Chapter 25 - To be a King

Me and the girls woke up early this morning and made our way to the palace, after yesterdays bour between me and the Beast King I am now the ruler of this Kingdom.

Although I am ruling in theory the public has not been notified yet, I don't plan to keep any of them in this poverty stricken Kingdom. They will be given the option to live in my Space Kingdom where they can live happily with full stomachs.

Those who do not wish to join my Kingdom may stay here, they will still be under my rule but I plan to completely remodel this Kingdom. I have big plans of a world hub, and with this giant boom of land under my control I can truly get the word of the Space Kingdom out to the public.

It has not been so easy to advertise a Kingdom that does not exist in this world but within my dimension, I plan to demolish the palace in the middle and make it a huge gate leading to the Space Kingdom. This will allow my citizens to roam freely between Gaia and Space Kingdom, and also introduce an influx of tourists to my Kingdom.

The only step I need to take now is to claim the throne, I do not know what the ex King wishes to do... But if he want's to live happily with his daughter I will welcome them to my Kingdom with open arms, not everyone is meant to rule and I could tell he falls in that category.

"Todays a big day girls, please make a good example to our new citizens as you will rule over them as well one day."

"Y-you can't just say stuff like that..."

"Don't get ahead of yourself master, I don't see a ring on our fingers yet!"

Sophy's cheeks have completely flushed red, but I can see Abby pouting. I keep teasing them with being a Queen in the future, I know what I'm implying to them at such a young age but their reactions are adorable.

"When we are of age you can expect that, for now is my words not enough?"

"....Idiot"

Abby punches me in response to my provocations, but her face says another story.

We keep teasing each other as we make our way to the palace, as I see the state the Kingdom and people are in I can't help but think I made the right choice overthrowing the King.

We are now standing in front of large iron gates before the palace, but we are greeted completely different then we were yesterday.

The guards and on one knee before us, I can see Tiberius and his daughter standing on the balcony looking at us at the gates. the Princess has a giant smile on her face, but I can see the sweat rolling on Tiberius forehead as he soon has to abdicate the throne.

"Welcome your Majesty, sorry for our rude behavior yesterday it will not happen again"

"Please forgive us your Majesty!"

"Raise your heads, I do not hold anything against you. Now please open the gates we have a big day today, I can trust you to keep the peace?"

"YES"

They both yelled in unison before standing up and opening the gates to the palace.

We swiftly walk past the gates and into the palace, we see the rude butler from yesterday glaring at us with hatred as we enter the audience hall. He is clearly not trying to hide his disgust with us even though I am now his ruler, should I punish him? Or should I allow him to spite me forever?

"You what is your name again?" I said coldly as I pointed at him.

"My name is Augustus"

"I think you are forgetting something in your reply no?"

"You are not my King"

He spit at the floor after answering me...

"Warp"

I teleport behind him then kick him behind his knees forcing him onto them, I walk around him and look him in the eyes.

"There that is much better, know your place Augustus."

Completely shocked that he couldn't follow my movements at all, the only thing he could do is be quiet... Is this how the King lost he thought.

"Please go easy on him... He has served me a long time your Majesty..."

The King seeing me punish his attendant tries to stick up for him, but upon me returning his gaze he goes quiet.

"Now that this is settled... Have you made the arrangements Tiberius? What will you do after you leave the throne, you may join my Kingdom or you may leave."

"I was originally going to leave and become an adventurer again... But my daughter has convinced me to give your Kingdom a chance... So please look over us."

"Good I have big plans, if you prove yourself useful I may give you a higher position where you can help me break the barrier between humans and beast-kin."

"That may not be possible, your Majesty."

"I understand the discrimination your people went through, but you need to know that is not allowed in my Kingdom. Everyone learns to work together and those who refuse will be removed from the Kingdom."

"You will abandon all those people who refuse to get along? That's madness!"

"Maybe so, but if people aren't willing to move forward to better the lives of everyone then they have no part in my Kingdom. They would be nothing but a hinderance."

*Gulp*

"I see... Well please allow me to talk to them before you abandon them. Everyone here has been through allot, and they may not be so quick to adjust."

