Chapter 29-4: The Return of Moxie

Pride stood poised, preparing another powerful beam to obliterate his opponents. Insanity, fully aware of the impending attack, braced himself to block it, knowing the others were watching closely. But just before Pride could unleash his strike, a massive explosion echoed behind him. The battlefield stilled, even Pride himself turning to face the source.

From the smoke and rubble emerged a familiar figure. His glowing eyes pierced the haze, and as the debris settled, it revealed Moxie, body scorched from his journey across multiverses. He staggered but quickly recovered, his wounds healing almost instantaneously.

Pride smirked, arms raised, as if acknowledging an old friend. Everyone but Sloth was perplexed by this sudden change in atmosphere.

"Moxie," Snow called out, binding the defeated Sins, "What should we do with them? Kill them?"

Her question made Mara tremble with fear, realizing the gravity of Snow's casual suggestion. Snow's fierce gaze shifted to Moxie, awaiting his judgment.

Pride, still smiling, watched closely. Even though Wrath had died, he knew this new version of Moxie—now holding Wrath’s essence—was here to take his place.

Far away, Calypso observed the scene. She felt a pang of sadness, knowing she hadn't contributed much to the battle. She reassured herself, though, that just being there mattered to her friends. But before she could move, an immense, suffocating pressure engulfed her. Her eyes bled as she struggled to make sense of what was happening.

Through the blur, she saw a glowing white figure sitting beside her, watching silently. It whispered softly, "I'm proud of you," before vanishing faster than she could comprehend. Calypso gasped for air but, determined to focus on the others, pushed the strange encounter aside.

She approached the group, beaming as she suggested, "Why not treat them like normal people, Moxie? No need for more bloodshed."

Moxie pondered her words for a moment, then nodded. "Let them go, Snow."

Pride stepped forward, grateful for Moxie's mercy. He extended his hand, a rare gesture of peace. "Thank you," he said quietly, grasping Moxie's hand in a show of newfound alliance.

For now, the battle was over, but everyone knew this was just the beginning of something far greater.
