Regarding clichés, since quite a lot have PM'd me about it, it is subjective. It would be more proper if you, my dear readers, would familiarize yourselves with TROPES.
Here are two links that may help you:

And so, we can never avoid clichés as they are tropes themselves, only overused to the point that you've seen them in practically EVERYTHING you've read.

"Shit!" Cavaron double timed towards the Sky Tower while maintaining telepathic contact with Burkhard, "What's happening up there!?" The Dark Fate flames have completely engulfed the Upper Area of the Sky Tower. Around the area, the Sky Knights and coalition forces were in a state of panic as many knew that the Sky Queen, Ethra, was in the Upper Area. Each step Cavaron made as he dashed, a small crater was left behind from the sheer force that propelled him.
"Master... I can't hold on for much longer..." Burkhard strugglingly spoke in Cavaron's mind. "Burkhard! Have Aimi jump off the balcony, now!" Cavaron mentally cried at his contract. While running, he looked towards the east, and found Halrimaw's horde finishing off then stragglers from the decimated Azual reinforcements. He unsheathed one of his swords, used Mana Blade, and launched a projectile towards Halrimaw. The Mana Blade projectile cut through Halrimaw's fur, making him flinch, and turn towards Cavaron. Having gotten the Beast Lord's attention, Cavaron gestured to Halrimaw to come over. The gigantic chimeric behemoth followed the order after turning back to his humanoid form.
"Master, you nearly killed the Great Me!" Halrimaw roared as he arrived next to Cavaron. Without looking back at his contract, "Not now, problem up in the air." This made Halrimaw look up to the sky, and found the Dark Fate flames making the Beast Lord go, "Oh, shit." vastly different from his earlier behavior. As they passed through the city all the way to the base of the Sky Tower, a figure suddenly emerged from the flames and fell down. Cavaron immediately grabbed hold of the Beast Lord beside him, "Catch them, now!"
Although bewildered, Halrimaw followed the order and flew high up towards the falling figure. Cavaron realized who it was and thus ordered the one who can fly to catch them. Halrimaw flew fast, faster than all the others who could fly, and was soon able to catch the falling figure. It was Aimi, and Aomi who was being hugged by the girl. Aimi was unconscious but Aomi was crying like mad. Burkhard, however, was nowhere to be found.
"Master..." an aged voice spoke in Cavaron's mind, "Many pardons but I must dismiss myself. I took too much damage." Burkhard willfully dismissed the contract. The Dark Fate flames appeared to be too powerful for even the Aegis Spirit. Cavaron finally arrived at the base of the tower, and Halrimaw landed next to him while carrying the unconscious girl and crying Azursa.
Right after, another figure emerged from the flames bathed in the very same dark flames that engulfed the tower. Flying in the sky like a harbinger of the end days, the figure stopped mid air and looked down below. Numerous soldiers turned pale at the sight of the figure, and many cried, "No! Her Majesty!" Ethra Devai, Sky Queen of Palu'Angit, has become corrupted by the Dark Fate flames instead of being devoured like how those who were hit by it should be.
Ethra's earlier beauty was then replaced by a pale face devoid of life as she stared down at the people below. "Cavaron." A voice that was not hers left her lips, "Welcome back to Edeortha. Hahahahaha... I suppose you know who I am, yes?" Cavaron's expression became furious as he also knew that voice. The voice that reminded him of years long past. The voice that should have gone long ago.
"Azrael!!!" Cavaron cried in fury, "You were dead!" Ethra, or Azrael, was still looking down on Cavaron, "Hahaha! I have to thank you! If not for these flames, I would probably am! Yet, I'm not, as you can see!" Azrael laughed manically in Ethra's body. Pointing a finger at Cavaron, "Let us see if you can avoid killing this wench!" and dived down while wielding a scythe made out of the black flame. Azrael in Ethra's body flew down at such an astonishing speed that it only took a few seconds to clash with Cavaron.
Cavaron received the attack with full power Mana Blades to protect his swords from being eroded by the cursed flame, and upon clashing, a powerful shockwave erupted knocking the others around them away. Halrimaw held Aimi and Aomi with one hand while shielding them with the other, "Graahhh!!" He let out a roar of pain as bits of the black flame were part of the shockwave. The other soldiers that were in the blast radius were also hit by the black flames and screamed in agony as they were being devoured.
With a manic grin unbefitting of a beautiful woman, "Come, Cavaron! Use your flames! I know you still have it with you!!!" Azrael in Ethra's body screamed at Cavaron's face. Cavaron, in turn, detonated the Mana Blades on his swords hoping to push Azrael away for a while. With a small explosion, Azrael in Ethra's body was knocked away for a few meters, but since he could fly, it just gave him an advantage and used the momentum to boomerang back for another attack.
Suddenly, Azrael in Ethra's body stumbled for a bit, "Eh? Resisting are we?" Azrael realized that Ethra still had her consciousness intact and tried to break free from his influence. "Naughty bitch!" Azrael raised Ethra's arm that suddenly held a black dagger, and stabbed her leg, "This will teach you to defy me!" The twitching of the body stopped momentarily only to start again. Ethra's will was strong. "Damned wench!"
