I got beaten. For my echo's sake, I would like to say that I fought fairly well. However, I've discovered a weakness in my fighting style. Magic with the purpose of disrupting my arcane flow.
The spells or magic I tend to have specific purposes. However, while they do seem to be able to affect my opponents, it seems that they can be easily destroyed by someone with arcane knowledge.
The opponents I've faced till this moment have all been dumb, strong brutes who were easily tricked. I doubt that in this prestigious tournament, I will face any people who will be more talented in the ways of magic.

Three months have passed since my first duel with Argillis, and we have continued to face each other since then. We duel once every week, as Argillis does have other duties. I simply use the chance to practice myself. My focus at the moment is to develop my own defensive or at least disruptive type of spell. Tharnomath suggested that I should probably try and make use of my ritualistic knowledge and combine this with my soul magic.
Soul magic is a new type of magic that I managed to learn in these few months. It was rather easy since I am a soul devourer. I asked Ashmodai for help, and he helped me create some soul magic spells. They tend to be rather draining as they target the essence of your opponent.
In short, I've become stronger and more diverse these days yet still not strong enough for Argillis.

Eli has also been rather busy in her training. Well, it's only theoretical at the moment, as we're having trouble finding out what her magic capabilities are. She seems to be more confident these days as Idrilth has been doing its best to teach her more about Appolyian.
I asked Idrilth why she doesn't teach her how to use a weapon, seeing as he/she is a knight. Well, Eli is simply not physically strong enough to wield one. This is rather strange considering she has [Enhanced Power] as an ability. Her frail body worries me as we suspect that something else might be at play.
'I should probably ask her more about her reincarnation.' I think worryingly.
'I tried to avoid the topic, fearing that it would bring up potential trauma she's hidden. But if it has to do with her frail state, then it could be problematic.'
Having these thoughts play in my head, I decided to stop researching defensive orientated spells and decide to look for information about summoned reincarnates.
I know that she is a [summoned Reincarnate] and she also has the title [Master Slayer]. These 2 could be connected or separate, I honestly have no clue. They do seem to be the only 2 that could carry a dark past behind them.
[Ritualistic experiment] is clearly a traumatic one, however, I won't be able to pinpoint what it was. At least not without her knowing.
[Spiritual Companion] is one that probably won't be connected. While Cornelius does talk a lot, he hasn't given me a trauma….not yet anyway. The suspicious thing is here that we haven't seen it. Cornelius hides as demons would try and actively kill him, he says. But I know for certain that Eli was reincarnated in Lucille's Light, so her spirit companion should be demonic or at least accepted in the city.
Her innocent smiling face pops up in my thoughts as I search for a possible explanation. A warm feeling envelops my mind as I continue searching.
'I will find an answer.' I promise to myself.
