As they followed their blue light, an odd looking man awaited them at a black wormhole. Kendric recognised him from the Didgeridoo in the golden messhall. He had a smaller didgeridoo in his hand though instead of the big one he played in the golden messhall. He didn't look friendly at all and Kendric got the impression that this was a though man not to mess around with. His eyes were nearly black, or so it seemed. His dark brown skin shined like he oiled it with baby oil and his long curly black hair rest on his shoulders underneath some weird beige cloath that he wrapped around his head all the way to his shoulders.
They went through the wormhole into the classroom. This room was way different than the one from miss Bria. There were no walls to see and it looked like they stepped right into the jungle, trees and plants with big leaves were everywhere. Even a huge flesh eating plant which tried to flinch at them when they passed by.
'Yes, push forward,' he heared Master Ryka tell them. They had to put branches aside to get through and in the middle of all the trees there laid a round open space with a selfbuild campfire and tree trunks surrounding the fireplace.
'Sit down,' Master Ryka commanded. As they did, Master Ryka was shooting flames out of his hands to the fireplace which cuaght flame immediatly.
'So, your powers. Let me be clear, I don't care which power you've recieved. I only care about controlling them. Therefor you are here,' meanwhile Master Ryka floated above the fire while he sat cross-legged in the hot air, 'the fire is me, I am the fire. We both can't live without oxygen. Do you understand? Therefor I control the fire, because he needs oxygen AND ME!!! Without me, he has no eternal flame.'
It sounded logical. We operate ourselves but the fire is depending on humans to keep burning and ofcourse oxygen. But eventually, our fire will cease to exist. No mortal can live eternal.
Kendric began to enjoy this man and his wisdom since he was straight to the point, no difficult riddles or whatsoever. Just clear. That's all Kendric needed today, someone who was clear and didn't go round in circles around the hot mess.
Master Ryka floated back on his feet. He stood within the fire and the flames surrounded him.
'Mind over matter! This body is my vessel, nothing more, nothing less. I control the flames and I control my body. The way in doing so is through meditation, which you have to practise each day.' He stepped out of the blazing unharmed.
Kendric felt the strong urge to master this power also. This was awesome! They all applaud and felt exited just like Kendric did.
'Meditation you will learn with Master Batuo. Without his teachings I can't learn you how to control your power and do great things with it. But for now you can start to focus on your own power. Don't worry about what could happen, just focus.'
Some of the students closed their eyes while focussing on their power. Kendric looked around but didn't see anything happen at all, except for Maynard. He let a plant disappear and reappear on the other side. Kendric thought about which power he wanted to focus on, but before he could choose one, this strong feeling overwhelmed him. It crawled under his skin through his whole body and gave him the shiveres.
He searched the place and Cahya caught his attention. She stood there with pure fear in her eyes and stared at something from across the room. Kendric looked in the same direction and there he saw it. An old man just stood there, he looked ancient, didn't had much clothes on either. He seemed to be an ancient indigenous warrior. Kendric tried to focus on him, the man stared back straight into his eyes.
Who are you and why are you here?
Telepatic thoughts ran through his mind. He had a vision of a very young Cahya, she couldn't be much older than two years old or something. She laid in her bed and the man joined them in her bedroom doing some kind of ritual. Kendric stared at Cahya in the vision. She looked sick, very sick! Her family performed some ancient ritual joined with indigenous prayers. The man didn't looked solid at all. As if he was...
Kendric knew what was going on now. This man was a spiritguide, Cahya's spiritguide!
'Why do you fear him Cahya?' But Cahya's eyes became all wet and was about to burst out in tears. The others looked at her and she tried everything in her power not to cry.
'When I was 3 years old I was dying. I had a high fever and the medicin man couldn't heal me, also the medication didn't work. They didn't know what was wrong with me. In the hospital they left me to die and informed my parents I wouldn't make it through the night. They took me home. As I laid in my own bed that night, my family did their prayers to our ancestors. The room filled with the strong scent of our island Tanimbar and then he came,' she stared anxiously at the old man, 'he is my ancestor, he did a very old ritual. You can call it voodoo, that's perhaps most known in the western world. It isn't actually voodoo more so the connection between our ancestors and it's people. It is powerful and beyond what many can comprehend. He healed me with it. The next day I could run around fully recovered. Since that day, he always comes when I am in danger.'
