Solitude's Requiem
A Bond Broken

A Bond Broken

Uzarai stands up, still seemingly recovering from the impact of being thrown into the arena's wall. His silver broken English cutlass still in hand, he prepares himself to battle once more.

Absolutely livid because of the excruciating pain that the acid is causing me, I create my wings of mana as I rush at him with incredible speed. The even fight starts to turn into a full onslaught. Uzarai is clearly out of his comfort zone without his second sword, and I am not calm enough to be pitying his situation.

His silver short sword clashes with my spear once more, absorbing blood from it. Seeing him stand in close proximity to me, I dispel the spear, it vanishes instantly. Having no resistance, Azurai unwillingly continues his momentum toward me. I quickly grab his hand wielding the short sword, whilst also getting a hold over his neck. His second step might make him faster and his weapons might have tricks, but Uzarai does not have the insane amount of strength a commander-level warrior should have. Getting a hold of the wrist wielding his last sword, I start twisting it while keeping pressure on his neck. Uzarai is in trouble as he tries to find a way out of my hold over him. Thanks to my blood-enhanced physical prowess, I quickly manage to make him drop his sword. His left hand getting more and more twisted, He responds by kicking me in the stomach. His kick while executed brilliantly doesn't carry enough power to make me flinch. I use the hand that's straggling him to start bashing him into the closest arena wall. I manage to bash him about 10 times on the wall before I throw him back in the middle of the arena.

“That was quite a painful stab you managed to land.” I say in a cold voice whilst massaging the regenerated shoulder blade.

“You're quite the heavy hitter.” He answers, worn out and completely battered from being slammed against the wall. His spine might not be broken, but his back and left hand seem severely injured.

“You should surrender, Uzarai.” I say, calming my aura, seeing that this fight is already decided.

“I can't, I have an order to follow, after all.” He says whilst standing up, his fist raised, prepared to fight me once more.

“Ah, that.” I say clicking my tongue unimpressed. Looking in the crowd, I search for his sister and master. I find them pretty quickly, the master seems furious and Uzalla is trying to keep a straight face but is failing miserably.

'They do cherish their blood kin.' I think to myself noticing the stern woman trying to hide her anxiety about losing her brother.

Uzarai charges toward me, in an attempt to gain a quick merciful death, or maybe he truly thought I was distracted. Anyway, I kick him in the stomach, kicking the air out of him. Seeing him in this defenseless state, I grab his long black hair and swipe his legs. Implanting his face into the ground, summoning my blood bound spear, I aim towards the back of his neck.

“Stay still, Uzarai. It will all be over soon.” I say in a threatening tone. Striking his neck a woman could be heard shouting in despair and anguish. My blood bound spear impales the back of his neck slightly as I struck the runic enslavement spell. Using the blood magic of my spear, I send my blood in the enslavement spell.

“I don't know if this is going to hurt, so good luck.” I say calmly whilst sending even more blood into the runic enslavement spell. The sound of shattering chains could be heard as the runes disappear from his neck.

“It seems like it worked.” I say out loud turning to look at Uzalla and that serpent demon who enslaved them. Uzalla seems in shock as she continuously scratches the back of her neck.

'They were connected, I guess that makes sense they did have each other mutually bound.' I note to myself mentally.

The serpent demon who managed to enslave them is clearly shocked, his eyes darting between the 2 dremora warriors who he considered his possessions.

“How did you do it?” A male's carefree voice asks behind me, still feeling beaten up from my previous hits.

“Well, the enslavement contract was bound by your blood and an acquaintance of mine told me that the best way to undo an enslavement contract would be by managing to override the method of binding. My blood has grown stronger and more potent thanks to my expertise in blood magic, thus I used my blood to override the binding method plus I'm far stronger than that slippery snake so that wasn't an issue either.” I explain still looking at the serpent demon and Uzalla.

The serpent demon tries to escape but the freed Uzalla seems to have other plans as she's holding him by the scalpel, leaving him no chance to escape. I turn around towards Uzarai, spear aimed at his neck once more.

“Do you surrender?” I ask him in a cold tone, showing that I have done my part and have no problem killing him if he refuses.

“I surrender!” Uzarai shouts clear for everyone to hear. His face is a bit more upbeat I believe, it's hard to see… Maybe I shouldn't have smashed his face into the ground that hard.

A small tinge of guilt plagues my mind as Uzarai gives me a quick nonchalant wave before walking off. The crowd launches a mix of cheers and boos as they were satisfied with the fight, but not with the way it ended.

'You can never please them all.' I think jokingly not really bothered by the crowd's opinion.

A smile forms on my face as I look once more at the serpent demon panicking whilst Uzalla has an evil smile on her face.

'Well, I wonder what's going to happen to you.' I think whilst making my way towards my companions.
