We barely stopped at the front gate.
It helped that this was the fourth time that ‘we’ had been here. We were in Trixie’s vehicle, someone who looked like Trixie was in the back, and the scans said that were the two guards that were supposed to be with her.
As soon as we passed the front gate, it felt like my ear popped as magic to seal away our skills and passives kicked into effect. Without something like that, the prisoners that they kept here would easily be able to break out.
Once we parked, Nyssa got out and started to move fast. I almost felt like we were jogging and started to remind her that I was supposed to be slow, but that would have required talking, which I knew would upset her and possibly expose us as frauds. Thankfully, there were quite a few gates inside that we had to go through, so it wasn’t like I had to move fast for long.
After a few minutes of navigating the maze, we arrived at a door that had two guards in black uniforms and helmets with red vizors.
“Captain!” The one on the right of the door saluted. “We’ve secured the prisoner inside and he’s blindfolded, as you requested.”
“Thank you.” Nyssa growled and nodded at the door at the end of the hallway. “I’d like you to let Rene check that the recordings are off.”
“Miss Trixie, We’re not…”
“We are being constantly attacked and Kire doesn’t want there to be a recording of what this heathen says when he tells us the secret! So if you don’t open that door…” Nyssa let her voice drift off so that the other guard could imagine what punishment awaited him.

“Right away!” The guard turned, only for his partner to grab his hand.
“We’ll have to go in there with you.” The second guard slowly moved in front of the door. “For security.”
“Fine.” Nyssa nodded at the other door and moved the second guard out of the way so she could go into the interrogation room.
I had to wait for the first guard to unlock the surveillance room. Inside, there was another guard looking at screens that were part of the wall. In front of the guard was a console.
“Miss Trixie wants…” The guard began.
“I heard what she wants.” The other guard began working on his console. “It’s not like I can just push a button and shut off the cameras to ONLY that room.”
I palmed the coin out of my stolen CB and pressed it against the underside of the console as I leaned over the console to look closer at one of the screens.
“HEY!” The other guard slapped my hand. “Don’t touch the console! You could mess something up here!”
I coughed. “Sorry.”
The two guards looked at me, but the one whose face I could see didn’t show concern, so I assumed that the single word.
After a few more types, the guard showed a blank screen. “There. Done.”
“I’m in!” Ella was chewing something when she came on the comms.
I nodded, then jerked my head towards where the rest of my team was and headed for the door.
I didn’t need the guard to let me out, so I was able to get down the hall almost halfway before he came out of the room and we got to the door at about the same time. I motioned for him to go ahead and took a step back.
He opened the door to see Gall stripping the uniform off of the other guard. “Wha..!”
I stepped forward, pushing him inside, then shut the door behind me.
Nyssa kneed him in the chest, then took his helmet off while he was bent over and hit him over the head with it.The guard collapsed on the floor.
“Well.” Sipher smiled as Nyssa took the blindfold off of him. “Looks like my rescue finally got here.