While Azrael was busy keeping Ethra's consciousness down, Cavaron amassed a huge amount of mana on his palm and charged towards the stunned Azrael in Ethra's body. The speed of his charge was like a bullet leaving the gun as Cavaron arrived right before Azrael in Ethra's body. Azrael noticed him too late as Ethra's consciousness kept him busy. Right then and there, Cavaron slammed the huge amount of mana onto Ethra's abdomen, blasting her body away like a bullet, and slammed her body onto the Sky Tower's wall with so much force that it knocked her body out.
If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
Moments later, the flames that bathed her body receded, left her body through her right ear, then formed into a humanoid. "Aww, I didn't expect you could do that. If only that bitch didn't interfere!" The humanoid flame complained as it crossed its arms while looking at Ethra. The humanoid flame then looked at Cavaron, "Well, what now? Hahaha! I guess I'll wait around the Scar in my real body. Hey, let's reenact the war a hundred years ago!" The humanoid flame said happily.
Cavaron had only brought out his mana sword while on guard from the Azrael's humanoid flame. "No need to be on guard so much, hehehe. I'll just use the Azuals to harass you until you reach me.. or I could go to you directly, how does that sound? Yeah, let's end this. Once and for all." Azrael's flame kept on talking and taking without heeding its surroundings. "Well, maybe I'll just harass you. I'm tired of using this flame. I haven't even mastered using it, you know!? How did you do it, huh!? How did you control your flame!? ... Never mind, I need to sleep. See you at ground zero, then." Azrael's flame dissipated after talking for so long.
When Cavaron believed that there was no more danger, he went next to Ethra's body and checked the state of her soul with his Mana Sight. Ethra's soul was still going strong even though her body was unconscious. Next, he went to Halrimaw to check on his and Aimi's conditions. The black flames that hit Halrimaw's body like buckshot from a shotgun disappeared as soon as Azrael's humanoid flame disappeared. Halrimaw's arm was riddled with holes that would make any trypophobic have a heart attack. The girl and the Azursa were, fortunately, alive although Aimi was still unconscious.
Cavaron inspected his surroundings and found many dead Azuals, half as many dead soldiers, a lot of soldiers whose bodies had eroded due to the flames, and a whole lot more that gave sighs of relief. The city was in better shape than its people, and the flames that engulfed the Upper Area of the Sky Tower left huge gaping holes all over it. Looking over the horizon, Cavaron found that the sun was already setting.
Leaving the cleanup to the soldiers, and handing Ethra over to the Legion Commander siblings, Cavaron had Halrimaw bring Aimi into the Lower Area where a room was prepared for them but Halrimaw had to stay behind halfway since his width wouldn't let him fit through the doorways making Cavaron carry the sleeping girl instead for the remainder. Halrimaw decided to "bunk" with the other mounts as he felt more at peace with beasts being a Beast Lord himself.
Cavaron arrived and entered the room given to them. It was a two-person dormitory rather than a mere room. It had a small dining area, a kitchen, a small bath, a vanity room, and two beds. It didn't have any windows, and the only source of light was a large chunk of Luminite hanging from the ceiling 4 meters above them. Cavaron lay Aimi on a bed and removed her clothes. Next, he went to the bath, and pulled out a basin and cloth from his inventory to be filled with water. The clothes Aimi was wearing were put in a basket he also produced and placed at a corner of the bath. After filling the basin with enough water, he returned to the beds to find Aimi wake up and find herself naked.
At first, Aimi was in a daze while trying to recall what happened, then she saw Cavaron with a basin and a cloth looking at her. Afterwards, she felt a slight breeze, and looked down to see her exposed and sweaty body. From a daze, her face turned to shock. From shock, she turned her head towards Cavaron like a rusted knob, and focused on the basin and cloth in his hands. From there, her face turned pink then became red, and eventually becoming bright crimson while having her sight become hazy. Instead of screaming, she fell unconscious once more from the shock. Cavaron watched everything happen in a minute, and just shrugged his shoulders and shook his head as he proceeded to wash Aimi's body.
After having washed Aimi's body, Cavaron produced another set of clothes for her, and dressed her with casual wear. Making sure that Aimi was comfortable, he looked around for the Azursa in the room. Unable to find the little beast, he vaguely remembered seeing the Azursa lying on top of Halrimaw's head. Figuring that it would be good to just leave it with him, he went to the kitchen to cook food for Aimi. After cooking the food, he left the plates on a table with a note that said, "I'll be back."
Cavaron left the room and also left the Sky Tower. He immediately headed north towards a certain mountain 12 kilometers away. Arriving at the base of the mountain, he activated his Mana Sight and went around the mountain looking for something. After five minutes of searching, he found faint threads of mana floating in the air. He followed the mana thread only to realize he was going the wrong way as it faded instead. Backtracking, he followed the opposite direction of the threads of mana, and soon found it getting thicker with each step. Finally, having reached the end, he found a large fountain of mana as it was erupting from the ground. It was another mana well. The mana well was actually deep within a ravine that cut through the mountain, and he learned of its location due to the Byblos.
Having found a mana well, he sat down and slept as his body absorbed large amounts of mana restoring his own. Before he went to deep slumber, a thought ran across his mind, 'Strange how the Byblos knew of this place but was unable to tell me of Azrael's fate...'
