Chapter 18 - Moment of truth

"Domain"

Onyx was using his new found powers to go directly to his domain to enter through the door leading to his room. This is his way of achieving teleportation without having to expend all his mana with constant spatial jumping.

*Welcome back master, you had some visitors while you were away*

"Oh did Sophy and Abby stop by?" He asked curiously, as they are the only ones who know about his door.

*No master, it was your parents. I apologize but it was too late to stop them, I wish you good luck* They said with an apologetic tone.

"O-okay... Well I wanted to tell them myself, but they were going to find out eventually" Onyx sighs in relief, he doesn't exactly see this as a bad thing.

Well I guess I should confront them while the irons still hot.

"Then I should get going, take care Admin." Onyx waves towards the sky before walking into the door on the floating island.

As Onyx walks through the door, he can see his parents sitting on his bed having a deep discussion. They didn't notice Onyx open and close the door, the look on their face seems to be a mixture of shock and happiness.

"U-uh Mom... Dad I think we should talk" Onyx said awkwardly

"That would be nice honey, please sit with us" Emily eyes sparkled seeing Onyx, although she cant quite understand his powers he is still her baby boy.

Onyx squeezes in between them, then stares at the ground to find his resolve. Upon swallowing his nerves he looks back up and starts to explain everything.

"I'm not sure where to start, to be honest I'm scared you will resent me after this." Onyx said sadly

"We will ne..." Emily starts to say before getting cut off by Onyx

"Please just listen before you make promises." Onyx said seriously

"Okay son, please tell us everything." Thomas put his hand on Onyx's shoulder to reassure him.

"I'm from another world called Earth, I died there and my memory of everyone I knew was erased. The Goddess asked me to help save this world, and she reincarnated me as your child. To me you are my parents, my past life means nothing to me. As far as I'm concerned you are my mom and you are my father..." Onyx said while looking them in the eyes, not knowing how they will react.

"You were reincarnated... That would explain all the crazy achievements you are able to do. To be blessed by the Goddess, I am truly jealous." Emily said completely in shock, but now finally understands how her boy is so capable.

"I knew something wasn't right, but nevertheless your mother still birthed you. Whether you are from this world or not, that does not change the fact you are our son."

Quite frankly this is the least shocking news they have both heard today, not more then an hour ago they was told their son was a God. Someone who rules over their own world, and will live forever. So this... this is nothing.

"You don't hate me?" Onyx said with tears filling his eyes

"Why would we hate you, you are still our son. I don't care if you were the Goddess herself, I raised and nurtured you for eight years."

Them seeing Onyx completely overwhelmed becoming a mess of tears and snot, they decide to stop asking questions and comfort him.

Emily and Thomas hug their son tightly, whether he is a King or a God he is still their baby boy. And they will protect him no matter what, that's the job as a parent.

"I... I'm really happy." Onyx murmured while trying to suppress his tears.

"Are you hungry? I think I could use a nice meal right about now." Emily broke the tension with a promise of delicious food

"Y-yes, I love you both!" Onyx quickly hugs both of them, then runs out the room to the bathroom to get cleaned up.

"For a God he sure does cry allot huh... haha some things never change" Thomas laughed while poking fun at his son.

"Be nice, this couldn't have been easy for him to tell us. Honestly if we didn't snoop around his room... he may have never told us." Emily said sadly, she's happy to finally know the truth but wish Onyx told her sooner...

"I'm sure he had his reasons dear, now hurry and make food. You don't want our son to keep crying do you?" Thomas poked Emily's pouty cheeks and walked out the room.

"It can't be helped, you boys are helpless" She said while throwing her arms into the air in protest.

Today is the day Brock departs, he decided to stop by the house before leaving. He wishes to let Thomas know why, in hopes he does not grow to resent him for leaving.

"Please go to your people Brock" Thomas said calmly, honestly he never wished to steal Brock away from his hometown.

Now that he knows that Brock will be moving into Onyx's world with his people, he couldn't be happier for him.

While thinking this Thomas's lips curled, he would have to teach his son how to rule over people. His last two sons had no interest in the subject, but with Onyx already being a King he has no choice in the matter.

"You understand?" Brock said awkwardly

"Yes I understand, in the meantime I will make Onyx a great ruler for your people!" Thomas's voice is full of resolve and commitment.

"Please be easy on the boy, he is already working himself into the ground. Every day he just throws more and more responsibilities on his shoulders... I don't know how he does it, but I am truly thankful for it." Brocks eyes are shining, as if he is praising God himself.

"I will take note of that, honestly I hardly see him anymore. He's always off somewhere training and I guess now building a new world..."

"I'm sure he will make time for you Tom, all you have to do is ask" Brock grabs Thomas's shoulders while consoling him

"Yeah I know... Still I would love to spend more time with him, soon he will be in the Academy and I won't be able to see him every day..."

