“You think you’re so powerful! I, the mighty hero, Alexander Von Richardson the third, will send you to the darkest depth of hell, you poor excuse for a demon lord!” The hero cried out while charging his most powerful attack.
The system menu popped up a warning box telling him that the spell he’s over charging will have a powerful backlash.
With a swipe of his mind, he dismissed the system generated box and braced for a powerful kickback.
“Foolish Mortal! You’ve sealed your doom charging that much power into a single attack. Can you feel your power being drained away? Can you feel that skill slipping from your grasp?”
The armor around the hero’s legs seemed to lock in place and he could indeed feel the powerful attack starting to drain away and slip from his hands.
“I mean, how much of an idiot do you have to be to challenge the demon lord in her own castle?” The demon lord let her high and mighty demeanor fall away. She stopped talking in such formal and regal poise. She even started slouching. “You even gave me plenty of time to prepare by declaring to the entire human capital that you were taking the fight to me in my home. You didn’t bother checking for traps. You didn’t even notice that I had my subordinates guide you to this room. You stood in the middle of a freaking magic script for hells sake. How have you not been killed before now?”
The deadpan delivery of the demon kings reaction was hard to take in. The hero had poured all his mana into one attack and didn’t even think about the possibility that it could be stopped.
By most rights it shouldn’t have been.
You would need to have a prepared magic circle created to counter the attack and it would have to be geared to the specific skill that was activated. Not only that, but, if the hero had any magic left he could activate another skill to break free or damage the circle.

It didn’t help that the hero always went for overkill and had let anyone who fought him know what his fighting style was and what his most powerful skills were.
*gulp*
The hero was trapped. The only way out would be to keep the demon lord talking long enough to recharge enough mana to activate another skill that could break the circle. His entire suite of plate armor was locked in place. The only thing he could move was his eyes and mouth.
“Do you really think that...” the hero got cut off halfway through his response by a rather bored looking demon lord.
“Yeah, yeah. I would love to sit here and let you recover just so I could beat you all over again but... you’re not worth my time.” The demon lord snapped her fingers and the magic runes underneath the hero starting glowing.
“Bye, bye.” The demon lord waved.
It does’t matter that much... the hero thought. He had died a couple time during his travels. The king would just have him resurrected and he would get stronger.
There was a flash of light.
*HONK* a weird noise erupted around him.
The sudden ability to move again caught the hero off guard and caused him to fall forward.
“Get out of the fucking road!” A man cried out from a metal carriage flying past him at an incredible speed. The vehicles seemed to propel themselves down what looked like a solid black stone highway.
“Where in the seven hells am I?” The hero muttered to himself as yet another angry man yelled out at him in passing.
“This is not the place I wanted to be.”
