Chapter 73

I should have waited until the APEC summit to incorporate it into Cavaron. Oh well, Putin and Obama are coming to Manila for the APEC summit, and their presences are a security nightmare and the Al-Qaeda's wet dream.

Other than that, I love how my previous professor gave an entire week to answer the exam but still had a seventy percent chance of failing, and how my current professor only gave an hour and a half for an "open everything" exam that also had the same percentage to fail it.

The only thing remaining for me is our moot court competition that makes up fifty percent of our entire grade.

Life is food. Very hungry. So delicious.

Have a chapter.

The bipedal mechs fired off their directed energy weapons, and those that were hit got burned to oblivion that not even a cry was heard. Giant black dogs made up the vanguard and, with their powerful maws, tore off one limb or head after another. Behind the dogs were giant black cats that, with their ungodly sharp claws and reflexes, whipped up a whirlwind of mangled flesh and metal. As for the giant black birds in the sky, they were nuisances as they wreaked havoc with their hit-and-run attacks and their powerful talons that could lift a full grown man into the sky.

The line of battle has been slowly shifting towards the fortress, and the coalition forces were slowly dwindling. Unable to cope with the pressure, an officer screamed into the radio.

"The west line is about to be breached!" he shouted, "I don't care who or what, we need reinforcements!!"

A beam of light suddenly tore through him, and burned away the top half of his body. His legs that were left behind limply fell to the ground, and the soldiers around him scattered in panic.

"Goddammit!" cursed a soldier, "We are the best of the best each of our countries have to offer! Why the hell are we losing!?"

"Did you even see those monsters!?" cried another soldier, "Technology far ahead of our time, technology that could only be seen in movies! We are fighting against a fanta— CRUNCH!"

"YURI!" cried the previous soldier as he saw his comrade's head get bitten off by a giant black dog, "YOU SON OF A BITCH! DIE!!! RATATATATA!!"

The giant black dog only flinched from the bullets' stopping power, but was still standing. The soldier dumped the entire magazine until his rifle clicked from the lack of ammunition.

"Dammit! DAMMIT!!" cursed the soldier, "GRAAAAAAHHHHHH!!"

The soldier pulled out a knife and attempted to stab the dog. However, the dog swatted him into a wall where he lay limp and awaited his death. The dog approached the dying soldier to end his pitiful life.

"I'm sorry, Natasha." said the soldier as he embraced his fate.

"YAHOOOOO!!! C'MERE LITTLE DOGE!"

Suddenly, a small squeaky voice came from behind, and a small shadow leapt over the soon to die soldier onto the dog. The surprise momentarily stunned the dog, and was immediately stabbed by two small swords into each of its eyes, killing it.

"Huh?" muttered the soldier, "How'd a midget get here!?"

Indeed, it was a midget who saved him. Specifically, it was a midget Cavaron that wore midget-sized armor and weapons.

"Mini-Cavaron 1, reporting for duty!" said the midget Cavaron, "See ya! Yahooooo!!!"

The soldier lay in his place as he was struck dumb at the sight of a midget Cavaron swiftly and systematically getting rid of one black monster after another. Due to the midget Cavaron's size, the bipedal mechs had a hard time acquiring it as a target.

"Wait for meeeeeere!!!" another squeaky voice came from behind, "Eat this, ya little shits!! FWIIIIIPAAAAAAAANG!!!"

A thin beam of light tore through the air, and sliced past four giant birds. The beam of light was like a knife dancing in the air until it dissipated. After that, another thin beam of light swept over the battlefield and shredded two bipedal mechs, making them explode. Another midget Cavaron walked past the soldier with a giant hand cannon.

"Mini Cavaron 2, ready to mince some meat!" said the second midget Cavaron who was wearing a sleek chrome armor, "Weeheehee!!"