Cahya's tears rolled over her cheeks.
'Why don't you ask him why he is here?'
'I did Kendric, I tried talking to him many times but I don't understand the language he uses.'
'I thought spirits use a universal language?'
'They do, but my ancestors refuse that. They hold on to their own teachings and use our own language from our island. It is called Tanimbarees but the problem is that I've never learned it and therefor I am not able to understand them.'
'May I?' And Kendric reached out his hand to Cahya. She gave her hand and stoodd beside him.
'Maybe we could join our powers and strength?' Kendric didn't know at all what he was doing but he had a strong intuition that this was the way to go. As soon as Cahya gave her hand to him he felt an energyburst floating from his feet all the way up to his head. It was as if he absorbed the earths energy. Cahya's ancestor then spoke telepathically and they could both understand him in images and hear his thoughts in their minds.
Your task is greater than you could imagine. Just know we are here with you and if you need us, you can call upon us.
The man disappeared. Cahya smiled while her cheeks were still wet from tears. She held Kendric tightly and whispered with a broken voice in his ear: 'Thank you.'
Kendric held her and put his hand on the back of her head. He now knew what she what she ment about the scent in her room from her island. The scent of strong spices filled Master Ryka's jungle classroom and the others were all sniffing in the air, searching for the scents origin. As he held his hand on her head he could feel her relieve and how thankful she was. He could feel her whole essence.

This must be psychometry, by touching her I can feel her every emotion.
Without focussing on his powers he has used psychometry to tap in on Cahya's feelings. Kendric was happy he could help and felt so much joy. This powers were beyond anything he could ever imagine. He felt like the most pure being in the universe because of it and for the first time he was thankful for the gift he had recieved.
Master Ryka applaud and the others joined him.
'Well done young truthseekers! Today the two of you have learned a great lesson but also teached your fellow students a great deal. Strength is in all of us. But with compassion, love and understanding towards another instead of being selfish, you will achieve so much more. The strength is in doing it together and on that note, I think we had a beautiful first lesson today.'
Cahya and Kendric stared at eachother and smiled. Kenji stroke her arm and his face was painted with compassion.
'I admire your strength Cahya, you are wheeling a great power.'
Kendric planned on walking out of the jungle classroom with the others but noted that Zuberi still sat on his tree trunk.
'Are you coming?' Kendric asked him before going through the jungle to the wormhole but Zuberi shook his head. Kendric pulled his shoulders up and followed the others.
'Can I help you with something Zuberi? I noticed you didn't focus on your power, you didn't even try.' Master Ryka asked while frowning.
'I don't want to.' Zuberi looked to the ground and softly kicked his foot in the sand beneath him.
'You are scared, I understand. But look at Cahya. If anything, today should've learned you a great lesson. I am guessing your power is Divination and you're scared of it? Seen bad things at home didn't you?'
Zuberi nodded.
'You have seen voodoo my boy, that is something different. You don't have to combine those two. You can use divination without going into black magic. You are right to fear black magic, let's just say it isn't the way and we don't encourage it here. It always has a pricetag to use black magic and the price is often very high. It bounces back on your health, you could pay with your life or even worse, your offsprings lifes...
But Divination is an attempt to form and possess. An understanding of reality in the present and additionally, to predict events and reality of a future time. That can be very usefull and you would be wise to control the power that has bin given to you. Remember, mind over matter! You are in control and you decide what to do with it.'
Master Ryka was right and Zuberi felt encouraged.
He felt relieved while walking out of the jungle, in control. While he walked through the hallway he saw Yrsa standing alone aganst a wall. She looked lost.
'What's up Yrsa?' But she didn't respond.
'Yrsa, hello, can you hear me?'
Yrsa stood as still as a statue and stared in front of her. Zuberi had this unpleasant feeling running through his body. He shook her while calling out her name, but just nothing happened. He saw a dark cloud in his mind surrounding Yrsa's thought.
'Yrsa! Yrsa!!!'
But she still didn't respond. He felt a lot of negative thoughts running through his mind and an image of a dark fog completely surrounded her in his mind. He didn't know what to do, he felt hopeless and wanted to scream for help. But then Master Ryka came running accompanied by Master Uruk.