"You have access to his Domain do you not? I'm sure you will see him more then you think, now that you know his secret he won't have a reason to hide his abilities"

"You have a point! I will go talk to him once you depart." Thomas completely overlooked this, his son is more capable then anyone he's ever met.

"Then allow me to depart, I will be joining your son's Kingdom in three months. Until then may I ask of you to help him, I know how capable he is... But he is still but eight years old, I'm sure he is overwhelmed by our expectations of him."

"I'll do my best old friend, I will be sure to visit you when I can"

"I will await the day Tom, I'll be off then... Take care and thank you for understanding"

Thomas just waves at him as he departs for his homeland.

"Be safe old man" Thomas murmured under his breath before making his way back inside.

Now time to find that boy, I will make him a great ruler. I might even join this new world, the sound of equality for all races... I like the thought of that.

"ONYX! Where are you?" Thomas yelled as he entered the house

*Silence*

Thomas heads to Onyx's room then walks through the door. Once he entered he saw his son in the middle of the island practicing his swordsmanship, he moves so gracefully. It would not be wrong to call him a sword master now, actually that would be underselling Onyx's skill set.

"I found you boy!" Thomas yelled while running over to Onyx

"HUH? DAD... What are you doing?" Onyx yelled as Thomas grabbed his ear and started pulling him to the portal

"It's about time you learn how to be a leader, with your brothers gone I have all the time in the world to teach you!"

"Oh... Okay I will learn, I will need to know if I wish to rule this Kingdom."

"You are much more willing then your brothers, weird." Thomas just smiles and speed up his pace while dragging Onyx by the ear.

You will be a great ruler son, I promise I will teach you everything.

"How much more Onyx" Sophy said while gasping for breath.

"We are almost done Sophy please hang in there."

"My arms are tired master... Please take a break soon" Abby protested the intense physical training.

Onyx has asked for their help in planting crops in the fields. He could do it himself, but having extra hands is definitely a bonus. They do not have to worry about watering the crops, as Admin can just make it rain over them.

But what Admin can't do is plow the fields or plant the crops themselves. So here they are, for the last 5 hours they have been planting an Acre worth of farmland. For now they just stuck with the basic crops such as wheat, corn, barley, and grape vines.

Onyx wishes to get his hands on some fruit tree seeds, but he won't be able to find those in the Quill Estate. Fruit is considered a luxury in this world, so he will need to travel to the capital to purchase them.

In the meantime though Onyx has found a good use for his Domain, since he can control Time itself in here. He takes a few steps back and overlooks the Acre worth of crops... Extends his hand and envisions everything reaching maturity.

"Grow"

The crops start sparkling green and grow to maturity, while this is an amazing achievement he does not wish to overdue it. As that will destroy the soil underneath the crops, turning it useless. This was just to get a head start on the food issue, but he intends to let it grow normally from now on.

"T-that actually worked, crazy." Sophy said while rubbing her eyes

She had just placed the seeds in the holes, and now it's full grown. She has never seen anything like this, but then again... This is Onyx she's talking about, everything he does is new to her.

"You are too powerful Master"

*You seem to be grasping your control over Time, I am impressed master.* Even Admin gives him props on his progress

"H-heh its nothing, Admin do we also have to harvest this ourselves?" Onyx asked in defeat

*I'm afraid so master, if you harvest the crops I can automatically store them for you. So all you have to do is cut them down and let me clean up the mess.*

Onyx's eyes are sparkling, although he has to harvest them that will save him allot of time.

"You are the best Admin!" He yelled out loud

*Your words are too much, I'm just happy to be useful master*

"Well girls, how about we take a break for today. Then we harvest these tomorrow, I still need to collect more trees from the forest." Onyx takes their hands and teleports them in front of the portal leading to his room

"S-sounds good, just please next time allow us to take a break... My hands are killing me!" She yelled while punching Onyx in the arm

"Master is truly evil, making cute girls like us harvest the fields" She crossed her arms while pouting

"I-I'm sorry, please forgive me" Onyx said pleadingly, knowing well he is going to do the same thing tomorrow.

"FINE...But you owe us a date" Sophy said demandingly...

A date? What.... Since when did they want to date, we are still kids...

"YES! That's only fair master" Abby joined in on Sophy's terms

"Once this world is stable, I will take you both out okay? Until then please be patient!" Onyx said in defeat

These girls are truly the death of him... But he strangely doesn't mind it.

"DEAL" They both yelled in unison

The months flew by, in that time I collected well over a thousand trees to line the border of my new Kingdom. As well as planting another acre of farm land, the crops are full grown waiting to be harvested soon by the Dwarfs.

I even started to restrain wild animals such as Boars, Deer and Turkeys in hopes they will breed and soon be a valuable source of protein in my Kingdom. For now they are forbidden to be killed, in a few years when their numbers rise I will allow it.