The second midget Cavaron ran to the battlefield and lay even greater havoc than the first. Seeing a pair of midgets dance through the battlefield eventually baffled all who bore witness to it. That was until giant spears of blue light fell onto the area, and pierced a huge number of bipedal mechs and black monsters.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! DIE! DIE!" another squeaky voice came from above and revealed the owner to be another midget Cavaron wearing a loose blue cloak with an evil smile as it rained blue hell all over, "Mini Cavaron 3 has descended!!! Bow down to me, puny mortals!! AHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"

The third midget Cavaron flew above the battlefield and threw one blue spear after another in midair. The giant black birds attempted to attack the third midget Cavaron but were torn apart by the second midget Cavaron's laser.

The sight of three midget Cavarons was something to behold as only they remained fighting against the monsters and red-eyed people.

"What the hell is going on!?" cried the supposedly dying soldier.

Soon, a medic arrived next to him, "Don't know, don't care. All I know is they are allies, and I'm here to get you out!"

The medic rescued the soldier, and the two of them left the battlefield. After a while, the only ones left fighting were the red-eyed people and the black monsters, and the three midget Cavarons and the lone man watching from atop a bombed out tower.

The man in the tower was giggling manically as he watched the three midgets lay waste to the already wasted battlefield. Next to the man was a metal box with three midget shaped holes, and a pile of weapons and clothing. This man was Cavaron, and he brought out another piece of his collection.

"Kukikikiki..." giggled Cavaron creepily, "Go, my Mini-mes! Go and have a party! Akakakakaka!!"

Cavaron held his belly as he laughed until tears formed on his eyes from laughing too hard. Eventually, he sat down and pulled out a portable gaming device from his inventory, and played a game while waiting for the midget Cavaron's to finish their duty.

"Ooh, I can now forge an Astral armor set." said Cavaron as he played his game, "Let's see, it adds a total of 250 overall defense. That's good... The hell is tha— OH MY GOD..."

However, he noticed a strange vessel flying in the distance. It was similar to a catamaran but was over a kilometer long and wide. As he watched in awe of the flying vessel, the vessel suddenly produced a massive ball of energy on one of its long fuselages. The ball of energy became brighter and larger, and one could see the space around it wave and bend. After ten seconds, the huge vessel fired the massive ball of energy into the fortress.

If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.

"Shit!" cursed Cavaron as he threw his gaming device back into his inventory, "I hope this works, FIRE WALL!!"

Cavaron jumped out of hiding and ran right in front of the massive ball of energy that was growing unstable. As he shouted, the flames within his body left him and erected a massive 500-meter wall of fire. The ball of energy collided with his flames, but like how his contracts' attacks were effortlessly erased by Azrael's flames, the ball of energy was also erased. The sight of a 50-meter wide ball of energy dissipating into oblivion by a 500-meter tall wall of flames was witnessed by all who were present.

"Holy shit!" exclaimed Cavaron, "It really erased the damned thing! Now, what will you do ne— eh? How?"

The massive vessel was suddenly flying overhead without him noticing. Earlier, the vessel was at a distance of over six kilometers. It covered, however, that same distance in a span of a mere five seconds, almost the entire time it took the ball of energy to completely disappear.

"Mini-me 2 and 3!!" shouted Cavaron, "Bring that thing down!!"

"Roger!" squeaked Mini Cavaron 2, "Pew pew!"

"Ahahahaha!!" laughed Mini Cavaron 3 squeakily, "RAIN OF TORMENT!!!"

"What about me?" squeaked Mini Cavaron 1, "Guess I'll take care of the stragglers... C'MERE DOGE!!"

Mini Cavaron 2 aimed his hand cannon at the flying vessel and let loose a thicker beam of light. As for Mini Cavaron 3, he let loose a torrent of blue spears. The blue spears flew together with the beam and hit the vessel in a split second. However, the vessel was unharmed as the beam and spears stopped short because of a barrier around the vessel. The barrier emitted a soft white light as it got hit by the beam and spears, but did not shatter.

