Chapter 17 - Birth of a new Kingdom

{Good morning master} Ember said while glowing brightly

"Good morning Ember, we have a long day today lets go." I quickly grabbed Ember and headed for the door.

Sophy and Abby won't be joining me today, as they are having a day out with Mr. Godfrey. As I will miss them, this gives me the perfect opportunity to visit Mr. Brock and learn some basics for Blacksmithing.

I left early today, as Mr. Brock explained to me. He likes to start early, so he can tend to customers later into the day. So as I'm walking to his smithy the sky is still dark, no sign of the sun anywhere.

The town is eerily empty right now, I've never explored it during this time. But you could get away with describing it as a ghost town as it is right now.

Over the last eight years, I've really come to enjoy and appreciate the little things of this town. The smiles and greetings every day from the town folk, even to the smell of fresh spices lining the stalls.

I have been planning to come clean soon to my parents, with my new ability I will be able to adventure anywhere in the world and still be able to come home at any time. This was not something I wanted to hide from my family, if I can spend time with them I will.

So later today, I'm planning to come clean about everything. I will handle the consequences of those actions when it happens, but I cant help but smile knowing this burden will no longer be on my shoulders.

"We're here" I said to Ember, they have been awfully quiet the whole walk here.

Ember has been pretty quiet the last few days, I attempted to use analyze on them. I didn't know Legendary swords also liked to keep their secrets, they knew pretty much instantly what I was doing. But the weirdest thing happened as I tried, I just got Analyze Failed... Over and over again I tried, but it does not seem like it'll be possible until Ember allows it to be.

{You will find out my abilities when you are ready master} Is what they told me with a serious tone..

My curiosity is blooming, but it seems I do not have a choice in this matter.

"Good morning lad, I take it your ready to learn?" Brock said smiling, almost shocked I actually showed up.

"Y-yes Mr. Brock, I would never break a promise. Please teach me well."

"Hmm I like that about you lad, here follow me" Mr. Brock opens a door leading to a stair case

As I follow him down what feels like 5 floors worth of stairs, I see a huge open space with three forges.

"I see you have more then one forge, do you have other workers Mr. Brock"

"No lad, I made those for times like this. We dwarfs tend to take apprentices nearing the end of our lives, something to pass on to the newer generations." He said it full of price

Nearing the end of their lives? Is Mr. Brock dying? No that cant be...

"U-uh are you dying Mr. Brock?" I said curiously.

"Not even close lad, don't take this personal but I don't take human apprentices as they are not blessed with our racial ability." Brock looked at me awkwardly

"Well i understand your reasonings, but I do in fact have Precision, the racial ability of Dwarfs" I said while poking out my chest

"If what you say is true, then today is going to be a long day lad. I hope you are ready, as I will not be going easy on you." He slammed his hammer down on the counter laughing

"Please teach me well!" I scream with determination

"H-honey are you seeing this?" Emily said in shock as she's standing on a floating island.

*Welcome Emily and Thomas Quill, please listen while I go over the rules of this world* Admin explains to them the main three rules of the Domain.

Emily and Thomas are just standing in shock, as the voice is directly in their head. They just nod and accept the rules, they are still in shock about what is going on around them.

"W-where is Onyx great one?" Emily said in a fearful voice, as if they are scared for their life.

*I am not great, the only one who rules here is Master Onyx* The giant voice said proudly

"ONYX!?" Thomas yelled at the top of his lungs, completely in disbelief.

*Yes master is the owner of this world, or should I say Domain as this was created all by him.*

There was a few moments of silence before Emily finally broke the silence.

"U-uhm I do not wish to impose, but do you know where our son is?" She said almost in a whisper, still gaining the confidence to speak against the voice intruding her head.

*Master said he will be busy today, I do not ask you to wait here. As time moves differently in this Domain, 1 hour of your time in Gaia is 10 hours in here.*

"U-understood, thank you for the advice. I'm still confused though, you said Onyx made this?" She said curiously

*Yes that is correct, Onyx is more powerful then he gives himself credit for. If you are his parents, then you must truly be proud.*

"W-we are proud, thank you. And who are you, Onyx has not mentioned any of this to us yet." Thomas yelled out

*I am nothing but a follower of master, I see him doing great things in the future. I just wish to be there to witness his greatness, helping him manage his Domain is nothing but child's play compared to what he will accomplish. His potential is truly immeasurable, other Gods will soon grovel at his feet* The great voice said proudly, almost as if it is already certain

"O-other Gods? What are you saying Great One?" Emily asked panicked

*My name is Admin, the only Great One is master. Please remember this, as I will not say it again.* Admin's words got very serious

"U-understood!" They yelled in unison

*W-what do you mean other Gods Admin?" Thomas repeated Emily's question

*Exactly as I said, look around you. Do you not think this could be accomplished by anyone other then a God?*

Emily and Thomas step closer to the edge, and as they look around at the endless void and the land below. Nothing escaped their mouths except silence, God huh who would of thought...