'Step aside young master Zuberi,' Master Uruk said and he pointed his lizard staff to Yrsa.
"Revalar!!!" He screamed and Master Ryka stood in a position where he was ready to fight. An energy sphere flew out of Yrsa and she collapsed on the ground. Master Uruk wheeled his power over the energy sphere but it clearly cost him all of his strength.
Master Ryka did some kungfu moves which looked a bit like a capoeira dance mixed with kungfu fighting skills and he created a whirlwind with his hands and opened up a vortex. Together they forced the energy sphere into the vortex and Master Ryka closed it down inmediatly. Zuberi looked at Yrsa, she layed unconscious on the ground.
Master Uruk pointed his staff at Yrsa, which lifted her body up in the air. He ran through the hallway to the medical wing with Yrsa's body flying behind him and Master Ryka and Zuberi ran after them.
The medical wing was in a dark hallway opposite of the golden messhall. The medical wing didn't had any doors or wormholes just a veil. Master Uruk pointed with his lizard staff and the veil began to shimmer.
They walked through it but as soon as they entered the veil Zuberi couldn't move anymore, as he was frozen to the ground. A beam of red light scanned their bodies, then Master Uruk moved forward again and Zuberi followed him with Yrsa floating in the air while still unconscious. The medical wing was a beige room in a sterile environment. It looked like they were inside some kind of tomb from a pyramid but than without the mummy casket. The room had a strange form with an even stranger ceiling.
'This room is arranged perfectly as a healing vibration room.' Master Uruk said while he noticed Zuberi staring at the form of the typical room.
Some men came running and one man had a tranparant screen floating in front of his eyes where a binary code kept running over his screen.
A stretcher appeared and Yrsa floated on the stretcher. The man took Yrsa with him and placed her in the center of the room.
'What did just happen?' Zuberi asked Master Uruk while his worries overpowered him, but Master Uruk didn't answer.
A few minutes later one of the men came back, he had a strange looking medical body suit on. It was all black and shiny. Master Uruk pointed his lizard staff on his forehead and closed his eyes.
'I see...' he said.
Zuberi didn't understand any of this.
Master Uruk walked to the center of the room where Yrsa still laid unconscious. Zuberi followed him although he wasn't sure if he was suppose to. But since Master Uruk didn't told him to stay back he guessed it was ok.
'This never should've happened, thank you Zuberi for warning us.' Zuberi asked confused: 'How did I do that?'
'With your gift ofcourse. You read the omens Yrsa was beaming out. You knew something was wrong, you could feel it, see it, sence it... Like a very strong intuition. When a student has such a strong feeling, we teachers are automatically informed. It is by accepting your gift that you were able to feel such a strong intuition. Don't worry, we were in time. She will recover, we just need to get her molecules vibrating at the right frequency again, therefor she lays in the center of this perfect acoustic healing room. As soon as her molecules vibrate on the right frequency, she can wake up and will be back to her old self. This whole room is build to offer patients a healing frequency. It's acoustics are unique and the room provides in it.'
Zuberi stared at Yrsa, he felt relieved that she was going to be ok. Doctors were now beating a gong and Zuberi noticed something particular. He could see strange looking waves vibrating and filling up the room, surrounding Yrsa and ran straight through her body.
'But what was that Master Uruk?'
'Yrsa is a transmedium. A psychic who is able to cross boundaries between the natural and supernatural worlds. In class, learning to wheel her powers, she let something in. Despite all our security measures, it got in. Something we need to work on apperently. She was fooled by it and later trapped when she let it use her body. Don't worry, it isn't the first time this happened in a student. Every new batch of students, there is always at least one with this power who's got fooled. But this time, the energy who took her over was very ancient and very, very strong. Master Ryka and I send it back to it's own dimension.'
Zuberi still stared at Yrsa. He felt sorry for her. Earlier he had fear for the unknown, for his powers and what it could do when used for bad things. But Yrsa's powers were no joke. It was scary as hell and it gave him the goosebumps.
'You can go to your friends now, thank you young master Zuberi. I expect great things from you with the strength you posess.' Master Uruk walked him to the exit. Zuberi went to the messhall where his friends were waiting for him and already eating their dinner.