"I understand, very well you may speak with those who resist."

"Thank you, your Majesty..."

"Now if I'm not mistaken we have something to do right now no?"

"Yes it is time, the people will soon gather around the palace... Let us make our way to the balcony."

"Lead the way."

After looking around I noticed the girls were no longer next to me. I quickly glance around the room and see them playing with Princess Reyna, they are all giggling together and running around the room while me and Tiberius are having a serious conversation. I sometimes forget we are only 10 years old, I guess this much is normal...

"Girls we need to be ready soon, please freshen up and meet us on the balcony."

"Yes Onyx!"

"Yes Master!"

"I understand your Majesty!"

They run off together to the exit of the audience hall... They are helpless sometimes, but it's good they are happy. I will do anything to keep that smile on their face even if I have to make the world my enemy...

"Let us go to the changing room Space King, you can't take the throne while in civilian clothes."

"That will not be a problem, I do not wish to be a fake King. I will wear what I have on, I do not need to put on a fake look for my people they can see me for who I really am."

"That's nonsense! They need to know you are royalty that is how they will respect you!"

Tiberius confused by my words, but I do not pay them any attention. I do not care if they respect me as royalty or not, as long as they are happy I do not need the extra admiration.

"I do not need their respect, I will earn it through my actions not my clothes."

"Okay... I understand."

Tiberius still not completely sure what to make with Onyx's words, but he seems to understand his intent. Actions speak louder then anything else, maybe he would do good in the Space Kingdom if he proves himself!

Two hours have passed and we are all gathering before the balcony, I can hear the roars and cheers of the people as they are about to hear from their King... I just hope they have the same energy when I begin ruling over them.

I hear the door open behind me and the three girls come out wearing long flowy dresses with gloved to match going up to their elbows.

"B-beautiful"

I said without even realizing it, after realizing what I did I couldn't help but look away to hide my embarrassment.

"It worked"

"It did, master called us beautiful"

"I told you a good dress will make any man fall for you!"

The two girls are poking fun at me, but I can see the Princess was the one who set this all up... Thank you Princess I will remember this moment for as long as I live!

"Your Majesty, could I kindly ask you to stop drooling over my daughter unless you plan to marry her!"

Tiberius completely ruined the moment, but I will respect him as a father and stop staring. I never noticed but Princess Reyna is really pretty, almost like a western model back on earth.

"Yes while it's to early for any of that... She is gorgeous, you did a good job Tiberius."

"Now let us begin, the people are waiting. I will allow you to go first to break the ice, and I will follow after you abdicate the throne."

"Understood, wish me luck..."

I sit down on the chairs next to the door waiting for the peoples reactions to Tiberius's words.

"MY PEOPLE! Thank you for all coming out here to listen to me!"

*Indistinct cheering*

"Today is a big day! I have been bested in a dual and a new King has been born."

*Silence*

"The king was bested?"

"No way right?"

"Who is the new King?"

"Why are we just now hearing about this?"

"Will the new King actually take care of us?"

"This could be what we needed no?"

"Long live the new King"

The crowd goes restless with the questions and Tiberius just waits before continuing to let them get it all out of their system.

"Some of you may have heard of him, your new King is the Space King. Otherwise knows as King Onyx!"

"No way...." A large bear man said under his breath, as he only just seen the Space King this morning in his inn....

"Space King? Never heard of him."

"Who is the Space King"

"What is going on? Space King?"

"Now I will bring him out to meet you all, please be respectful as he is your new ruler."

Upon hearing Tiberius call for me I make my way out there.

Something I have been working on for a while will finally be put to use, I have become quite proficient in my spatial attribute and making my own spells with it.

"Speaker"

Small black dots surround the sky above the people, too small to notice immediate but you can see the endless space inside if you squinted at it hard enough.

"Hello everyone!"

My voice echoes loudly in the sky stunning everyone who is below.

"Who is this kid?"

"What kind of magic is this?"

"That kid is the King?"

"SETTLE DOWN"

The crowd goes silent again after hearing the tone in my voice get serious.

