I look at the child who managed to kill my chaser. I'm confused and quite frankly worse for wares. I look at her and can see her calling out to me. I can't clearly hear her through the beeping sound in my ears.
As my hearing slowly returns I can finally begin to understand what the child has been calling out to me.
"you...Hello.....Can....me.....Hello."
About ten minutes pass before I finally understand her again.
"Hello, you! I have questions for you mister!" she calls out.
"Well, I could say the same thing to you."I reply lazily.
"how do you know about Frankenstein?" she asks me.
"What?" I answer bewildered, not really expecting that question.
"You called that other guy Frankenstein right?? You did call him that right? Where did you hear that name?"
Trying to figure out the situation I decide to use appraise on the little girl.

"This is quite the surprise." I say voicing my thoughts.
"What are you talking about?"She says unnerved by the situation.
"Your name is Elizabeth right?" I ask calmly.
"How did you know that? Who are you?" She asks me clearly still panicked.
"It appears you and I share a similar fate. You also reincarnated right?"
"Reincarnated? What...What...What does that mean?" She asks while stuttering in panic.
I look once more at the child sitting in front of me.
'How old can she be? I don't claim to be an expert in guessing devil girl ages. But she doesn't seem to be older than 10.'
"Well, it means that we originally were from another place and somehow we have ended up here." I explain while reminiscing a bit.
The girl's eyes widen at my explanation.
"that's exactly what happened to me mister!" she yells recognizing her own situation.
"Which country did you come from Elizabeth?" I ask trying to calm the child.
"I'm from England." She answers clearly happy to be able to talk about her situation.
"But mister.....What is going on?" She asks timidly.
"sigh, Listen, Elizabeth it's complicated and I also don't know everything."
I do my best to explain to little Elizabeth. I tell her how she probably passed away and is now part of this new world. All this in terms that a child of I think 10 could understand. She seems to understand what I'm saying as her face gives away plenty of reactions.
Tears roll down her face as soon as I finish explaining.
"What Wha What should I do mister? I'm scared. All these people are so scary. "
'I probably shouldn't tell her that she's quite famous in this city.'
The young girl in front of me looks nothing like my sister. Yet I can't help but have this strange familiar feeling overwhelm me.
"Would you like to stay with me for the time being?" I ask the child.
She thinks about it for a moment. Probably realizing that she doesn't know anything about me.
"You seem better than those other people...Okay then." She answers shyly.
"Well Elizabeth, follow me then."
"Okay..... What should I call you mister?" She still asks shyly.
"i don't really have a name. My old one brings back unpleasant memories" I answer.
"Then...Could I call you brother?"She asks in this cute voice.
I pause for a second. being called big brother made me think of my little sister once more. I still remember how the teachers would call us copies of each other. They weren't wrong, we both had green-colored eyes and brown curling hair. Even our parents had trouble telling us apart.
Elizabeth meanwhile looks at me expectantly.
"......." After a brief pause, I respond.
"Sure, why not?." I answer her with a lump in my throat.
She is clearly happy with my permission as for the first time I see her smile.
I hold out my hand and she quickly grabs it.
holding hands and with this new feeling of responsibility on my shoulders, we make our way back towards the tavern.
