Chapter 72. Angel of Death.

Chapter 72. Angel of Death.

Fengsu noticed three men were moving toward his position fast. He couldn't remember why he had to instruct the zombies under his command to protect a man, a woman and a child. He just knew he had to, besides he didn't have much time to think about it.

He had to decide quickly, what ht had to do now.

He decided to moved toward one of his opponent quick. By taking the initiative, he would be able to create distant with the other two. It would give him time to take care one of those three. The gambling would be, would he be able to killed his opponent before the other two arrived?

The one picked by Fengsu was the one named Jiang Nan.

A man in his twenties he was rash, filled with self confidence and had a ferocious nature. Before other commanders made a decision, he already moved toward Fengsu's location.

Fengsu who lived for hundred of years, could notice these little things. He quickly picked his target and without any hesitation flew toward Jiang Nan who hadn't guessed that the one he wanted to kill was coming to kill him instead. In his simple mind, his target would be hiding among the zombies, and his job would be to find him among them.

It was a surprised for Jiang Nan, when suddenly a man in ancient Chinese robe, suddenly flew toward him and tens of blades, formed from nothing but wind, came toward him.

"Hyaaaahhhh!!!", Jiang Nan roared as he crossed his arm to cover his body and braced himself from the pain that was going to happen.

He gritted his teeth as the blades bit his body, one by one.

Within seconds, his clothes was torn apart and wounds covered his body. Blood was dripping from his body, but none of the wound was deep enough to give him any serious injury.

Before he could raised his head, he already flew from Fengsu's kick that hit right on his side. Jiang Nan growled in pain, but rather than disabled him, it incited his anger and his fighting spirit.

Fengsu didn't give him any leniency. Before Jiang Nan could stand stably, Fengsu already sent another kick toward his head.

Rather than trying to avoid it, the short fused Jiang Nan roared and exerted all his strength to headbutt Fengsu's foot. It surprised Fengsu who never imagined that such thing would happen. Jiang Nan's head, Fengsu's foot, when it met, as if a small bomb exploded.

Fengsu's body although seemed like human body, it didn't actually the same. But when Jiang Nan's head met his foot, Fengsu could imagine how painful it would be, if he had human body.

It shocked Fengsu, but Jiang Nan had to pay the price as well. If Fengsu's foot felt like it was going to broke, then Jiang Nan felt like his head was going to explode.

'I'm dead now', Jiang Nan last thought before he lose his consciousness.

"Jiang Nan! Damned is he dead?", one of the other commanders noticed Jiang Nan's sudden lost from their network.

"No! He was knocked down by the enemy!", someone whose spiritual sense more sensitive than the other informed them.

"Guan Lao! Jian Mo! Quick moved to Jiang Nan's last position, the enemy must be there!"

"Send more people, this time we must kill them!"

"I'll help!"

"Huangfu Jian! Go help too!"

"On my way!"

Through his spiritual sense, Fengsu noticed two opponent were closing fast, while another two zombie commander decided to join the fray. He frantically tried to subdue Jiang Nan's will to survive. It was much harder to absorb his soul, since Jiang Nan still had some of his will to survive. Fengsu viciously kicked him, as he slowly absorbed Jiang Nan's life force through his hand.

Fengsu sensed the other four moving fast toward his position, he thought to himself, 'Ten more seconds and I leave this place!'

Fengsu wasn unwilling to let his prey free, but he knew, once the others came, he wouldn't be able to feast on his prey anyway. That was why, part of his consciousness was watching the situation on the battle field warily.

Mean while Guan Lao was running as fast as he could toward Jiang Nan's last location. From the corner of his eyes, he saw a man was running toward him. A small part of his consciousness told him the man was a threat, but something quickly got rid that thought out of his mind and the next moment he forgot of that man's existence. He kept running hard toward Jiang Nan.

Suddenly his heart was beating faster, once again part of him, was telling him of dangerous threat that was coming to him. But it seemed something was at work against his own mind and the next moment, Guan Lao was not interested on that warning anymore.

