It is August 29th, and something special is happening today. Kyle will be turning 2 years old in just 14 more days, but that is not important to the current situation. Kyle has been quite the enthusiastic mover recently, and his range of body movements had increased to walking around the house. It is an utterly small house though, so there is not much space to walk around in. Along with this change, Kyle has started to allow himself to use small phrases.
It was just a few months ago that Kyle was becoming proficient at walking and talking, and Kathy came to the house to visit.
"Oh wow, it sure is getting big." Elena said as she looked at Kathy's pregnant belly. Elena could tell that Kathy probably had a couple more months to go, but it was bigger than when she was coming over every day to show it off.
"You say I don't need to do anything special while pregnant?" Kathy asked her friend. Elena was pregnant just a little over a year and a half ago and from the circle of people she knew, Elena was the expert.
"Just don't drink alcohol and take care of your body." Elena said in a slightly condescending way. "The child will feed from you while it is growing and you can only give it the best."
"What do you think I should do Kyle?" Kathy asked him.
Kyle was suddenly put on the spot and had to think of something a toddler would say. "Yes." He said, as if that would be sufficient for the two women.
"Oh, little Kyle is just so cute!" Kathy said, looking over at him from the other side of the couch. During these conversations, Kyle normally sat on Elena's lap while she and Kathy spoke, but for a while now, Kyle had been sitting next to her. Kyle was far from an expert on the subject, but Elena was pregnant as well and though it was a few months less along than Kathy, it was probably best not to put pressure on it.
"I just wish he would say a little more." Said Elena, also looking at Kyle. She had been teaching Kyle words every day, but Kyle had spent enough time doing quest for orphanages to know that children do not just suddenly start speaking and walking. Kyle would have chosen to crawl much sooner, but he risked getting splinters from the wooden floor.

The two women gradually talked less and less as Kathy became larger and she eventually stopped coming to visit, about 2 months ago. That is what leads to the present.
"Elena, come quick, Kathy is going to be giving birth soon!" Fred shouted from the doorway to the house. It was already a little after mid-day and Fred should have been at the barracks, or on the town wall.
"Giving birth today?" Elena said as she got up. She looked at what she was wearing and determined it was fine, and then looked at Kyle.
"She is giving birth now!" Fred said.
'I guess that means you want me to get dressed two?' Kyle thought as he went to get some clothes on. He never left the house, but he thought his parents had these clothes to last him if he ever wanted to leave, which he did not. Kyle got put on his outside clothes that he had in his room and came back into the living room.
"I have to go back to the barracks, but I didn't think you would want to miss this, and Paul that Kathy could use your support. I have to go now." Fred said as he started to walk out the door.
"Me and Kyle will be there as soon as we can." Elena said as her husband walked out the door and she looked the Kyle who was walking into the room. "Come on Kyle, we are going to Kathy's house. You know Kathy right?" Elena said to Kyle.
"Yeah, let go." Kyle said, purposefully getting a word a little wrong.
Kyle was taken out of the house for the first time and... it was not much to be happy for. Nothing of importance was gained by leaving the house in that instance. The front yard was non-existent and the path was made from stone loosely put together.
Turning left in front of the house and going down the street, the houses on the left were made from wood as if it was several years before the ones on the right side which were made from cob or something similar. The street had sidewalks level with the street, but they were paved while the street was dirt. It would not be hard to trip if running.
The street curved a little to the left and branched out on the right. Down the branching street Kyle could not see any houses made from wood, and there might have even been businesses in the furthest parts. The streets in all these parts were wide enough for two carriages to fit down, and the branching street may have been able to fit 3. It was not very long until Kyle and Elena reached a house on the left side of the street, made from wood like their own, and stopped in front of it. Elena had been to this place before, but Kyle had not.

"This is Kathy's home. Let's go inside now." Elena said as she held Kyle's hand and walked to the door.
----------------------------------------
Inside the only other building he had ever been inside other than his own house in this life, it was very similar. The whole space was organized mostly the same and even had the rooms in the same places.
Elena and Kyle went to the bedroom forward and to the right and saw Kathy on the bed being assisted by a doctor. The doctor was the same healing mage that had seen Kyle when he used up all of his mana, but of course Kyle did not know about this.
"Elena, it is good that you came." Paul said who want standing next to Kathy. Paul looked like he was sweating even though he was not the one doing any work, though some might call it work just standing in the same room.
"Is it coming out?!" Kathy asked the doctor who was looking at her. Kathy was in a large amount of pain, and was justified for the amount she was sweating.
"It is not yet." The doctor said while he checked things.
"Are you sure you should have brought Kyle with you?" Paul asked as he turned to Kyle who was just staring at Kathy.
'Is this how people give birth?' Kyle thought. He had never seen someone give birth, and even though he was a master at healing magic, if his abilities got out, he would never have a peaceful night of sleep, and he would not be able to let anything happen to a baby being delivered while he was in the room, so he stayed away from that kind of thing.
'I'm glad I don't have to do this.' Kyle also thought. He was glad he would never be laying on a bed while sweating profusely and being in enormous pain, all the while having the equivalent to the largest turd humanity has ever conceived come out while a stranger gives the play by play.
"Everything is going as expected Mrs. Drought." The doctor said. He was looking over the area and was certainly trained for this kind of thing. He knew what to do.
"Ah!" Kathy screamed and the doctor said something too.
"I see a head!" The doctor said as he looked up at Kathy. Though she was in a lot of pain, she was being comforted by Paul and reassured that everything was going fine.
It took an eternity, but when it was done, there was silence from everyone other than Kathy.
"How... how is it?" She asked, but there was no sound in the room. Not even from a crying baby.
The doctor held in his hands a lifeless bloody mass as Paul could only cry about the situation and Elena cursed the heavens for the turn of events. Kyle looked at the baby too and was in disbelief.
'All that work for this?' He asked himself. 'This isn't going to fly, not while we have the 5th hero here.' Kyle thought to himself and took a few steps back. He might have not been superiority hidden from view of everyone, but he was not going to make a chant so it would be fine. '[Resurrect]' Kyle used the spell from his chant-less method.
"Waa!" Crying filled the room after only a few seconds. Everyone in the room's eyes looked at the baby that was not quite full of color, but was nevertheless alive. A wave of relief rushed over everyone in the room, except the doctor.

POV: Healing Mage
I'm not sure what I saw, but it was a miracle from God. Surely only Saint Ajoras himself could have performed such a miracle, but something happened.
The boy who came with his mother to watch the birth and support the new mother... did something. He stepped back and then raised his hand. A few seconds later, the baby in my arms that was non-living immediately from birth, was suddenly alive, as if the several seconds before were a lie by reality.
It had to be a coincidence. He just put his hand in front of him to block the sight. Yeah, that's right, he doesn't like blood. Who would even bring their child of just a couple years to someone giving birth? That's what happened. A coincidence. Nothing more.
----------------------------------------
"It's a girl." The doctor said as he took a soft cloth he had nearby and cleaned off the baby a little bit. He then presented it to Kathy and she took her from him. The girl had little blonde hairs coming from her head and was not deformed in the slightest. Whatever worries Kathy had about the child not being human turned out to be nothing.
"Do you remember the name we agreed on?" Paul asked while his tears from heartbreak turned to tears of joy.
"Yeah I remember." Said Kathy who was just as happy. "If it's a boy, Tobias, if it's a girl, Claire."
And thus on August 29th, Claire Drought was born.
