'These tunnels just go on and on and on.' Marcellus sighed and actually felt pretty bored now.
Kendric couldn't disagree with him, these tunnels seemed as neverending as the bottomless pit they jumped into and he somehow imagined the Column caves were more exiting.
'I am sorry that this doesn't meet up to your expectations. The Column caves were never meant to be exiting, therefor they are still secret and lay deep underneath the Pyramids. It was always meant for one purpose, protect Earth. Not for sightseeing, not a game, but serious business.' Enki did his education lesson while they kept walking.
'But why all the paintings on the wall than?' Marcellus asked out of curiosity.
'Those have a purpose. They tell our story, from the beginning on our own planet till yours. It's for safekeeping and we build a few traps here as well, just to protect the electro magnetic grid. It took us many years to build this all, we invested a lot of time and effort and materials as well in this.'
As they walked through yet another very long tunnel they observed the paintings on the wall. They really were telling a story, an ancient one for that matter. It was actually very impressive. But there wasn't much time to stand still and follow the story. Enki with his huge legs followed maybe for him a slow pace but for them it felt like they were running the marathon or at least speedmarching as little soldiers.
'I am sorry that we don't have the time now to truly look at the wonder of these caves, I promise, another time we will. But we have to hurry since not only your governments will notice the grid got back up again but other species as well. They aren't all that friendly. Some would want to leave this instant, others would want to install more of them secretly on your planet.'
'Will someone try to stop us?' Kenji wasn't quite sure if he wanted the answer to that question. How safe were they exactly? Untill now the mission seemed pretty easy and with Enki with them, there was no reason to worry at all. Or...
'They may.' Enki answered curtly.
They looked at eachother and noticed they felt the same in that moment, scared and confused. Were they really in danger?
'May I ask lord uhm Enki, what exactly are your powers?' Zuberi asked in the most polite way possible and Enki had to laugh.
'Don't worry, I can and I will protect you.' Enki assured them. 'Oh we are here.'
They looked at the open space infront of them. A beautiful oasis, a small little paradise hiding deep underneath the Sphinx.
'This is the sacred Oasis, it was here long before we arrived. It has magic powers and an ongoing force which provides in endless energy and possibilities.' Enki explained, however none of them seemed to understand what this force exactly meant and what it could do.
Marcellus approached the water and stuck his hand out, his fingertips almost reaching the calm water of the oasis. But Enki grabbed his hand just in time, preventing Marcellus to come in contact with the oasis.
'What did I just tell you my child? Magic powers, ongoing force, endless possibilities and energy? Are you longing for an untimely death?' Enki looked furious and his friendly joking face he normally had, changed instantly with Marcellus action.
'So how exactly are we going to finish the grid over Antartica? Is there a button or something?' Maynard asked while he searched for anything in particular.
'You guys need to dive in after you have eaten the seeds from this plant.' And Enki pointed at a small green plant near the oasis with a white flower. 'The seeds are within the flower. It will test if your soul is pure, if it is, it will provide you one seed each.'
'And after that? We just dive in and than what?' Maynard asked not really sure if he wanted to continue with this last task.
'Yes, you dive in and come out at the other end of the vortex. In Antartica.'
'Whatttttt?' They all yelled simultaneously.
But Enki continued, not paying any attention to them being in shock. 'You will step out of the water at Antartica, there you will search for the diamond symbol. Believe me, it is hard to miss. This symbol needs to be touched with Rhesus-null blood. So Kendric, you know what to do. As soon as you do, the last column will rise from the ground you stand on. Now this is important so listen very carefully. Only Kendric may touch the column, no one else! Do you understand this?' Enki looked at them one by one and each affirmed they understood the task at hand.
'As soon as you touch the column, a part of the diamond rain from Uranus will transport to you. Catch the biggest diamond and leave the place exactly at the spot that you came through for reaching the Southpole. So make sure one person stays behind at the exact spot.'
'What about the temperature over there?' Kenji asked.
'You have your bodysuits. Good luck.'