"I am the King of the Space Kingdom, I have been here for the last three days and have seen the situation here pretty well... This Kingdom looks to be a shell of what I imagine it use to be, poverty has struck everyone and with that you are all hungry and angry at everyone. Especially the Humans who refuse to trade with you all, I understand your hatred and I also understand your situation...."

Before continuing I look out to the crowd, their confused faces soon turned to sad ones for they can not argue with what I have been saying. It's all true and they acknowledge that deep down, so the only thing they can do is listen and hope I do something to fix it.

"What would yall say if I offered you citizenship to the Space Kingdom. Where no one goes hungry, people are happy and racism is not tolerated"

*Silence*

"You may not trust me now, but please allow me to prove it to everyone. For those willing to put your trust in me step through the portal, for those who are hesitant know I will not abandon you. But I do not tolerate racism and discrimination, so if you can not accept that you may leave now."

"Domain"

Putting about half of my mana into the spell I open a large 10 foot portal replacing the Iron gates at the entrance of the palace.

People are hesitating looking at the portal, until someone finally spoke up from the crowd... It was Jason.

"My King I told you before, if a Kingdom like that truly existed I would be the first to join. Now allow me to keep my word, please take care of me from now on!"

Jason locks eyes with me before smiling, he steps through the portal. The people seeing him go through begin to feel inspired, I can see the hesitation turn to smiles as they finally have been given hope. Even if what I said was not true, it can't be worse then their current situation.

"Please look over me my King"

Before I noticed I see Tiberius jumping down from the balcony and making his way to the portal. He stares up at me with a smile.

"Actions speak louder then words remember! Please allow me to prove myself."

He gets on top of the marble wall next to the gates where the portal is at.

"Everyone this is Tiberius your former King, from now on please call me Tiberius for I am merely a citizen as yourselves. I am putting my faith in King Onyx, for those who are hesitant please allow me to take responsibility for any misfortune you have been through... I have not been a good king, but allow me to make up for my mistakes. This is our chance for salvation, lets not allow ill feeling ruin that for us."

After expressing his feeling to the people he jumps down and enters the portal, he does not look back as nothing else is worth saying in this moment.

"What the hell, I pledge my loyalty"

"Me too!"

"I will prove my loyalty through actions"

"Anything for the new King"

"Long live the Space King"

"This is my life now..."

"Hello food, I'm on my way!"

"Let's go children, we new home is inside"

"Please take care of me"

The crowd starts to slowly dwindle until there is only four people left looking at the portal. One of them is the obnoxious butler, the two guards watching over the portal and a small fox child.

I warp down to the small girl and get down on one knee to talk to her.

"Hey what's your name? Mine is Onyx."

"I...It's Lizzy...My King"

"May I ask why you haven't entered the portal?"

"I...I'm scared"

"Where is your parents Lizzy?"

"Dead...I am alone, I live on the streets."

"I am sorry for your loss... I tell you what, I will enter with you. You will no longer live on the streets I promise!"

The little girls eyes light up at Onyx's words, she is not use to acts of Kindness.

I stand up and reach my hand out to her, then look up to the girls on the balcony.

"Please make your way down to the portal girls"

Then looking over to the guards and the butler.

"You two, I promise you will be able to join soon. But for now please watch over the portal"

"Yes your Majesty"

"Augustus I take it you will not be joining us?"

"I have yet to make my mind... Your Majesty"

"Think hard about it, the offer won't be taken away any time soon."

"Yes..."

"Okay Lizzy shall we go?"

"You promise I won't live on the streets anymore?"

"I swear on my life as your king, you will no longer be homeless."

"I'm ready"

Her grip on my hand tightens, I can see her eyes go wide as she is thinking about all the possibilities that are beyond the portal.

I slowly lead her into the portal, as I step in I can see everyone looking around in awe. Some are still staring blankly as Admin is reading the rules of the world to them.

*Welcome back Master*

"Thank you Admin, please see to it these people are lead to their homes and organized into jobs that suit them."

*Not a problem master, who is the little girl you are holding?*

"This is Lizzy her family is dead, and she has no one to care for her. Please treat her well and provide her with a place to live, I will look into foster parents for her at a later time."