Stolen from Royal Road, this story should be reported if encountered on Amazon.

A few seconds later, his instinct was screaming at him and his heart pounded so heart that he abruptly stopped and turned to look at the man who was running toward his direction.

It was Huang Wen and it was too late for Guan Lao.

With one leap Huang Wen closed the distance between him and Guan Lao. With one stroke, he loped Guan Lao's head off of his neck. He didn't stop to check the result.

Huang Wen was running fast, toward his next target. Guan Lao's eyes still wide opened, staring at the sky. Guan Lao still wondered, what just happened to him? He couldn't moved his body and slowly losing his consciousness.

On Fengsu's spiritual radar, suddenly one of his enemies disappeared. Something nagged his mind about it, but at the same time something told him to ignore it. Few seconds later, another enemy disappeared. Two more enemies joined it to move toward Fengsu's position. But with those two who were nearest to Fengsu's location disappeared, Fengsu had confidence at finishing Jiang Nan.

Wang Yuehei's servant was frantically trying to understand what just happened to their colleagues when a few minutes later another one was killed and shortly followed by Jiang Nan's death. Now, more than ever, they feared for their own lives.

"Someone must used some kind of illusive skill."

"Keep your eyes open."

The death of their colleagues were to quick and undetected. Everyone of them was put their safety as priority now. They moved  some of their zombies to form a tight defensive wall around them and watched their surrounding carefully.

Fengsu quickly changed his location, away from his pursuer. With few more commanders died, he wrestled the control over a large number of zombies and restored his thinning army of zombies. While Huang Wen ran back to pick up Song Jian and Yu Hee.

"Huang Wen, where have you been? Are you alright?", Song Jian and Yu Hee asked.

"Yes, I'm fine. I just dealt some enemies. Now, we should get ready to move again. Our enemy is in chaos right now.", Huang Wen replied.

A few minutes later, Huang Wen contacted Fengsu, 'Fengsu, moved the zombies now, let's break through their formation.'

Fengsu was taken aback, suddenly Huang Wen's existence returned to his mind. He realized something was missing from his memories, some important information of Huang Wen's action.

'Kid... what have you done?', he asked, suddenly he was scared of Huang Wen.

'Nothing, just some tricks, now move your zombies.', said Huang Wen forcefully.

'Okay, we'll break through their formation now. They were in chaos now.', Fengsu shrugged off that feeling and quickly instructed his zombies to open a path for Huang Wen and his families.

Using the chance when their enemy feared for their life, helped by Fengsu, Huang Wen, Song Jian and Yu Hee quickly left the battle field.

Mean while the zombies commander were busy contacting each other through their network.

"Send more zombies to block them!"

"No! We've lost too many. As of now, the losses still manageable and won't affect our main objectives, but if we insist on fighting and lose even more. We will win this battle, but the casualties might be big enough to affect the result of our main objectives."

"Are you saying, we should just let them go?"

"Yes, just let them go. focused our zombies to form a defensive walls around us. I think they won't be so crazy to insist on fighting either."

"Lord Wang Yuehei will be angry when he hear this."

"I'll take the responsibility."

Zhao Yulang, a promising commander among Wang Yuehei's servants. He instructed his zombies to form a platform for him. Some sort of tower, built from zombies were made. He lightly leaped from one zombie to another, climbed higher and reached the top in a few minutes.

He watched Huang Wen, Song Jian and Yu Hee walked away from their army. Nearly a thousand zombies, formed a defensive walls around those three.

Zhao Yulang scanned the battlefield, until he found Fengsu.

His sharp eyes, caught their features and his brain faithfully kept it within his memories.

Zhao Yulang smiled, "Interesting ... , this new world is interesting."

"The one with the long sword, must be the one who killed our side in quick succession. He is the same man who broke through our siege last week. The other one, isn't he a demon? Or is he the same of us?"
