I felt nothing.
For a second I thought that I was going to reveal what I really was, but there was no compulsion for me to answer anything. But I felt like having a little fun.
“Sipher plans on overthrowing Kire.”
The golden man blanched and took a step back. “Rishard. He’s making that up. I mean it’s Kire. Even I’m not that ambitious. Besides, everyone knows that Adventurers can’t become Gods!”
I couldn’t see who got behind him, but given earlier, I would guess it wasn’t Lyssa. Simply because he was still alive.
“I should hope not. You’re given a lot of latitude because of your usefulness, but there are plenty of others who could be useful.” Rishard nodded at whoever was behind Sipher.
“Can we kill him?” Lyssa didn’t wait for approval and I found one of her knives in my chest.
Pain blossomed for a moment, then there was nothing but a warm sensation like I was being healed.
“Whoa!” She pulled her knife out. “Maybe he’s just a fast healer…” She looked at Sipher. “Psy, gimme your sword.”
The blonde bandit seemed eager to prove he was a team player and took his weapon out of his CB.

“What are you..?”
I didn’t get to finish as she sliced through my neck. There was a flash of pain, then it was like it got numb, and finally warm as it healed. I could see my black blood on the blade of the sword, so I knew she’d cut me, but my head hadn’t moved from where it was restrained. Despite the initial shock of pain, I was starting to see some interesting applications if I was healing from lethal wounds. I was wondering if it was only lethal wounds, but I had a feeling that Lyssa would wonder that as well and test it out soon.
“That’s so AWESOME!” The bloodthirsty lady dropped the sword into the sand, then started poking me with her daggers. “But it doesn’t make any of the fun noises.”
It was hurting, but she had killed me too fast, so the explosion of pain kept me from reacting and by the time I could, the pain was numbed. Not that I was going to explain that I was having to force myself not fuel her satisfaction as she filled my body with holes. I could feel myself bleeding out and starting to get light headed, then there was a warmth and I was whole.
“Stop that!” Rishard reached over me to grab her hand before she could cut me again.
“What?” Lyssa pouted as she tried to pull her hand away.
“You’re wasting our mana!” The High Priest tried to grab the knife with his free hand.
Lyssa dropped the dagger and reached for it with her free hand, but she was beaten to it as an ebony hand snatched it from above me.
“That’s mine!” The white-haired woman tried to grab it, but her right hand was still being held, so she was having to twist and she wasn’t able to get anywhere close to whoever was above me.
Rishard took the offered dagger from the other person and let go of Lyssa’s hand. She pulled it back and rubbed her wrist. “You never let me do anything fun!”
I watched her stomp off.
“Every. Single. One…” The High Priest sighed and looked to his right. ”Meson, make sure she doesn’t start killing the prisoners.” Rishard backed up and looked at the other two. “Get him up. I want to see how far this goes.”
