Mogi Leathers was my next destination.
As a Speed main class, the lighter the armor the better. Cloth armor was for the three magical type stats, while metalsmiths tended to cater to Power types, who wore medium armor, and Defense types, who wore heavy armor. It also meant that of the three different stores, there would be the least amount of people looking for leather armor, though I was still going to need to go to Andutt Clothing to get a few things to wear everyday, but I could get a few sets of Mundane pants and shirts for ten All each, so I wasn’t too worried about how much that would set me back. I also needed to go to Reder Apothecary and stock up on Tier Four health and stamina potions. I looked at the time and picked up my pace. I wanted to get out of here before the main surge of Adventurers got out of the Dungeon.
There was a strong smell of oil as I walked into Mogi Leathers and no one at the counter. I could see a white-haired, milky-skinned clerk helping another customer, so headed over to the Tier Four section and started looking at gear. There was armor made from lots of different monster hides, each one provided a small bonus at this level, though considering that most of the monsters in the Tres Dungeons were aquatic in nature, most of the leathers were imported from a different city.
I began looking through the leathers, trying to find ones that gave extra Speed, but most of the ones had extra Defense while a few came with extra Aura. It was proving to be a little more difficult to find what I was looking for than I thought it’d be.
“Do you need some help?”
“You wouldn’t have..?” I forgot the rest of my question as I looked at the thirteen-year-old girl who’d offered to help me. She had white hair, brown eyes, and milky skin and was wearing a yellow uniform like the clerk I’d seen when I walked in. “Aren’t you too young to be working here?”
“I only have studies until noon.” She eyed me. “What else should I be doing?”
“You…” I tried to think of my own childhood. I’d honestly spent most of it alone, exploring the cliffs beside the city. “I guess if it’s what you enjoy.” I gave her a smile. “I’m Viskor Heema. You wouldn’t happen to know if there was any Tier Four gear here with a Speed bonus?”
“I’m Mara Mogi.” She turned her wrist and opened the menu of her CB. “Let me see…”

I was surprised for a second time. People didn’t get Mantles until they were eighteen and even then, the Temple didn’t hand out CBs until an Adventurer was level ten. There was no way that this girl already had a mantle, which meant she was sporting a very rare item. But now I knew who I was talking to. For her to have something like that, she had to be the heir to the Mogi business.
“How high in Tier Four are you wanting?” Mara looked up at me. “Level forty-nine is the most common, but we usually break those down for enhancement material since there isn’t much demand for them.”
“I’m level forty eight.”
“So close.” The young woman smiled at me. “I’ll see what we’ve got. Looks like we have a level forty two frogian leather jacket with a hood. It’s only common, but it provides a sixteen Speed bonus.” She kept flipping through items on the list. “Looks like we have a few pairs of Buffo leather boots.” She nodded at the end of the aisle that we were on. “None of our footwear in stock has a Speed bonus, but there are a few that have a Footing enchantment already on them, unless you’re wanting something different. We’re out of Water-Walking by the way, that’s one of our big sellers.” She bit her lip. “Looks like we have a few pairs of different pants that’ll work…” She moved down the aisle and started touching hangers. Without a mantle, handling leveled gear, especially Tier Four gear would leave a nasty burn if she was in contact with it for very long.
I followed behind her and began pulling out the items she was pointing out. In a few minutes, I had two sets of armor draped over my arm and two pairs of boots in my right hand. Most of it was common gear, but that was fine. It would be a lot cheaper and I could always replace it later.
“Dad can get your measurements and we’ll tailor these to your size.” Mara began walking back towards the counter.
Once I put the items on the counter, she transferred them to the store’s inventory and tallied the cost. There were only two pieces of uncommon gear out of eight items. The jackets came with hoods attached, so I didn’t have to worry about buying separate headgear, which saved a little more All.
“That’s one hundred…” She squinted as she looked at me. “You know what? How about we just call it an even hundred thousand All.”
I hadn’t done the exact math, but I’d estimated that the total was going to be around one ten, so it was a nice discount. “Sounds good to me.”
Mara Mogi smiled at me. “If you’ll put in your contact information, then we can notify you when your items are ready and you can come by anytime and pick them up from the holding crystal at the front of the mall..”
I entered my CB’s information. “Thank you.” I waved at her as I left the store. Now I had three more stops to make.