"Ah! Energy shield!" squeaked Mini Cavaron 2, "I need something with a bigger output!"

"Stupid shield!" squeaked Mini Cavaron 3, "Cavaron Prime, we need a mass driver to punch through that!"

"Evade its attacks, first!" ordered Cavaron, "Incoming!!!"

The vessel's underside suddenly lit up from twenty four locations. A second after, multiple short beams rained down onto and around Cavaron. However, Cavaron effortlessly evaded all of the beam attacks with his mana-infused body. As for the Mini Cavarons, they grabbed onto Cavaron and evaded the attacks with him.

"It can sustain this much fire!?" cried Cavaron, "Grah! Railgun time!"

Cavaron suddenly stopped dodging and pulled out a railgun from his inventory. He aimed the gun at the flying vessel that was still shooting at him, and shot a tungsten round after ripping the sound barrier once more.

"Eat Mach 7!" cried Cavaron, "BANG!!!"

Cavaron's railgun lit up, and delivered the super electromagnetic bullet that hit the shields as soon as it left the gun. The tungsten round tore through the shield as expected, and even hit the hull of the vessel. However, although it was damaged, it wasn't enough to bring it down.

"Damn! I need a rail cannon!" cursed Cavaron, "I don't even have a rail cannon, yet!"

Cavaron looked around for a way to break through the shields, until he realized something and slapped his head.

"Why didn't I remember this earlier?" he scolded himself, "A flame is a tool that could create and destroy... By that logic..."

Cavaron willed his flames to cover his hands, and waved his flames around his railgun. His railgun was devoured by the flames, and rematerialized beside him in the form of a larger gun.

"Mini-mes, cover me!" ordered Cavaron, "I'm not too familiar with the concept behind mass drivers, but if I take the railgun as a reference..."

Slowly, a massive cannon formed beside him. Although a cannon, it was more of a supersized version of his already large railgun. This railcannon was as big as a bus and was bolted to the ground instead of being carried by him. The muzzle was aimed at the flying vessel.

"Well, it's a giant railgun instead of a railcannon..." commented Cavaron, "Should work the same... Where's that button? Oh, big button..."

Cavaron found the button that he would press when firing the railgun. Instead, he found a big red button the size of a head. Seeing that the "cannon" was already aimed at the vessel, it only took him one action to get it done. He punched the big red button.

"Cover your ears!" he shouted.

"BOOM!!!"

A massive and deep boom was heard instead of the usual sonic boom, and a massive shockwave was generated as an eighty millimeter tungsten round was flung forward at hypersonic speeds and literally tore through the space-time continuum. The shockwave from the sonic boom reached the walls of the fortress as the cement crumbled to dust. A few unlucky soldiers who were out in the open were sadly pummeled to the ground by a force that resembled a nuke. A huge crater was left on the ground, and a huge hole appeared on the flying vessel. The Mini Cavarons had to hold onto him for dear life in fear of being blown away.

The vessel, having lost a chunk of its hull, slowly lost altitude and was sent crashing into the ground. The sight of a kilometer wide metal catamaran caused the sounds of retreat and evacuation to erupt all over the fortress. Even the attacking black monsters and bipedal mechs were forced to retreat seeing as they lost more than they gave.

"Oops..." said Cavaron, "I hope my flames can get rid of that. Fire Wall!!"

Another wall of his flames erupted and created a protective dome above them. However, right before the flames themselves fully encapsulated the falling vessel, the ground tore open and a giant tree grew out of the ground.

In a few seconds, the giant tree had grown to a size of two kilometers high and three kilometers wide, completely covering the entire area with its canopy. The giant tree completely caught the falling vessel with its massive branches that were as thick as giant sequoias, and right beneath it was an old man with a very long white beard staring furiously at Cavaron.

"Blade Dancer, Cavaron!" shouted the old man, "How dare you break the rules set upon by the masters!"
