They landed the ship on a small flat space on the hill with all their lights out.
'Wow you really can fly a spaceship!' Cahya said while admiring them.
The boys laughed and got themselves unhooked from the ship. While they got out they followed Kendric down the hill.
'Kendric, I can use my power to get the book out.' Maynard said.
Kendric stopped and turned around.
'Why?' He asked. His uncle was the nicest person on earth, it wouldn't be a problem to just walk in and ask for J.P's journal.
'They don't remember you brother.' Zuberi said and threw his arm around him.
Kendric staired down the hill. There it was, the house of uncle Jerry. His favourite person in this whole universe. The person who didn't remember him...
Kendric felt like he lost a loved one. In some way he did. He agreed with the plan and continued walking down the hill.
In front of uncle Jerry's house Kendric had to swallow. He would do anything to have a nice chat with uncle Jerry. Then uncle Jerry stepped outside and staired right into Kendric's eyes.
'Kendric?' He asked suprised, 'Kendric my boy. You're back!' And he ran across the street and held him tightly.
Kendric got overwhelmed that uncle Jerry recognised him.
'But how?'
'How what my boy?'
'How do you know who I am?'
'As if I could forget my favourite nephew. Come on, let's go inside. Tell me who your friends are and all about your adventures.'
Uncle Jerry opened his front door and let them in. They followed Kendric into the living room and sat down on the couch. Zuberi and Kenji took a hocker to sit on. Uncle Jerry sat down in his favourite chair and looked at Kendric but Kendric was restless. He didn't understood how this was possible and paced around while scratching his head.
'Where is aunt Jenna?' He asked.
'Don't worry, she is with your parents to a party from Miss Wenworth. Don't ask me what the party was for, I forgot, didn't listen actually. I was just getting out to buy some beer and watch the game when I saw you guys. Tell me everything Kendric!' Uncle Jerry sat straight up in his chair.
Kendric stared at the garden, the last place he went before all this started. He looked back at the others and uncle Jerry: 'Why do you remember me uncle?'
'Well that's an interesting question. So I asked everyone after an hour or so on my birthday where you went. They all stared with their empty little heads at me like I was a fool. Somehow they appeared to have forgotten you, even your parents. I looked around for you and then I noticed the pictures. Every picture of you was gone. Totally erased. I ran to your house, went upstairs only to see that even your room wasn't their anymore. I even bumped against the wall where supposed to be your door. I called you, but got a message that this number wasn't available or disconnected or something. Man, that was strange!
Everyone thought I had to much to drink. And yeah maybe I had but I knew what I knew. Afraid that they would put me in a mental home, I decided to just do my own research in secret. Not that their was much to find. I found your cellphone outside in our garten, but without a card in it. So odd. A few days later, many google searches further and reading a lot about conspiracy theories hoping to find out what could've happened to you, J.P. arrived at night. In my dream or something. Weirdest thing! He said that I don't need to worry about you. That you are special and on a mission,' uncle Jerry had a tear in his eye and his voice broke down, 'I missed you, I was so worried! But what are you wearing boy?' He noted as he stared at their body suits.
'And who the heck are you guys? Oh excuse me, and lady...'
Kenji got up and introduced himself. The others followed him and sat down again.
'Uncle, these are my friends.' Kendric told him the whole story of what happened from the moment when he disappeared in the garden.
This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.
Uncle Jerry's eyes almost plopped out of his skull and his mouth was hanging wide open: 'Wait, so you are a truthseeker and J.P. was one also? And my mom and J.P.? Wait, what?'
Uncle Jerry was obviously very confused by all the information that had now fried his brains.
After much explaning it was time for them to get the journal. Kendric asked for it but uncle Jerry shook his head: 'I'm sorry my boy, but I think J.P. took it. It disappeared the day that he visited me in my dream.'
Kendric stared dissapointed to the ground: 'It's ok uncle, I am so happy I got to see you. This trip wasn't for nothing. Do you know why they didn't altered your memories?'
'Actually I do. Mom came to visit me as well that night. She said you would need me to remember you and then poof. Gone!'
'She was right. I do need you. To be honest it's hard on me.' Kendric admitted.
'On all of us!' Marcellus said and the others agreed while they all thought about their families which they missed so dearly.
'Although the powers and knowledge are awesome, without our family it is just hard and sometimes very lonely. The pressure is high, it feels like the weight of the world is on our shoulders.' Kenji admitted and Kendric was suprised about how open they all were about their feelings but uncle Jerry always had that effect on people.
'Well actually, the faith of the world is on our shoulders.' Maynard said. He looked worried and sad instead of the tough guy he always appeared to be. They all fell quiet.
'Chin up guys. I know we only have talked for like an hour or something. But I can already see you are great people. To me it seems, the world got the best of the best teenagers from all over the world with the highest potential. I have full faith in you that you will do whatever is necessary to protect us.' Uncle Jerry stared proud at Kendric and had his big friendly smile on his face.
'I am sorry but we need to go, you see, we stole this spaceship. Are here without permission and well, I think we are screwed.' Marcellus noted.
Kendric held uncle Jerry tight: 'I will visit soon uncle, I promise!'
Uncle Jerry tried to hold down his tears. It was weird seeing this big guy so emotional: 'It is tough, being the only one who remembers you, to worry about you. But to be honest, I am glad your mom and aunt aren't remembering you. Because if they did they would whine all day. Take care my boy, be safe!'
They all thanked him for his time and went out. Kendric waved one last time and began to climb back up the hill. Marcellus was telling jokes to Maynard when Zuberi suddenly ducked into the grass and ordered them to be quiet. Kendric heard some people talking. He recognised that voice. It was the woman from the night at the dinosaur museum. Master Uruk's wife or ex, or whatever.
'Welcome back young master Kendric Origins. Come out, come out, wherever you are.' She said while the men behind her were laughing.
Kendric got up. Zuberi pulled him down.
'What are you doing you fool? They will kill you!'
But Kendric shook his arm loose and got up again. He walked up to the woman and the group followed him against their will but they wouldn't leave him while facing her alone.
'So, these are Uruk's disciples? What a waiste. You do realise there is not enough time to prepare you for what's coming right?' She asked him, now looking more serious and without her stupid smile and childish remarks.
'Yeah, Mes-Sanuri.' He answered.
'That's right! She will destroy us all. Tell your master it is time to join forces. I'll be waiting for his answer. He would be a fool not to contact me! And tell him I will need my scroll back. You know... the one you stole from me?' Angry she staired Kendric right in the face and then they disappeared with a bright flash.
'Where did they go?' Marcellus asked with a shiver in his voice.
'Who cares? We have to get back!' Kendric ordered them and he opened up the spaceship.
They got back hoocked to the ship and flew back to school. No one said a word during their way back untill Cahya decided to break down the silence.
'It was nice with your uncle.'
Kendric turned his head to look at Cahya.
'Yes it was.' And he continued flying the ship again.
He was grateful for the visit to his uncle and so suprised that they left his memories intact. For the first time, he fellt somekind of relieve knowing that at least one person on earth still remembered him.
'Well, how nice was it that we didn't get blown up into a million pieces by Master Uruk's ex wife?' Marcellus noted.
They could all agree on that one.
'Join forces...' Kenji said while he remained in deep thoughts.
'Yeah, didn't see that one coming.' Zuberi said. Another thing they agreed on. No one saw this coming.
They were almost back at school and flew the spaceship back into the hangar. Outside they saw Master Uruk together with Miss Bria and Jane waiting for them.
'We are so utterly screwed!' Maynard noted and they all had to swallow.
