Turles gave in to his Saiyan instincts as training for the far future. He forced all unnecessary thoughts to the back of his mind as he repeated the word, freedom. Complete and utter freedom to move his body according to his desires. With his fist coated in ki, Turles shattered the exoskeleton of a rolling insect. His whole arm penetrated through the bug’s torso, splattering him with its light green blood.
This did little to dissuade the other insects from attacking, but that was perfectly fine with Turles as the ones behind him tried to ram into his exposed back. Turles grinned as a purple light lit up at the tip of his tail. A tiny energy sphere shot out from the tip of his tail, causing an explosion that even affected Turles. As the insects were reduced to blood smears from the explosion, Turles was sent flying forward with his body feeling the impact of the explosion.
His foot came crashing down on the first insect that he kicked away, completely spearing through its body. Turles looked back with a grin on his face as he freed his leg from the gushy corpse. Hmm, it turns out that explosion was more powerful than he thought. Most of the bugs were in pieces all across the sand pit. The remaining survivors decided to act wisely. They dragged away the corpses of their allies to eat instead of pointlessly endangering their lives by taking on Turles.
Turles shrugged as he felt the singeing pain on his back from his own attack. He flew up out of the pit and started to look for his base. There was no recollection of his actions as a Great Ape. As far as Turles knew, he could have traveled halfway across the planet during his rampage last night. He should create a beacon of some sort back at the oasis.
Although Turles didn’t know the way home, it wasn’t that hard to follow the trail of destruction left behind by his Great Ape self. Eventually, he would find the starting point. Along the way, he snatched up a few monster corpses to cook when he returned to base. He was starving.
Turles returned to base and was happily surprised to see the place wasn’t destroyed. On his way over here, he spotted one of those giant cacti and blew a hole in it as a mark. This cactus wasn’t that far from his base. It would serve as a good landmark during his Great Ape training.
“I am in control.”
“I am in control.”
“I am in control!”
By the time Turles made it back to his base, the full moon was already on its way to rising high in the sky. He quickly began preparations to cook and had a nice feast before meditating. His belly swelled from the ridiculous amount of monsters he ate. Saiyan biology was truly miraculous.

Turles made eye contact with the moon.
“I am in control…”
“I am in---”
“GRRRR”
“ROAAAARRRR!!!” Turles fully transformed.
When he regained consciousness, Turles was resting next to the corpse of a giant worm-like creature covered in sand-colored scales. He was upset about his failure but wasn’t too upset now that he saw this bug next to him. Was it possible that his ape self learned from his first experience? It actually left him food! Or perhaps it was just a coincidence. Turles hoped it wasn’t a coincidence, but he’s only transformed twice now. Far too little evidence to claim anything yet.
Turles chopped off a large part of the giant worm to eat as he retraced his Great Ape self’s path of destruction. He flew for hours, searching for the giant cactus with a hole. Comparing his time flying today to yesterday’s time, there wasn’t much difference. Great Ape Turles seemed to have traveled the same distance as it did the night before.
When Turles made it back to base, he repeated his actions from the day before. He ate, meditated, and practiced improving his ki control and waited for the moon to rise once more. Turles closed his eyes as he manipulated a ball of ki above his palm. The purple ball slowly shifted forms. It turned from a ball into a cube into a triangle into a serrated greatsword. Then from a greatsword into a ring of energy and ended with a spinning razor-sharp disc. Although Turles was capable of great ki control, it didn’t mean that his power was anything impressive. Against someone strong, perhaps only the makeshift Destructo Disk could threaten them. Everything else was only useful against those near his strength or below.
But the Destructo Disk was pretty damn good on its own. As long as he used it when his opponent wasn’t aware of his existence, it was a certain kill for most people. The problem with Krillin in the show was that he had no idea how to efficiently use his own technique. It was an assassination technique, not the type of technique that should be used like an energy wave.
A majority of people in the universe had little idea of how to sense ki. For those strong enough to sense ki, this technique was mostly useless on them in the first place. This meant that only people with superior senses would be able to sense it coming. If you’re going to assassinate someone with good senses, you’ll need more of a plan than just secretly throwing a Destructo Disk and hoping everything goes as planned anyway.
Turles looked up at the full moon for a third time, and just like before, he lost all sense of himself. When he came to on top of a giant rock, there was no corpse or food around him. He sighed in annoyance as yesterday was just a coincidence. It seemed this was going to take longer than he had thought. But he had time. Plenty of time before the story truly started. Turles refused to believe that he wouldn’t be able to conquer this transformation before he exterminated all life on this planet.
