They had a room at a hotel in town.
It hadn’t taken much effort to get me a room next to theirs and when I’d walked into their room, I felt my ears pop. I’d been in enough meetings with Tres, that I knew what a privacy field was. For me to feel pressure like that, Gall had to be Tier Five, and honestly, it wouldn’t surprise me if he was Tier Six.
“Why are you here?” I took the coin out of my CB and offered it to her. I had a yellow coin with a shield on it that I could pass to someone if I needed to signal an ally of who I was. Right now, I didn’t feel like I needed to be the one sharing information.
Nyssa took the coin and put it back into her CB. “Tres thought you might need help and Gall and I have been under cover with the bandit camp in the wilds east of Gar for the last year. We were redirected to pick you up and help you.”
I glared at the two of them. There was no way that they received the order after Tres gave me the mission. He had to have talked to his mother yesterday in order for them to have enough time to get here.
“I can manage on my own.” I shook my head. “We’re going to stick out…”
“We already have credibility with the bandit camps. Which gives you a crack to get in.” She eyed me. “Do you even have any idea how you’re going to find Sipher?”
“I was hoping one of those Adventurers would appreciate the free drinks and maybe introduce me to a bandit after I lamented a little more about not having any All left.” I’d had my eye on two others before they’d swept me out of there.
“Which gets you in on the ground floor.” The golden woman shook her head. “How long do you think it will take you to reach the top from there? A year? Two? Ten? A hundred?” She smirked as she said the last number.
“I’m a fast worker. I…”
“Gall is a leader.” Nyssa cut me off. “He is meeting with Sipher in the Tine Dungeon next week.”
I wasn’t that fast.

“Fine.” I looked over at the older man. “So what’s the plan? We grab Sipher at the meeting?”
“Sipher will be with his strongest captains. We’ve been waiting for this meeting for almost a decade so that we can dismantle his entire network and find out how he is able to move around so fast. Somehow he can move from one side of the world to another almost instantly, which makes him almost impossible to catch. But once we know who else is working with him, we can get our allies to arrest them.” Nyssa smiled broadly like she’d already won.
“You think that Sipher is working with Nobles.” I sat on the back of a folding chair as I thought. Almost all Nobles were Adventurers who commanded the most powerful of families. Even the Heema, despite how broke we usually were, still qualified as Nobility. There were one or two shrewd Mundane who managed to gain enough wealth to join the table, but even those weren’t accepted by some of the Nobility and their families never stayed for more than two generations before they either lost their fortune or were absorbed by an Adventurer’s house. “How many?”
“For his network to span the globe?” Gall let the estimation hang in the air.
“Gotcha. Do you know if any others are joining us?” I glared at Nyssa. “Not that they told me that I was joining an operation already in motion.”
“We were in Zeb when we got the call this morning.” Nyssa returned my look. “We made the trip in six hours.”
Zeb was an eight hour drive from Tres, which meant that they had sped. I was curious what type of vehicle they were using to move that fast. Probably a Chaser, though they could have a small truck or cycles. We’d used a lift to get from the Hollow to the hotel, so I hadn’t got my answer there.
“What now?” I kept my eyes on Nyssa. Gall might be her father, but she was definitely the one calling the shots.
“It’s after midnight.” Nyssa nodded at the door. “We’re going to get some sleep, then we’ll leave for Menit in the morning. We can resupply, then head for Tine. We’ll all need to clear our way down to the fifty first floor.”
I swallowed. “I’m only level forty eight.”
“I’m only forty nine, but Gall is fifty six, so we’ll be okay.” Nyssa motioned at the door. “Sleep now. We’ll have plenty of time to talk on the drive there.”
I nodded and headed out the door. I needed to remember to pick up my gear in the morning. I was not looking forward to descending into the Dungeon. It took between an hour and three to get to the boss room, then we’d have to fight the floor boss, then repeat. Honestly the fights weren’t going to start getting difficult until we hit floor forty, but even with Gall, we were going to slow down significantly. I yawned as I started to think about what I needed to do in the morning as I laid down.