Hesitantly they approached the plant and Kendric bowed to the flower. It opened up and provided him with a seed. The others followed him and they all got a seed from the plant. As they looked at eachother they ate the seed and swallowed it hole. They dove into the oasis, at the bottom in the middle they could see the vortex. It looked as a hurricane and when Kendric looked back at the others he noticed their fear but they had no choice and had to go through. As soon as Kendric swom into the vortex he got spat out on the surface of Antartica and the others also within seconds behind him. The wind on Antartica was one they had never experienced, ice cold and it almost blow them of their feet.
'Who is going to stay here at this exact spot?' Kendric asked and Marcellus offered to stay. 'We need your remote viewing though.'
Marcellus pointed in the direction they had to go. But he didn't used his remote viewing power, he could perfectly see the reflecting diamond on an icy pyramid right infront of them.
'That pyramid is huge! How will Kendric reach that diamond all the way up there?' Maynard wondered.
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
'Climb?' Marcellus asked while he protected his face from the hard wind.
'Use your face mask idiot.' Maynard adviced him in his so called friendly way.
The veil crawled over Marcellus face. 'Oh way better! I wondered how you guys didn't seem bothered by this harsh wind.'
Maynard hit with his hand against his forehead and shook his head. 'So about that diamond, any ideas yet?'
'It will come when I stand before it, I think. I hope...' Kendric said in his - familiar in the meantime for the guys- clueless way.
When they stood before the pyramid it was even larger than they already thought it to be. The diamond reflected the bright light that came from the Moon as it was winter on the Southpole and the Moon tried to decieve you, looking as the Sun.
Kendric looked at the diamond, way up high and wondered how he could reach it. He thought he could wing it something would come up, but it didn't.
'Climbing it is.' And he tried to climb the pyramid which ofcourse failed as soon as he tried to set foot on the icy stones from the pyramid. This was more an iglo than a pyramid, he thought by himself.
'How about I transport a few drops of blood of yours way up to the diamond?' Kenji suggested.
'Oh yes, Kenji you are brilliant!' Kendric said relieved after his own failed attempt. He made a cut in the palm of his hand and Kenji redirected the drops of blood that almost fell on the ground, to the top of the pyramid. As the diamond came in touch with Kendric's blood, a column appeared infront of him. Kendric reached out his hand, formed as a fist in an attempt to hold on to the blood that was leaving his veins untill he heared something cracking. They looked around to identify where the cracking sound was coming from but saw nothing. High above them -at high velocity- five purple orbs came flying in and landed hard infront of them which made the snow rise up and powder snow fell as a wave over them, causing them to be temporarily blind.
'Oh oh Kendric, naughty boy. Closing the electro magnetic grid like that.' Mes-Sanuri stood before them with four of her men.
Kendric still had his hand formed in a fist. He felt the cold from the Southpole causing his hand to be frozen and therefor his blood also. He activated his laser on his bodysuit to create a new cut with fresh blood but Mes-Sanuri approached him, preventing him from moving at all.
'As you can understand, I can't let you do this my sweet Kendric. For my alliances and for myself, we need Earth to be as it is. Open for all.' And she circled around him, not even bothered by the cold temperature and harsh wind from the Southpole.
'Kill me or step aside.' He said firmly.
She laughed with a creepy high pitched voice, trying to make him feel ridiculous but Kendric was determined and made a new cut in his hand. Blood slowly dripped out of his hand again and Mes-Sanuri jumped infront of him.
'Don't make me boy!'
Kendric looked at the others which prepared themselves for a fight. Mes-Sanuri's men stomped their feet deep into the snow with their hands against eachother, preparing to attack at their Queen's command. Kendric carefully held his hand infront of him and was just inches away from the column. Mes-Sanuri echoed a high pitched sound and her men created a huge energy ball and aimed for Kendric's head. The boy's trying to do everything in their power to prevent the energy ball for reaching Kendric but they didn't had enough power to stop it and had to watch painfully how the energy ball came closer and closer to killing their Chosen one and best friend.
Zuberi viewed everything as in a slowmotion movie and had to think faster than the speed of light to intervene. He ducked in front of Kendric, touched his bloodied hand and slammed it on to the column.
'Nooooooooooooooo!' They all screamed, watching another best friend sacrificing himself, knowing that no one other than Kendric may touch the column. Enki was very clear about it and none of them knew the consequences.
As Zuberi touched the column, the diamond rain from Uranus came through a vortex which had appeared above the column.
