Chapter 10-2: The Judgment of Angels

Chapter 10-2: The Judgment of Angels

As the trio made their way up the steep, snow-covered mountains, the biting cold wasn’t their only challenge. Monsters of all sizes lurked in the icy terrain, but between Insanity and Moxie, they handled the threats efficiently. Insanity’s brutal attacks tore through the beasts, while Moxie’s speed and precision made quick work of their enemies. It wasn’t until they reached the top of the mountain that the real challenge began.

Beyond the peak, they saw a sight unlike any they’d seen before—a city nestled in the snow, shining like a beacon of civilization in the desolate wilderness. It was grand, its architecture a blend of ancient and futuristic, standing in stark contrast to the harsh environment around it.

As they walked further into the city, Insanity’s ears picked up on something odd. Whispering. At first, he dismissed it as paranoia, but when he turned to look, his eyes widened in shock. On nearby walls were warning posters—wanted posters. Both Moxie and Insanity were on them.

At first, Insanity thought it was some kind of joke. But the details were far from funny. The posters claimed they had killed a wealthy family, leaving only two children alive. Insanity’s mind raced, and then it clicked—the fight in the huge city long ago. The chaos they caused had left more than just destruction. It had left victims.

Without hesitation, Insanity grabbed one of the posters and rushed to Moxie and Liza. "We’ve got a problem," he said, his voice low and tense. Moxie took the poster, his face hardening as he read. Liza scanned the horizon, already sensing that trouble was closer than they realized.

Before they could plan their next move, it was too late. A group of beastmen, larger and stronger than the monsters from the mountain, surrounded them. But that wasn’t the worst of it. Among them were angels—angels with wings of pure white and glowing auras.

Moxie and Insanity readied themselves for battle, their powers surging as they prepared to deal with the new threat. Liza took her position as a sniper, her wind bow ready, prepared to support them from a distance.

But then, the air itself seemed to grow heavier, an oppressive force weighing down on all of them. Moxie and Insanity felt beads of sweat form on their foreheads. The pressure was unlike anything they had ever felt.

They all turned their eyes toward a nearby cliff, where a lone figure stood watching them. Golden brown hair shimmered in the light, and the figure's golden armor glowed with divine power. A massive sword rested at his side, its blade as radiant as the sun.

The figure spoke, his voice carrying both authority and judgment. "You who have wrought chaos upon the world, stand before the judgment of Heaven."

It was Michael—the Archangel.

Insanity’s grin faltered, and even Moxie, usually calm and composed, couldn’t suppress the sense of unease. This was not a fight they were prepared for. The very ground trembled as Michael raised his sword high, its holy energy making the air crackle with raw power.

Before they could even react, Michael swung his sword with the weight of divine justice behind it.

The chapter, and the arc, ended with the massive swing of the archangel’s blade, cutting through the very air as Moxie, Insanity, and Liza braced themselves for what was to come.
