CHAPTER 261 YOU THREATENED ME
Olive Steele sighed. It seemed that she didn’t have to confess by herself. Somebody else would do it for her. Chloe Malan was one of them, but she didn’t know about the other. Alan Hoyle was up to something bad, but she couldn’t stop him.
She didn’t know how crazy things were about her and him outside now, but she felt that the public must be against him.
She wanted to send a message to Dave Harrod or Kent Bai to see if she could take some countermeasures, but the phone was confiscated once she hung up.
“Miss Steele, can we start?” the man who was crossing his arms didn’t intent to give her a break.
“I want to go to the bathroom first, can I?” she was able to put a low profile and suppress it for the whole day, but she was afraid that she might suffer from incontinence if she endured it.
The two men exchanged glances and quickly called a policewoman on duty to accompany her.
They called the policewoman to accompany her, but in all candor, they were afraid of her running away, so they kept her handcuffed. She couldn’t fly. How on earth would she escape this place?
Olive Steele could finally breathe after peeing. Now, she was in a ninja turtle mode. But, Alan Hoyle, would he take her away from this place?
She thought he told her to leave everything to him. She thought he told her to put her faith in him. Was he even alert about the rapid changes happened in Luo City and Jiangcheng?
Or, was everything still under your control? Olive Steele could only hope for the latter.
The policewoman urged her, “Are you done?”
“Can you take some toilet papers for me?” Olive Steele said pitifully. In fact, it was no use for her to delay the time. She couldn’t escape and her hand was handcuffed. She was no Wonder Woman. She had no special skills. It was impossible for her to squat on the toilet for the rest of 20 hours. Besides, if she escaped, she was only giving them all the more reason to arrest her.
She didn’t know what the policewoman was grunting about, but she knew that it didn’t sound good. After a while, the policewoman knocked on the door and stuffed a pile of toilet paper under the door.
When the policewoman was running out of patience, Olive Steele came out.
“Be honest. Don’t play tricks on us.” the policewoman said.
Olive Steele rolled her eyes. If she was too honest, she would easily be fooled.
Back to the interrogation room, the man who crossed his arm just now and the man in charge of recording were smoking. The room was filled with grey smoke and it was unpleasant.
Her nose wrinkled. She was fine with the light smell of cigar on Alan Hoyle’s body, but when the smell was too strong like it was right now, she couldn’t help feeling sick. She didn’t know whether it was her stomach or something, she just felt sick. Content © copyrighted by .
The policewoman handcuffed her back to the chair. Instead of being treated like a criminal, she was treated as a prisoner. These people were only mighty on the surface, but Olive Steele knew that they were just taking orders.
“Miss Steele, it’s no harm for you to cooperate with us. I hope you understand.” the man said while crossing his arm like it was his signature look.
His confidence was too much. He thought that she was a fickle woman who would surrender after being told once to twice.
This was too humiliating.
Cooperate? How was she supposed to cooperate? What a joke. She knew nothing. What did they want her to confess about?
Olive Steele smiled faintly. She sat comfortably. She had twelve hours left to endure.
The time was running slowly, too slow that she hoped Alan Hoyle could detect the danger and respond to it accordingly.
But, he was 30.000 feet away from the ground. Could he make it? Her heart was not at ease.
The man in charge for recording opened his book. He was ready to note it down dutifully. Olive Steele suspected that the confession was already written that she only had to sign and press her fingerprints.
There was a saying fitted into the situation; give a dog a bad name and hang him.
Alan Hoyle was right. There was no good and evil in this world. The bad guys were not necessarily without kindness and the good guys were not without a bad intention. As long as they lived up to their conscience, things were settled.
“Miss Steele, are you ready to talk?”
“Talk about what?” Olive Steele played dumb and distracted.
“A while ago, you went to Jinjiang for a business trip. Alan Hoyle went with you. Is he related to someone named Kent Bai?”
“I don’t know.” she shrugged her shoulders.
“You don’t know?” the man sneered as he took out two pieces of photos. One of the photos was her, Alan Hoyle, and Kent Bai in the Fenghuang Hotel and the other one was them having dinner in Tongzhou.
It turned out that they had been watching them for a while.
“Miss Steele, do you know each other?”
“It turned out that his name was Kent Bai. He introduced himself as Davis, a Chinese-American,”
Of course, she made this all up.
“Miss Steele, it’s no good for you to play dumb.” the man warned.
Olive Steele pursed her lips, “He’s not a good man. I don’t really like him. Years later, Kent Bai is still worried about this sentence. He wonders why I hate him.”
It was another story.
“So, you admit that Alan Hoyle and this man named David know each other.” the man said.
