CHAPTER 220 TESTED HIM
“Don’t worry. I’ll be where you are.” Alan Hoyle knew what she was talking about. If he could save The Hoyle Company from bankruptcy, he could build another business empire in Luo City.
Jiangcheng was not his only goal.
Olive Steele was surprised. She didn’t expect that he would understand.
He leaned closer and pecked her lips, “Aren’t you touched?”
She would be lying if she said she was not touched. There was something popper in her mind. She pushed him away and asked, “What about your family?”
“My parents gave birth to three children. I’m the oldest and now, I’m yours. The second child is a daughter. She has no boyfriend yet, but she will get married in the future for sure. The third child, although he has a dozen of girlfriends, he will eventually get married and start his career. We live our own lives. We are related, but we are independent individuals. We don’t interfere with each other’s lives.”
She lowered her eyes and her voice, “Actually, I want to talk about your mother.”
“What about her?” he sneered coldly, “If she agrees, that will be great. If she doesn’t, I will not let her sabotage our marriage. I won’t take you to Jiangcheng to live a miserable life.”
“But, after all, she’s the mother who gave birth to you and raised you. Everything she did was for your own good.” After giving birth to Annie, she learned to think about children from the perspective of a mother.
“You fool. Don’t you hate her for what she did to you?” he couldn’t believe she still talked highly of her bully.
“Although I don’t like you mother, my feeling is not as strong as hatred. As long as she doesn’t come at me, I will never speak ill of her.” she answered honestly.
“You’re so silly.” if she was another woman, she must have bailed on him. But, Olive Steele, except for stating the facts, she never added fuel nor spoke ill of his mother.
She laughed, “Fortune favors the fools.”
“Why hasn’t she come back yet?” Olive Steele went out for a long time now and she hadn’t returned. Mrs. Wen looked at the clock and asked.
Mr. Wen replied, “She just went out to buy something. Don’t panic. She’s not a child.”
After ten minutes, Mrs. Wen finally lost her patience. She grabbed her phone and called her.
Olive Steele realized that time passed so fast. She was out for an hour already.
“Come with me to the supermarket.” said Olive Steele. She had to admit was she was not willing to part with Alan Hoyle yet.
“What do you want to buy?” he tidied up his clothes.
“I lied to my mother that I went out to the supermarket to buy tampons so that I could go out to meet you.” she scolded him.
He laughed, “It’s your idea. Let’s go. I’ll come with you. At least, you won’t be suspected if you return with something.”
But, he secretly wanted her mother to suspect her so that she would confess soon.
“I went back empty handed today and Chloe almost caught me off guard. I can tell that she hates you now.” said Olive Steele.
“It doesn’t matter if she hates me, as long as you love me.”
He started the car and drove away from the neighborhood. He crossed the road and stopped at a supermarket.
The supermarket was not too big, but daily necessities were available.
She headed straight to the shelf. Then, she saw him pushing a shopping cart, “I just need to buy one or two things. I don’t need this.” she said.
“You don’t need t, but I want it.” he picked up different kinds of snacks and threw it into the cart. He looked for ones pleasing to the eyes and swept them off the shelf.
Seeing that stuffs inside the cart was piling up, she couldn’t help asking, “Are you going to move the supermarket home?” NôvelD(ram)a.ôrg owns this content.
He smiled, “If you want it, I don’t mind buying it for you.”
She sighed, “You’re too much. Do you know that the poor has to compare prices and qualities before buying something? You rich people buy the whole supermarket for fun, don’t you? That’s so unfair.”
He pushed the cart with one hand. His other hand lingered around her waist, “What’s mine is yours. From now on, you’re also a rich lady.”
“Lady? I feel so old when you call me that.” she quipped.
“Old? You’re young and beautiful.” se pinched her cheek. Her cheek was plump and it made her look younger than her actual age.
She smiled and pointed at the fish inside the tank, “Do you think I’m as lively as that fish?”
If she had to compare herself with a fish, she was the one lurking in the depths of the sea floor for the past five years feeling alert and aware. Now, she managed to swim to the surface of the water when sun was shining.
She looked at the time and pushed the cart to the cashier. There were several people before them, so they to stand in line.
Alan Hoyle rested his head on her shoulders saying, “I used to hate standing in line so much, but why tonight, I hope that there are more people in front of us?”
