Cavaron and Aimi arrived at their destination, the world of Edeortha.
'Uu... now what..?' Aimi just stood there having no idea what to do next and stared at Cavaron, 'Uu... Cavaron-senpai...' Aimi, being a Japanese, began calling him senpai.
As they arrived, Cavaron stood next to Aimi with his arms crossed. A moment after, a man welcomed the two, "WELCOME HERO...es?" and made Cavaron speak, "Long time, no see. Edeortha." Aimi was surprised that he knew this world and started to look around to see a large group of heavily armed people gawking at them.
The nearby Gulfried grabbed a magus, "What happened? Why are there two of them?" and ordered an explanation. The magus could not say nor do anything but shake his head in confusion at the situation. Gulfried released the magus when he saw Ethra and Esserot stare at the people they summoned.
Taking the initiative, Gulfried observed the two. One of them was an armored man emitting an aura of power. The other one, by the man's side, was a young girl with strange clothing and appeared weak. He concluded that the man was the hero they summoned, and the girl must be someone who was with him. Naturally, Gulfried approached Cavaron first.
"Hero, welcome to—" but Gulfried was interrupted when Cavaron raised his palm motioning Gulfried to stop, "Not me. Her. She's your heroine." and pointed at the quivering Aimi who sank to the ground when he mentioned her.
Gulfried was, of course, dumbfounded at the development of the situation, "Ah, huh? But..." The others around them were in the same state of bewilderment and had a fun time comprehending what happened.
Cavaron pointed to himself, "I'm the tag along, and this girl's senior. I'll be supervising her development into a respectable champion." and added further with, for some reason, an indifferent tone.
Then, blood rushed to Gulfried's head, "You expect me to believe that this weak-looking girl is our champion!?" and made the nearby Ethra and Esserot pull him back to calm him down. Cavaron saw the other two races, "Hoh? So you made peace with one another? Interesting... so what kind of problems are you having that warranted the summoning of a hero? Aside from being at each others throats, of course." and interrogated the three leaders.
Gulfried was left in a body lock by Esserot, while Ethra came forward to speak with Cavaron and Aimi, "Judging from your words, you have been here before, yes?" and asked Cavaron. Without saying anything else, Cavaron just nodded.
Unfortunately, there was an elder nearby, "C-C-CAVARON!?" and panicked at the sight of him. It was a demon elder with a huge body, as big as Esserot's, but looked like a cross between lion and a lizard. "Y-Y-YOU FOOLS!! WHY HAVE YOU SUMMONED HIM!!?!?" and warranted the others to stare at the panicking elder and at Cavaron.
Cavaron narrowed his eyes at the elder, which made the target flinch, "Interesting, so the older ones still remember. Don't worry, though. I'm not doing anything." he said as he smiled, "She will be the one working for you depending on how she receives my teachings."
Whatever he said did not calm the elder down as he ran away. Now, the elder's action made the others wonder even more about this blue armored man before them. Gulfried, however, immediately calmed down when he saw the elder run at top speed as though avoiding a disaster, and was released by Esserot whose arms dropped at the sight of his advisor.
"Do you people love staring at others, especially men?" Cavaron frowned and said sarcastically, "Seeing as the whole lot of you are men themselves, why not stare at Aimi here?" His comment made others remember the other one they summoned, and looked at her.
Contrary to her earlier behavior, she was looking in awe at her surroundings, especially at Ethra. When Ethra noticed Aimi looking at her, she smiled back and made Aimi blush. Cavaron was intrigued and pulled closer to her ear, "Are you a lesbian?" and whispered a question. From a simple blush, Aimi's face turned beet red, "W-W-WHAT ARE YOU SAYING, SENPAI!?!??" and screamed at Cavaron.
Cavaron pulled away from her, "Oh... too bad... 'Senpai'? Oh, right. Japanese do that." and commented. Aimi heard his comment and pounded fruitlessly on his armor while her face was steaming red with a mix of anger and embarrassment. Cavaron smiled at her reactions, 'So lively.' and thought.
"Um, pardon my intrusion." Ethra, who was still before the two, spoke up only to be intrrrupted by a screaming soldier, "ENEMY ATTACK!!!"
Everybody who heard the soldier quickly looked to the direction of the source. Within the Kalbata Forest, there is no surprise when monsters attack, and are often quickly dealt with. However, it is a different matter if it warrants a soldier to literally scream it out. Beyond the formation of soldiers, hiding within the shadows of the trees, numerous silhouettes numbering to a force of two hundred appeared.
Gulfried cried out in alarm, "How the hell did they get so many!?" because of such a huge undetected force. Immediately, he unsheathed his sword while Ethra and Esserot did the same with their own weapons.
Cavaron looked around and counted the forces of the three races to only reach a number of one hundred, half of the enemy's forces. "So, that's the enemy?" he asked the nearby Ethra.
Ethra nodded, "Yes, they are called the Azual. They are from the mix of the three races, and became their own race. Just like from the war of an age long past, they vie for the supremacy of their race."
Cavaron sighed, "You Edeorthans never learn, do you?" and spoke out. This made the three leaders frown, but they can't do anything because of the imminent threat before them. Aimi immediately hid behind Cavaron and quivered like a kitten on crack. Cavaron looked behind him, "Welcome to your new world. Welcome to our life." and sacastically told Aimi.