I also bought a few farm animals and placed them in make-shift fences, the few I bought were Chickens, Cows, Goats and Horses. This will allow the people to perform husbandry more efficiently, and with the cows they can make dairy products such as cheese and cream for deserts.

"Todays the day son, are you ready?" My father asked me proudly, he has been teaching me the dos and don'ts of ruling over people.

"Yes I am, today I become an actual King..." I said nervously

"There is just one problem son, you have yet to name your Kingdom. You can't call it Domain forever..." He looked at me disappointedly

But he is right, I have been debating the name for month and I finally chose one that fits. Heavily influenced by the forever starry sky I decided the name.

"Space Kingdom, that is what it shall be called." I said confidently as I'm proud of the name I came up with

"Huh its got a ring to it, good job kid" He said while messing up my hair

Currently I have Admin placing a bunch of building materials I've acquired over the last few months in a near pile for the Dwarfs. I know they said they wanted everything to be unrefined, but I took the liberty of buying pre-made cloth from merchants in town. I also went ahead and unloaded all the ore I gathered from transporting the mountain into my domain. It's quite the some of ore, but I have a feeling with a town of Dwarfs this is no where near enough...

Me and my father are currently standing in the middle of my Kingdom, the spot I designated the trap door portal to appear to. It's been about 20 minutes now we have been waiting in anticipation...

Just when I thought they would never come, or something happened I saw a large portal open up in front of me.

One by one Dwarfs of all sizes and ages started funneling in, almost like it was choreographed they lined up and took a knee in front of me. They all look completely distracted though but Admin is to blame for that, as they read the rules to all the new residents.

Finally after about two-thousand Dwarfs entered, Brock came out last and gave me a report.

"Hello my King, I have some good news and bad news... Which do you want first?" He said while looking at the ground in disappointment

"Bad news first please" I stated calmly, I did expect there to be hiccups along the way...

"This is only a fraction of my people, we are around 10,000 in total. But I could not convince the others to give up our town and come here, they do not trust Humans... So I had something I wish to ask of you, please make an entrance for them in the future. They won't ever believe this if they don't see it themselves..." He is pretty upset about not being able to convince more then 25% of his people to come over.

"That is very unfortunate, I will see what I can do in the future to accommodate them to change their mind. In the mean time, we do not have the time to worry about that. Everyone still needs to build their homes, and start stocking up on food. I will help you all to the best of my abilities." While it is upsetting that I couldn't bring all the Dwarfs here, I can't neglect the ones that did come. If they others change their mind later I will welcome them with open arms.

"Understood, did you hear that everyone! GET TO WORK!" He yelled out loud, everyone nodded then headed to the large pile of resources to start building.

"Now for the good news Brock?" I asked proudly

"Everyone here is just as committed as me, they can't wait to live in a Kingdom where everyone is equal. This is a dream come true to many, including this old soul..." He said while holding my shoulder before heading over with the rest of the Dwarfs.

"It feels nice don't it son, to make all these people happy... Sometimes that's all that keeps me going as a leader, and I wish you share the same sentiment." He said proudly as he watched the Dwarfs start refining the logs into planks.

"I can't say I'm not scared to rule over people... But I will do my best to make everyone here happy." I said overflowing with resolve

"You will accomplish great things son, honestly I can't wait to see what you do in the future... Me and your mom have been talking, when your brother returns in two years I will give him Lordship of Quill Estate."

He looked down and squeezed his hand into a fist, then looks me in the eyes.

"We wish to move here and live the rest of our lives watching you prosper as a King, will you grant us this wish?" He said without wavering for a second

"I-I don't know what to say father, I won't deny anyone who wishes to live here. That includes both you and mom, I welcome you with open arms." I said before giving him a big hug

"Thank you son, I promise to support you the whole way!" He started to pat my back before bringing me into a deeper embrace.

"Things will soon get hectic once the world finds out about this, I hope you won't back out when that happens father" I smile at him almost trapping him into helping me.

"I'll be here the whole way son!"

This honestly brought me on the verge of tears, him and mom truly do love me... Now I just wish my siblings were here to enjoy this with me, I miss them so much...

"Shall we head back while the Dwarfs get situated father?"

"Lead the way son, I heard your mom is cooking a roast tonight to congratulate you."

My mouth starts drooling immediately

"WHAT ARE WE WAITING FOR?" I scream out loud

"EXIT"

I grab his hand and pull him through the portal, nothing is gonna get in my way from this roast dinner.

"MOM! IM HOME!"

"Sorry dear, I spoiled the surprise. He went mental once he heard what you was making tonight..." My father told my mom apologetically

"It's okay... Dinner is ready please come eat. And congratulations son, or should I say your highness?"

"Stop teasing me, I'm starving"

They both laugh at me, but I could care less. The only thing on my mind right now is food!