'Was he hit? Was he hit?' Kendric asked.
'I couldn't see!' Kenji yelled.
The diamond rain had a surprisingly blinding effect with the bright light of the moon reflecting on them. They couldn't see Mes-Sanuri and her men nor Zuberi.
'Grab the largest diamond, quickly!' Kenji yelled in an attempt to see where it was. But it fell right into Kendric's bloody hand which was frozen so badly now that it turned black.
'Got it!' He screamed at the others.
'Run!' Maynard said while he observed Mes-Sanuri's men creating yet another energy ball.
'No, not without Zuberi! We need to find him!' Kendric yelled while he searched at the ground for him but it was so very hard to see with the diamonds that kept falling and reflecting the Moon's light upon them.
'We need to go Kendric! Go now! The mission first!' Maynard yelled and he pulled Kendric with him.
Kendric knew he had to run, but he didn't want to leave his brother behind. Maynard and Kenji pulled him along by his arms but Kendric tried to resist them. He couldn't feel his hand anymore but he didn't care.
'B-R-O-T-H-E-R!!!' In a last attempt to shout for his lost brother and he wiped away a tear.
'What happened? Where is Zubi?' Marcellus asked as they came running.
'Jump! Jump!' Maynard yelled as he looked behind him and saw Mes-Sanuri's men approaching fast.
They jumped through the vortex back to Enki at the oasis. Kendric stared at the water, hoping for a miracle that brought his brother back to them. But the water remained still, without any movement. No one was coming.
'Let me see my son.' Enki placed his hand on Kendric's forehead and a sharp pain overwhelmed him as he felt Enki poking his mind.
'I am very sorry my children for your friend. Yes the mission comes first, I believe you had this lesson with Master Uruk. But if that time than comes, it doesn't makes the decision to leave your friend behind any easier. But your friend made a choice. He chose to save the Earth, mankind and above all, the Chosen one. He took one for the team and you may mourn him but you are obligated to respect his sacrifice. He is a hero and that is how he will be remembered.' Enki assured them.
'How about her?' Kendric asked while staring at the oasis.
'Don't fear her, she isn't able to cross over to this place, it is protected and as soon as Zuberi activated the last column with your blood. Well, let's just say that the Earth spat her and her minions out.' And Enki walked to Kendric and grabbed his hand.
'Touch the flower and put your hand after it into the oasis. It will heal you.'
Kendric did as he was told and the flower released some sort of powder on his black hand. He dipped his hand into the water and felt his nervs and muscles working again as the colour of his skin returned to normal.
'The electro magnetic grid is activated, give me a few seconds.' And Enki transformed as an orb and dissapeared just to return to them within ten seconds.
'I am very sorry, I looked for your friend's body but it wasn't there anymore as I suspected. There was a reason I told you that only someone with Rhesus-null blood may touch the Southpole column. It functions as a beacon but with any other bloodtype it will become an exchange.'
'An exchange of what?' Kenji asked.
'An exchange for the diamond rain. Uranus it's diamond's to Earth and well...'
A painfull silence filled the room. The realisation of Zuberi's body which got exchanged for the diamonds, laying somewhere on Uranus now, hit them hard.
'But those temperatures on Uranus, there is no way he can survive.' Marcellus noted and tears filled his eyes.
'He was probably dead already, that energy ball was huge. He knew it, did it anyway. He is a true hero.' Maynard said with a tremor in his voice as he tried hard to withhold his tears for himself. They all did and sat for a while in silence.
'I have to bring you back to Anunnaki high. The exit of the Sphinx is right above us, it is that big hole in his back. It's where sunlight comes through but from above no one can see the oasis due to some technology we installed and many traps if someone would made an attempt. I will take you all at once, so try to remain calm.' Enki floated above them and raised his hands. Their bodies floated alongside Enki and they escaped the oasis through the hole in the Sphinx it's back.
While they stood at the Sphinx and let their eyes adjust to the bright sunlight they looked upon the three pyramids of Giza.
'Zuberi would've loved this.' Marcellus said while he admired the wonder of the sight of the pyramids.
'Yes he would.' Kendric said with an emotional broken voice as he felt down and dead inside.