"No no no no no... what did I do to deserve this!?" Aimi panicked, "I don't wanna die!"
Cavaron could only sigh, "Eh, I was the same as you, 800 or so years ago. I just put the blame on the people who can't solve their own problems!" Cavaron consoled Aimi, while deliberately yelling the last sentence. Everybody around them gripped their weapons tightly and grit their teeths from their seething frustration from the truth.

The large group of two hundred Azuals emerged and came within striking distance. They were brandishing weapons, and many of were crude. That is, if one were to ignore their appearances. Demons with half a wing, humans and angels with one feather wing and one scaly wing, crossbreeds born from the mix of all three races and inheriting all of their racial traits. From strength to speed, from vitality to intellect.
Cavaron placed his hand on Aimi's head, "Since you're still new, I'll handle this. Be sure to watch and observe carefully what I'm about to do." and said with a smile.
Cavaron left the quivering Aimi and summoned his Blood and Mana Swords. The others around them felt the raw power emanating from him and turned to look. The moment they did so, the Azual attacked.
"KILL THEM ALL!!!" an Azual screamed.
Gulfried, Ethra, and Esserot immediately barked orders to the soldiers. "Shields up! Weapons drawn! Let none of these Azual live! For Edeortha!!!"
A skirmish between two hundred Azuals against one hundred soldiers of the three races erupted within the mana-well of Kalbata Forest. However, right before the two armies made contact, Cavaron released a pair of massive <
'Dammit! Why isn't he the hero!?' Gulfried cursed as he thought about the meeting before. Indeed, one would kill to have a hero like Cavaron, but that is only because he was standing on top of a mana-well.
Cavaron stared at the ground below him and revealed a smile, 'Well, since I don't really have a proactive role, I'll just call that guy to accompany Aimi.' and thought of summoning a contract.
A moment after that thought, he stabbed both of his swords into the ground. He crouched down and began focusing the mana from the well into his body.
"Spirits of the guardians of man! Masters of the shield, protector of the weak, I summon thee as your master to aid in my great need! Let the hearts of evil shudder at the might of your power! Come forth, Aegis of life, Burkhard!"
Immediately after his chant, a shield appeared in mid-air, along with a humanoid forming behind it. "The Spiritual Aegis responds to your call, Master." the spirit Burkhard spoke.
Not only does Cavaron have contracts to powerful elementals, he also has contracts with a variety of spirits. Elementals and Spirits differ only from their origin. Elementals are born from the elements of Fire, Earth, Wind, Water, Thunder, Ice, Light, and Darkness. Spirits, however, can come from a variety of everyday objects, a shield, a sword, a piece of armor, a book, an amulet. Spirits are objects that gained life through time from the sentiments of the people around them. Burkhard was born from a shield carried by a once powerful king who fought until the end to protect his people.
"Burkhard, protect that girl over there until I say otherwise." Cavaron ordered the spirit as he stood up and pulled out his swords. Burkhard immediately followed the order and went to Aimi's side. Immediately, he erected a barrier upon arrival. "Greetings, lady. My name is Burkhard, and I am an Aegis Spirit." he bowed to the girl on the ground.
Aimi hurried to stand up to bow as well, like how a proper Japanese should, but was stopped by Burkhard, "No need to return any courtesies. It is part of my duty, therefore, please relax as Master finishes his task."
Burkhard appeared to be a fully-armored knight and wore an armor similar to Cavaron's, a Teutonic Maximillian complete with a helmet but silver in color. From his voice, he sounds around the age of past fifty years, an old gentleman, so to speak. Despite his voice and mannerisms, his barrier is no joke. It didn't even shake from the stray attacks that pelted it. Truly a Spiritual Aegis that can put Shamira's <
A group of thirty Azual broke through the lines and arrived before Cavaron, as though undeterred by his recent show of force. Right before a winged-wolf Azual struck its claws at Cavaron, its arm fell and its head was lopped off without giving it time to howl as it died. Even Aimi had to close her eyes at this scene.
"Aimi! Watch closely! This is the unfortunate life these selfish bastards brought us into! There are only two ways about it, go forward and live or die without a fight!" Cavaron howled as he sliced up three more Azuals with little to no effort. Four Azuals died by his hand in mere seconds. "Be thankful to the gods of fate that you grabbed me! Otherwise, you would be dead by now!" He screamed and released an oppressive bloodlust that even affected the three races' soldiers and their leaders.
'Cavaron-senpai... so much anger, so much sadness...' Aimi felt it too, 'Frustrations incomparable to my own...' The Japanese have a strange way of understanding the hearts of others.
The twenty six Azuals before him evn tried to attack Aimi and Burkhard, but because of Burkhard's barrier, they were all ineffective. This left them to become easy pickings as the Blood Sword killed them and smeared blood all over the barrier. When the last Azual near them fell, Aimi saw Cavaron's apologetic face looking straight into Aimi's eyes. Cavaron turned to attend to the remaining Azuals and left Aimi to the care of Burkhard.
'Master, I hope that tragedy a hundred years ago does not haunt you still.' Burkhard thought about the well-being of his master. It seems that he, too, was there to witness everything. As per his duty, he protected Aimi until the battle ends.
Gulfried and the others saw the astonishing power of Cavaron, and were still baffled by the fact that he was not the hero they summoned. By some stroke of luck, the heroine they summoned brought along a powerful potential ally.
