CHAPTER 337 CALLA LILIES WERE POISONOUS (2)
In order not to affect the normal business hour of the bar, they decorated the place first and tore the partition wall down later. There was also a slight change in the pattern.
Chloe Malan’s new song successfully captured the heart of the guests. Some of them even approached her and asked which song it was. She said that she and her partner wrote it.
Colbert smiled and said, “Sister Chloe, you and Brother Summer make a cute couple.”
This made Aoba Hoyle unhappy. She wrote some songs. What was so special about it? He could paint.
There were only a few painters like him in the country, but there were a lot of people who could write bad songs like she did. What’s the big deal?
He hated to admit that when Chloe Malan was singing on the stage looking fierce, the mysterious aura she gave off captivated him. His heart skipped a beat.
Chloe Malan, these past two days, no one knew whether it was Alan Hoyle’s words who got under her nerve or that Olive Steele woke her up, she no longer persistently approached Aoba Hoyle. Her attitude was now cold and distant. She didn’t care much about him. Wherever she wanted to go, he would drive his car toward her. Chloe Malan wouldn’t refuse. She even regarded him as a full time driver.
This kind of person was called masochist. The more he was abused, he happier he would be. He would be uncomfortable if he was not abused. Aoba Hoyle belonged to this category.
Therefore, he sought comfort in constant abuse and lived happily with it. He paid more attention this way. Soon she came to power, he would come banging with a bouquet of roses.
“You’re so unbearably vulgar.” was how she responded.
Well, he was vulgar and proud. He was a layman and had no intention of using his identity as an artist to cover it. He felt that he should always raise higher than the pretentious asses.
This evening, he had an epiphany and sent her to the bar, but didn’t follow her in.
Chloe Malan thought that the man finally gave up. She breathed a sigh of relief, but at the same time, she felt loss. She was a little distracted when she sang on the stage.
People might not spot her flaw, but Summer was sharp.
In the backstage room, Colbert said, “Chloe, you seem distracted.”
“Really?” she didn’t feel anything expect that her heart was empty. Content © copyrighted by .
“Why didn’t your escort come today? Did you send him away?” Edgar laughed.
Chloe Malan picked up a wooden stick and knocked it on him, “Why can’t you speak nicely? You know I don’t like that child.”
But, did she really hate him? When Alan Hoyle asked her this question, she was unable to give him a clear answer.
That child would pester her every day. He would follow her around, but now that he left, she kind of missed him.
Oh, how habit was a terrible thing.
If she really wanted to commit the cradle-robber, she was afraid that she didn’t have the courage to, especially with his background. It only made her step away.
Suddenly, she was depressed, “I’m going out for some air.”
On the street in that spring night, she wore very little. She didn’t feel cold in the bar wearing her thin skirt, but outside, she shivered. Outside, she couldn’t help hugging herself.
“Are you waiting for me?” asked a deep voice behind her. She could feel a warm breath on her neck.
Chloe Malan was startled, “Are you a ghost or something?”
“There is no ghost in this world, probably one in your heart.”
“You’re a ghost.”
“Yes. I’m the ghost in your heart.” Aoba Hoyle grinned.
“Bugger off.” every time she was out of words, she could only say this.
Aoba Hoyle wouldn’t step away. He took a bouquet of white flowers from behind and stuffed it into her arms. Chloe Malan discovered that his arms were hidden all along.
“I ran several blocks to buy you this. Calla lilies are poisonous, but I’m not afraid of your poison. You can poison me and I’ll be willing to die for you.”
Calla lilies were the meaning of her name.
This confession of his moved her stone cold heart. Sadly, men were fluent in this. She could hardly cherish it, “That’s sweet. Do you think I’m three that you can move me with those words?”
“It doesn’t matter. You will get used to it. I’m still young. I have enough time to wait.”
Chloe Malan was a tad away of being angry. Was he saying that she was old? She threw he flowers back at him, “Bugger off. This old lady is not interested in poisoning you.”
Aoba Hoyle rushed to the bar with flowers in his arms. He grinned and shouted, “Did you just admit that you’re reluctant to poison me? You’re a grown up. Why are you so unreasonable?”
It was enough to have a nightmare once. She didn’t want to repeat it twice.
The bar was vivid and vibrant. Alan Hoyle seemed to come on time. He would probably fancy a drink. After all, he was meeting Dave Chou to settle account.
