After some minor food poisoning we decide it is time to turn in. If things went according to schedule, we would enter Caslor’s central, The City of Cross Roads. In that city happens to be another main road, The Merchants’ Trail. The Merchants’ Trail goes perpendicular to The Circle. This road goes in a more or less straight line from the Demon Realm to the Imperial Domain. Meanwhile The Circle from the Northern Void Lands down to Caslor and heads west, going parallel of The Merchants’ Trail. These roads intersected in The City of Cross Roads.
I can’t wait to find information on a possible lead to a cure. I was actually getting kind of restless. I guess to pass a few minutes off my hands I guess I’ll go over traits and skills. I mutter “Status.”

Wow, I’m gathering a lot of skills and titles. Oh, as I recall, I’m allowed to customize some of my traits. I mutter, “Customize traits”
*PING*
Customize Traits
You can customize any and all traits at the expense of all your unassigned stat points
Okay, I guess I should purchase the last purchasable trait, I say “Purchase Hazy Aura”
Trait Purchased
Hazy Aura
I did not feel the usual pain from the usual trait purchases but I did feel very in tune with my mana, as if I could easily turn into it at a moment’s notice. Unsettling, really. After I finished purchasing this trait I begin customizing my traits.
Customize Tail
Same Length, Barbed Tip Same Length, Hammer Tip Double the Length, Whip-like
Oh, hmmm. I guess whip like would fit my style better.
Customize Horns
Long, Sturdy, Bull horns Powerful, Curved, Goat horns Deadly, Split, Deer Antlers
Well, just about every demon I know who have horns are either bull or goat so in order to be a little different, I chose the antlers.
Customize Claws
Detachable Claws Finger point Talons Miniature Dagger Claws
Detachable? I’m guessing the ‘finger point talons’ replaces my fingertips with talons. I think ‘miniature dagger claws’ means my claws become the size or sharpness of a dagger. Detachable, I have no idea… well I suppose it could mean that my claws can come off on command, maybe to serve as a projectile. Or maybe perhaps, it will be like shark teeth where there will be more to replace them as they come off. Both sounded like it would come in handy so I chose the vague detachable claws.
Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
Customize Wings
Protective Feathers Graceful Flight Wings of the Seraph
Oooh, I was looking forward to this! Let’s see, protective feathers, I’m guessing my feathers can either be manipulated or they become very hard, either was good for defense. My high vitality gave me resistance to pain, made me a little more durable, but it did not help with protecting me. Graceful Flight sounds like better control over flights, maybe better maneuverability. Wings of the Seraph, if I remember correctly, seraphs had multiple wings. I think six? It would fit perfectly with Protective Feathers, though I would need to get Graceful Flight to counter the hindrance of having more than one pair of wings. I choose the feathers.
Customize Fangs
A True Carnivore The Orcish Bite Vampire’s Best Weapon
I think these are self-explanatory. A mouth full of razor-like teeth, a massive under bite, or extremely long canines are my choices. I think the mouth full of razor like teeth is a better weapon, but it would get in the way of enjoying good food. I think Vampire fangs are retractable… I choose the vampires fangs.
Demon Eyes Specialization
Fear Paralysis Death
Death, I choose death. Isn’t a main character supposed to choose non-lethal routes? I already killed two people. I could have just done to them what I did to the parents, but no one was there to stop me, and I couldn’t forgive attempted rape, period. The parents were better off dead any way. Basically, I am no Batman. I do not care if someone deserving of death dies.
Aura Specialization
Possession Invisibility Death
Hmm, death would be redundant, possession was interesting but I do like stealth. Whenever I played games on Earth I always liked stealth features. I chose invisibility. Think about it, being untouchable and can’t be seen, it’s like erasing your existence.
Well now that I am all done, I brace myself for the oncoming pain. I close my eyes and wait. There was a mild tooth ache, pinching alongside my tail, prickling under the finger nails and a slight sting in my eyes. Also my horns grew very uncomfortable and I could feel my head get slightly heavier. No intense, agonizing pain, just a mild case of being uncomfortable for a few minutes.
Hmm, I guess that was it. That was all that was… wait, why was I on the ground? It seems the lights are fading as well. Oh it appears I have passed out from pain.
…
When I came too, I was no longer at my camp site. I saw no one around me but the surrounding looked really familiar. The black sky the pale yellow ground and the black and purple fog, with the frigid air. It was really hard to begin to say where I was… hmmm… The Void you say? No, no, it couldn’t be, but why? Why was I here? How did I get here?
Taking a few more moments to scan my surroundings, there was a mountain behind me. Since the air was an inky black, it was really difficult to see in the distance, I always assumed that the Void was infinite flatland. Surrounding the mountain, this took me by surprise, were quite a few lifeless trees. They were blackened and leafless. Nowhere else I looked was there any signs of vegetation, except near this mountain.
Just to be sure, I turn around and take a leap into the air. I unfurled my wings and created powerful gusts with my wings to get me off the ground. I flew in a straight line at a high enough altitude that I could get a clear visibility of the grounds and any signs of life, past or present. None, I found none. There were piles of rubble scattered here and there. It looked as though there may have been a civilization forever ago. I have no idea, it could be natural but they looked like it could have destroyed ancient buildings.
Besides a possible ancient buried city site or two, there was very much to look at. No sign of life, vegetation, nothing. I decide to return to that mountain. Flying for a solid fifteen minutes, it came into view. As I got closer I noticed it wasn’t a few dead trees, but a forest of them was surrounding this mountain. Ok, so through some minor observations, I can deduce that something freaky was going with this mountain. As if to confirm the freaky factor I could see a shrine on top of this mountain. I couldn’t make out the exact shape quite yet but it seemed like that’s what it was.
When I knew I had passed over the threshold of the mountain, the very foot of the mountain, I could feel my stamina being sapped away. It took just about all I had to keep in the air. It was as if the gravity had been turned up several times. My horizontal speed came to a standstill and my altitude was dropping with each flap of my wings. The gravity seemed to get stronger and stronger, so instead of resisting, I willing came down to the ground.
As soon as my foot touched the ground, the intense gravity stopped. Huh? Wait was there a flight ban on this place? Also, earlier I felt so in sync with my Mana, now I can’t even feel its presence. I need to test this out. Expanding my wings upward, I crouch and leap into the air beating my wings furiously. I got no more the six feet off the ground before the intense gravity set in. Ok flight ban is a thing here, so how about magic?
I try to send mana into my hands, willing as much as I could. I couldn’t feel a thing. Maybe it’s there, but I can’t feel it. So I make up my mind and spread my fingers and jab my fingers into the ground, “Earth Molder!”
The pain I felt was unbelievable, I swear I almost broke my entire left hand doing that. Rubbing my left hand, I confirmed that I am indeed cut off from my Mana and flight. So this mountain is strange, and I don’t like it. But I have to investigate why I was pulled up into the Void.

So those upgrades you got.
Shuddup.
But aren't they so useful in your situation?
I said Shuddup.
