They came from the parking lot.
They probably just blasted their way through the front gate, then kept going into the building. It didn’t matter how they did it, all that mattered was that we couldn’t go back the way we’d come and our car was gone.
“E! I need an exit!” Gall was at the front of our group, so he could push prisoners or guards out of the way.
“We could Tier up if one of us had a weapon…” Sipher was looking around. “Hey! That’s Thail! I didn’t know he was still alive.”
I ignored the bandit and kept urging him to move. While the walls and bars were made out of higher Tier material, everything else was Mundane, so even if we tried to turn something into a weapon, it’d be like hitting someone with a rolled up piece of paper.
The inventory in the CBs were also pretty useless. These must have been the ones they wore for work, because the only thing that was in this one’s inventory was a rubber shield and a stun baton. I wasn’t going to take the stun baton out unless I had to. The last thing I needed was for Sipher to hit Tier Five PKing his way out of prison.
Ella was guiding Gall away from the group that was looking for Sipher. I was mostly tuning her out since nothing she was saying was particularly relevant to the person bringing up the rear.
The prisoners were fighting with each other and with the guards. There were guards that had stun batons and were using them to try to subdue some of the prisoners. Sipher tried to move towards a guard in the hall that was stunning a prisoner. I grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back. “No.”

“What?” I couldn’t see his face through the red vizor, but I could imagine he was giving a fake innocent face. “You know, I could make you very wealthy. All we have to do is level up. No one would care if we took a few ‘bad guys’ off the board.”
“I don’t have a PK tag and I don’t plan to get one.” I shook my head and pushed him forward. “Keep moving so we can get out of here without becoming someone else’s experience.”
The golden bandit slowed down, but let me push him forward. I was able to keep him moving until we reached the yard. Once we got there Gall pointed at a spot on the wall between two of the sniper towers.
“There’s a road on the other side. If we can make it there…”
“Without getting shot by the snipers?” Sipher pointed at the guards that were still at their posts.”We might be wearing guard uniforms, but I’m pretty sure that as soon as we try to break the wall, they’re going to start shooting at us.” He looked back in the prison. “You know.,,”
“We aren’t PKing our way up.” I shook my head. “I don’t know what kind of deal you have with Kire, but the Gods don’t like it when people start leveling up fast by killing other mantled. You go to Tier Five…” I knew he wasn’t going to be satisfied with just Tier Five. “Or even try to get to Tier Six and you won’t just have Adventurers trying to kill you. You gain the ire of the entire Pantheon.”
Sipher was about to respond when I felt warth wash over me. I realized what had just happened and grabbed Sipher before he could run back into the prison and use his skills.
“Sipher..!”
My words were cut off by the wall behind me exploding.
A Minotaur with a huge hammer and green metal armor walked through the hole and pointed his weapon at Sipher.
“Found you.”
