Chapter 109: The Cyan Beast

At that moment, a powerful aura emanated from the fissure, and Brandon felt a sense of impending danger. Suddenly, his heart skipped a beat, and he swiftly moved to the side. A shadowy figure brushed past him, its claws scraping against his thick scales, sparking a trail of fire. Despite his formidable defense, a few fine cracks appeared on his scales.

Pain shot through Brandon’s body as he rapidly retreated, shocked by the creature’s speed. If it weren’t for his strong defense, that attack would have severely injured him.

The creature moved rapidly, creating afterimages as it approached Brandon. Its high-speed movement seemed to encounter no air resistance, producing no sound. The beast was so fast that Brandon couldn’t clearly discern its appearance. It was a cyan-colored giant, about seven to eight meters long, with a very light and agile body.

Sparks flew again as the creature struck Brandon. He barely managed to raise his claws in defense. Slowly retreating, Brandon’s massive tail waved through the air, searching for an opportunity to counterattack.

The creature showed no intention of backing down, running rapidly and leaving a trail of afterimages as it pressed toward Brandon. His claws swung and his tail lashed out, but he couldn’t land a single hit on the beast.

On the contrary, sparks continued to fly from Brandon’s body. Despite his strong defense, the pain was intense, and his scales began to crack, with thin streams of blood trickling down. This one-sided battle, where he could only endure hits without countering, frustrated Brandon immensely.

As Brandon fought and retreated, blood kept flowing from his wounds. His attempts to strike back were futile, as he couldn’t even touch his opponent. The pain grew more intense, and broken scales fell to the ground with dull thuds.

The excruciating pain sharpened Brandon’s focus. He fixed his gaze on the creature, gradually abandoning his full-body defense. Instead, he only protected critical areas with his claws.

Seeing Brandon seemingly give up resisting its attacks, the creature assumed he had lost hope due to its overwhelming speed. It let out a triumphant screech and attacked even more frequently. However, it was puzzled by the hardness of Brandon’s body, as even its sharp claws could only scratch the surface.

Sparks continued to light up Brandon’s body, with his wounds increasing in number. Most of his scales began to shatter, peeling off like broken glass and leaving his flesh exposed and bloodied.

The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

The injuries on Brandon’s body caused his Golden Bell Shield technique to circulate faster and faster, making his inner power more active. Gradually, his inner power formed a faint golden film over his body. Instead of slowing down, his inner power accelerated, surging through his meridians like a rampaging wild horse. It suddenly took a path it had never traveled before, making the golden film on his body thicker, almost solid, and seemingly gaining a reflective quality.

The creature's attacks slowed down noticeably after the formation of the golden film. It found it increasingly difficult to harm Brandon, and the strong rebound effect made it hard to control its movements with each strike. The creature started to pause momentarily.

Unaware of the changes in his Golden Bell technique, Brandon focused intently on the creature, analyzing its movement patterns. Over time, he entered a unique state where he could predict the creature's next moves. By observing the swing of its tail, the motion of its head, and the twitching of its muscles, Brandon could accurately forecast its attack direction. Though this was just a vague intuition, Brandon found it to be highly reliable, almost always predicting the attacks correctly.

At one point, the creature paused in mid-air. Brandon snapped out of his unique state and swung his massive tail at the creature. The sheer power of his tail produced a terrifying howl as it cut through the air, sending a fierce gust of wind ahead of it.

The violent wind lifted the creature's fur, making each strand stand on end.

The creature let out a sharp screech, seemingly using the wind to its advantage, and twisted its body in an eerie, lightning-fast maneuver, creating an afterimage in the air. It appeared to teleport to a nearby clearing.

Brandon’s tail smashed through the afterimage and hit the ground with tremendous force, shaking the earth and producing a deafening crash. Debris flew everywhere, as if the area had been bombarded. As the dust settled, a deep crater emerged on the ground.

The creature stood in the clearing, no longer attacking. Its round eyes were filled with fear, and it panted heavily, clearly terrified by the recent events.

Brandon finally got a good look at the creature. It was covered in long, cyan fur, which seemed very soft and fluttered gently in the breeze. It was about seven to eight meters long, with a narrow body and a fox-like head that looked particularly cunning.

Most striking were its four strong legs, covered in dense cyan scales, with claws over half a meter long that gleamed with a cold blue light, looking exceptionally sharp like daggers.

The creature curiously eyed Brandon but didn’t dare approach. It bared its sharp teeth at Brandon, letting out a piercing cry, seemingly issuing a warning. Before Brandon could react, it dashed toward the fissure, disappearing in a few swift bounds.

Brandon couldn’t do anything about the creature’s incredible speed. He shook his head, feeling frustrated by the battle with such an agile opponent. It was then that he noticed the changes in his own body. A layer of what seemed to be a solid golden film now covered him, with mysterious symbols rapidly flowing across its surface, constantly appearing and disappearing.