*Master does not accept it yet, he wishes to be labeled as King not a God. But he has to know deep down he created a world of his own, and beings who govern worlds are known as Gods. Even if he does not have the power of a true God yet, he is one nonetheless*

"Incredible..." They both said in a whisper

Onyx is a God huh... Who would have thought, this is almost overwhelming. I knew he would accomplish great things, but this is just crazy... I need to talk to him, no we need to talk to him.

"Honey I think we should leave and find Onyx. I must know the truth he has been hiding from us." Emily said while still semi-frozen in shock

Little do they know, Onyx also wishes to tell them the truth. With this series of events everything should be easier on our new God.

"L-lets go dear, thank you for explaining this to us Admin. Until next time" Thomas grabs Emily's hand and pulls her through the portal with him

As they enter their home from the strange doorway, Thomas immediately closes it and falls to his knees.

"G-god huh, impossible..."

"Is that all you got boy! Hammer away the imperfections, they aren't going to do it by themselves!"

Onyx visibly drenched in sweat, he wipes his forehead and keeps hammering.

"I thought I was just watching today master..." He snarled at Brock.

"That was before you became my apprentice, after you learn everything I can retire and die happily" Brock was laughing as he saw Onyx struggle

Onyx regrets ever bragging about his newfound abilities, he has been forging metal into swords for 12 hours now. Seriously does Mr. Brock not have customers to tend to?

*Blacksmithing: C > B*

*Enchanter: C > B*

Seeing his progress Onyx gets another burst of energy to keep going. His skills have now ranked up twice from rank D. He can already notice that his crafts are coming out better and better, almost everyone has rolled an attribute.

"Your progress is truly amazing, it's as if you have been smithing since you were born lad. I knew I chose a great apprentice, how my people will cheer my name knowing a Hero was my apprentice." Brock just stares up proudly

"I... I'm not a Hero yet, but I will do my best as to not embarrass you" Onyx said embarrassed.

"Nonsense lad, but we are done today. I still have a store to run, come back tomorrow we will train more." Brock looks at his apprentice with greedy eyes.

"Uh that won't be possible master, I have to work on my magic and swordsmanship. I do apologize, but I may have a way we can practice longer in between."

Onyx sees this as an opportunity to introduce Brock to his Domain. Having a master blacksmith would be very beneficial in the start of his new Kingdom.

"Well go ahead and spit it out lad" Brock folds his arms waiting in anticipation

"Domain"

A portal resembling the night sky appears in front of them. Onyx chose not to place this on his floating Island, but instead on the ground by the center of his land

"Well after you" Onyx said while nudging Brock

"T-this is impossible right? I've never heard of this even in legends." Completely shocked, and he hasn't even entered yet

"I created this magic master, but please once you enter do not expect me to address you as such. As this is my Kingdom, I cant call you master. I do hope you understand..." Onyx bows to him apologetically, but his resolve is already set.

In this Domain of his, he has to rule over other people. He can not do so if he shows favoritism to others, in this land everyone is equal.

"U-understood lad..." Brock seeing Onyx being serious is a first to him, it's almost suffocating with the amount of pressure this small kid emits.

Brock walks through the portal and the shock truly kicks in... Just what is this kid, this is beyond what humans are able to do...

*Welcome Brock, please listen to the rules as I go over the rules of this world... I mean Domain* Admin fixed his words seeing Onyx enter the portal

After a brief summary Brock just nods and agrees to them.

"A world where everyone is equal no matter the race huh... I never thought I would see the day, I could die tomorrow knowing this..." Brock is starting to get emotional with tears exiting his eyes.

Brock has been subject to discrimination his whole life, he was saved by a human and he's thankful for that. But that does not erase the life time of torment and discrimination him and his people have been put through. Even today, him and his people are the target of kidnappings, to be sold off to rich nobles as a personal smith for their armies. This is truly a wonderful sight to the small Dwarf.