*Understood Master*

"King Onyx! How are you it's been a long time."

"Heya Brock, I have a question for you"

"What is it my King?"

"This girl here is Lizzy, can you please take care of her until we get her living situation figured out. I made a promise and I do not wish to break it!"

"The King is very noble isn't he Lizzy"

"Yes... He is nice to me"

"Come with me, I will care for you until we can get you acclimated here."

Brock reaches out to Lizzy and she takes his hand. With a quick wave at me the two of them head for Brocks forge, I can only think he is going to make her a cashier for his smithy. But I know he will treat her well, hopefully even adopt her as a daughter of his own but that is just a hunch of mine.

I climb to the top of the statue in the middle of the city, they made a 10 meter statue resembling me... Although I wish they would of done this when I was older and not a child.

"Hello everyone! I take it you all heard and agreed to the rules of my Kingdom?"

*The crowd agree, looking allot more willing to comply.*

"I'm sure you are all eager to start your new lives, there is something everyone must know before continuing their lives here. The time here works differently then Gaia, if you look up you will see the world clocks made from stars. Every 1 hour in Gaia is 10 hours here, please keep that in mind when you plan to go back and forth between the two. Now please get together with your family and find an open house for you to settle down, after you are situated you will be sorted into jobs that fit you personally."

"Yes your majesty"

"We get homes for free?"

"That's too good to be true no?"

"Don't question it, lets go kids"

"This is the best Kingdom already"

"Is there really no racism"

"Food please"

Soon someone stepped through the portal after everyone has dispersed to house hunt.

"Welcome Augustus, I must say I didn't expect you to come."

"I saw what you did for that girl... I think our people needs a kind King."

He looks around for a bit starstruck by the town surrounded in stars.

"This place is incredible, I accept to the rules"

"Thank you, as I said to the others 10 hours here is 1 hour in Gaia. Please remember that, and please join the others and choose a house to live in."

"Yes, thank you your Majesty."

Augustus bows at me, I can't help but smile thinking this was a complete success. Everyone seems happy, but I feel like poverty will do that to just about anyone with nothing to lose. I just hope they keep those smiles while they live here.

Not forgetting the girls I tell Admin bye, and make my way outside of the portal. I have allot to do still inside the Beast Kingdom, or I should say Space Kingdom now. This will soon be a world hub to advertise the Space Kingdom, if others wish to trade that could also be beneficial.

Before any of that is possible... I need to demolish all these run down houses and shops, the architecture needs to be completely removed in order for me to plan it the way I want too.

The three girls are standing before me as I exit the portal smiling at me, as this day has been a success.

"Do you girls wanna do something fun?"

"W-what do you have planned master!" Abby said seductively as she twirls her hair.

The girls go cherry red thinking about what Abby just implies...

"That's not what I'm talking about... Watch this."

I walk over to a worn down building a few meters from the gate.

*Crunch*

I punch the wall as hard as I can caving in the side of the building as it slowly falls down collapsing half the building.

"We need to remove all these old building, do not worry I won't waste the materials."

I store the crumbles bricks in my storage, I'm sure we can put the excess materials and wood to use for our Kingdom.

"Are you asking us to destroy the Kingdom?"

"Seriously?"

"Isn't that treason, your Majesty?"

"That's exactly what I'm asking, and no it's not treason as it is my Kingdom and I am giving you permission."

After looking at each other they put on a mischievous smirk, surprisingly Sophy was the first one to take action.

*Hiyahhh*

She karate chops the side of a wooden shop stall, the wood breaks and snaps after impact. I can't help but be surprised since when did she get so strong?

"This is fun!"

She wipes a bead of sweat off her forehead, upon seeing that the girls all start running around smashing up wooden stalls and building that they can actually damage.

"These girls are crazy...But I shouldn't get lazy either."

I turn to look at the two guard who are just watching, I can see a hint of jealousy in their eyes.

"You two are also helpless... Go ahead have your fun as I will have more work for you later."

Their eyes light up at my words and they don't even waste a second.

"THANK YOU YOUR MAJESTY"

They bow at me before running down the streets destroying everything in their path.
