*bang bang bang*
"Wake up Kyle, you're going to be late!" Someone was yelling for him and banging on the door, and Kyle woke up. He looked next to him and saw an empty bed, and then dragged himself out of his own.
"What is it?" Kyle said in a sleepy voice. Kyle used his tangerers to open the draw of the dresser with his clothes in it, and he took the new set out.
"We are going to be late for the entrance ceremony because of you! Jocelyn and Florianne already left!" Micky was the one at the door, and then Kyle remembered that he was supposed to meet them all today. It was just so early.
"Entrance ceremony?" Kyle got on his clothes and opened the door. Micky was dressed up a little better than before, and it was clear what he had before was just traveling gear. Like Kyle, Micky had worn plain clothes for the trip to Vegaville.
"Yeah and we got to go now!" Micky grabbed Kyle's hand and pulled him along down the hall. They both ran down the stairs to the 1st floor and went outside.
The ground of the school was a little different from the other day, and a large crowd had formed. Micky and Kyle took a spot near the end of it and looked over at everyone. There was a 2:5 ratio of boys to girls in the crowd.
'Mah boy Akira, what a magical place you have made.' Kyle thought as he looked at everyone. He had forgiven 3 of the heroes, even if he could not forgive Asura.
"We really got a bad place all the way back here. Let's try and push our way to Jocelyn and Florianne." Micky said as he tried to part the crowd.
"Sorry, excuse me!" Micky pushed on and Kyle followed him until they got to Jocelyn and Florianne about halfway in the crowd.
"Hey, you finally got out here!" Jocelyn was happy to see Micky and grabbed him between a few people to push them out of the way. Micky was a tough guy of sorts.
"Yeah sorry, this guy takes forever to wake up." Micky pointed back at Kyle with his thumb and stood next to Jocelyn.
"Hi Kyle." Florianne turned a little red when she greeted Kyle, and the sounds of events being triggered could be heard in the distance. It was a strange sound though, like someone else was triggering the events.
"Hi Florianne." Kyle would have gone red too, if that was something he could fake. Kyle had no problem talking with Florianne while he tried to think of what erotic novel most resembled the current situation.
"I thought you might have gotten sick or something, It would be bad to not show up for the entrance ceremony." Florianne looked all over the place while she talked to Kyle.
"Well, I don't get sick easily." What Kyle said may or may not have been true. If he ever got sick, he could just cast [Cure] on himself.
"Looks like they are going to start speaking soon." Florianne looked at the stage and Kyle did too. In front of the two of them was Micky and Jocelyn being very touchy, but even further was Marvin Akira walking onto the stage.
"Looks like we have a good crowd of new students this year." Akira said in a loud voice as he looked over the crowd with exaggerated movements. He put his left hand over his eyebrows to block the sun and turned his whole body when looking left and right.
"---" Marvin gave a speak about the importance of magicians to the empire and even to small villages. He spoke for a while about how mages are useful in every aspect of life, no matter what their types are or how good they are at the magic. Getting the magic card was the first step, and enrolling at a mage school was the second. Students would be expected to spend 7 years in the mage school before moving on to greater things, and everyone from the Vegaland Mage School would be a strong mage when they graduated.

It was a boring speech to hype up the children in the crowd, but Kyle was not falling for it. He knew something was up with the way mage training was done, and it was not to make strong mages.
"Now, if boys would line up on the left and the girls on the right, we can start getting your measurements for your school robes." Marvin walked off the stage and a few people walked onto it. The people that walked onto the stage placed some dividers from the both sides and the crowd, and then began taking people behind them. It took about 30 seconds to measure someone, and there were about 100 boys and 250 girls.
Kyle was looking at the girls getting on the stage and stopped at someone. It had been a few months since he saw her, but right now she was within his sight.
"You like that one Kyle?" Micky said as he saw Kyle looking at one particular girl in line for longer than usual. Micky himself was going down the whole line and giving them ratings.
"...It's complicated." Kyle was not sure how to explain it. He wanted to talk to Beth, but he had scared her by killing the two kidnappers. He almost got her taken away by kidnappers to some unknown place. Kyle thought he could relax because he was a kid now, but he was wrong. Kyle always had to be alert, and right now he was trying to be alert about her feelings.
"If something is complicated, just un-complicate it." Micky spoke like he was the expert on the matter. 8 year old hustler.
"What does that even mean?" Kyle did not understand Micky's reasoning. Beth needed time, and then she would seek him out.
"Whenever Jocelyn gets the wrong idea about me, or some rumor that I beat someone up for no reason surfaces, I just make her talk it out with me. As men, we have to take charge of that kind of thing." Kyle really wondered what kind of person Micky was to be talking like that.
But if forcing Beth to talk with him could solve everything, Kyle had to try it.
Kyle and Micky got their chance to get their measurements taken, left their name and room number with the person at a desk next to the measurement taker, and then they walked off the stage to select their classes.
"You have full types right?" Micky asked as they walked to the classroom building.
"Yeah that's right." Kyle answered. He had full types and didn't care if everyone knew it.
"Then you have to take Healing. Dude, there will be like 90% girls in those classes." Kyle knew this fact. Healing was more comment in women and earth was more common in men. Jocelyn was a strange case of being an earth type and a girl.
"It sucks that we have to take Ethics though." It was in Marvin's speech, that all first year students had to take an ethics class to learn when and when not to use magic.
"Yeah, but that still leaves room for 3 other classes." Micky knew what he was going to pick. Fire Ice and Earth, this 3 types.
"I'm going to pick Ethics for first period so I can sleep through it." Kyle was not going to particularly like any of the classes, but Ethics would be the worse. Right now, Kyle was only going to the school for the 40 gold coins.
"Let's just get our classes signed up first." Micky and Kyle were walking to the building with Ethics classes in them.
"Yeah let's go." Kyle followed Micky.

Kyle and Micky signed up for Ethics first period, Healing for Kyle 2nd, and Ice for Micky 2nd, Earth for 3rd, Fire for 4th. The two of them stood by the girl's dorm to try and catch Jocelyn and Florianne if they went to their rooms. Lucky for them, they saw Jocelyn and Florianne coming soon after.
"Hey, we have to sign up for the same classes quickly!" Micky ran after Jocelyn and she picked up on what was happening and ran with him.
"Where first?" Jocelyn asked as she followed Micky.
"Ethics!"
"Sign me up too!" Florianne yelled at her friends as they ran off to another building. Now it was just Kyle and Florianne in front of the girl's dorm.
"I signed up for Healing in the second period if you want to sign up for that too." Kyle said to Florianne as he acted a little bashful.
"Hey, no boys allowed in the girl's dorm!" Some old woman came from the dorm and yelled at Kyle.
"Okay! Florianne, let's get out of here." Kyle yelled okay to the hag and then started walking off.
"Sure, show me the way to the classroom." Florianne followed Kyle to the healing class and she signed up for it too.

Kyle went by himself back to the boys dorm, but along the way he saw someone he knew. Kyle stopped walking and called out to them.
"Tyler!" Kyle was angry at Tyler for not waking him up when they both had the same event to go to. Kyle was about to chase after Tyler who was quickly walking across the grass, but then he was someone else. From the corner of his eye, Kyle could see someone who had had not spoken to in a few months. Kyle turned to face them and then called out another name.
"Beth!"