"K-kid when this place is ready, please accept me and my people. I will owe you my life, If you are truly here to protect us... Then you will be our God" Brock gets on his knees and begs to Onyx

"H-hey please stand up, I will take anyone who wishes to be apart of my Kingdom. I will turn no one away, I will help everyone I can, I will make sure life here is peaceful. Those who go against these wishes of mine will not be allowed to live here." Onyx put his hand to his chest as if to swear it

"Y-you are truly a Hero... No you're more then that, you will one day be a God. I already know it..." Brock is saying this with his utmost confidence even with tears falling down his cheek.

"I'm glad you think of me so highly, but I'm not ready for such titles. Please if you wish, here you can refer to me as King. I brought you here for a reason though Mr. Brock, shall we sit for a second and talk?" Onyx said seriously

Onyx grabs Brock and teleports them to the waterfall. He pulls out two chairs from his storage, and places them viewing the water

"Beautiful... You made this lad?" Brock staring at the waterfall with wide eyes

"No you can thank Admin for that, they are truly a blessing to me" Onyx said while looking up, hoping Admin feels his appreciation

*You honor me too much master, I'm just doing my part*

{Master is truly amazing} Ember glows as to not be shown up by Admin

"N-now what did you wish to tell me lad?" Brock gathers his resolve and looks the mini monster... no the mini God in his eyes.

"I wish for your co-operation in this Kingdom of mine. I can't offer you much, but as long as you are living in my domain I can offer you immortality, and my full gratitude."

*Gulp*

Brock doesn't know what to say... Immortality? Is that really possible? But he wouldn't offer it if it wasn't...

"I will help you, I do not know if I wish to live forever. However, if the offer is on the table down the line and I see how great this Kingdom becomes. Then I will gladly accept your offer!" Brock gets on one knee and lowers his head to Onyx

"Please stand up, I wish for you to spread your wisdom among my Kingdom and that will be hard if you die of old age... You see time here flows differently, ten years in here is only one year in Gaia."

"O-oh I see... That does pose a problem then huh lad, I will think about it for now." Brock seemingly accepting my explanation as if it only makes sense

"I can offer you to age at the rate of Gaia as you wish, but your life span will still be 10 times longer then normal." Onyx pleading to him, hoping he takes the deal

"L-lets do that, if I can make my people a place to live safely and prosper... Then I will live 10 lifetimes to make it so." Brock places his hand over his chest and bows

"W-well I'm glad to hear that, but as you can see there is still a lack of everything here. I will gather materials for buildings, if you wish to go home and gather your people." Onyx pulls a small wooden trapdoor out of his storage

He made this specifically for Brock, almost knowing he would accept his offer. You just place this on the ground and jump inside, this will immediately bring you to his Domain. Allowing Brock to be able to come here if he is ever in danger, also allowing him to bring his people directly here instead of guiding them all the way back to the Quill Estate.

Onyx quickly describes how the door works to Brock, and he just nods his head before answering.

"I will miss the Quill Estate, but I know Thomas will understand as he knows my love for my people. I will depart immediately, in the meantime please gather materials. They do not have to be refined, as my people are Dwarfs and can do it ourselves... But we can't do it starving, so you will need to sort that out in the 3 months it takes me to reach my homeland." Brock said seriously, as he does not wish to plummet his people into starvation

"Consider it done Mr. brock, do you hear that Admin. We need farmland, I will leave that to you while I go catch wild game for meat."

*Consider it done master, I will make a few acres worth of farmland. But we do not have seeds, or people to tend to the farming.*

"I will buy seeds, and if need be I will also do the gardening so in the future my people can prosper" Onyx said with a heart full of resolve

"I will await the day of my return" Brock bows to Onyx before waving at Admin in the void of stars

"Lets go"

"Exit" Onyx and brock walk into the floating portal before appearing back inside the smithy

"I will be off tomorrow morning, please do not wait up as I'm sure you will be busy" He waves at me and leads me back to the shop entrance

"I will await the day you join us master, I will be off now" Onyx bows to Brock before heading to the market.

He has one goal, buy a variety of crops for his world. Then it hit him, how am I going to add sunlight for the crops? No how is the world still bright with no sun? Strange I need to talk to Admin about that, but first I need to buy seeds.

"Well it looks like we are going to be busy from now on."
