Arc 1 - 17 - Living the Dream

Kyle put the books back and calmly left the library. He had one task on his mind, and it completely filled him. He did not care about his revenge as long as he could do this. It was 3,000 years, he could forgive them if this power could be used a certain way. It would all be worth it for one thing to be true.

"Thank you Mr. Reese, I will be sure to come back again tomorrow." Kyle said as he walked out the door. He had been in the library for about 4 hours and it was lunchtime.

Kyle did not hear what Mr. Reese said as he left, Kyle just kept going to the clearing. He was on a hunt, and the clearing would have the most prey the type he was looking for. The street was busy this time of day, so Kyle had plenty of targets, he just needed to pick the right one to be his first.

'Too big, not enough, too tight, strange proportions..." Kyle was observing the women pass by while he looked for the perfect opportunity. She needed to be the right size and have enough bagginess in her clothing to facilitate what he was going to do next.

It was a simple problem of applied physics. When Kyle lifted the book, he could feel it. He could feel the texture of the leather bound book, and that same principle was going to be applied to 'invisible hands' in this situation too.

Kyle was going to do some long-distance chest groping.

"There!" Kyle said out loud as he could not contain his excitement. About 50 feet down the street on the edge of the circle was woman with excellent proportions, and a huge rack. Her dress was red and had a lot of fabric, she probably came from the 4th district.

"Now go!" Kyle was able to use 'invisible hands' now that his soul was moved to a new spot in his body, and in only a second, the real magic happened. The races of this planet had been searching for the wrong thing. They always wanted stronger and more efficient spells, but none of that was really important. In this moment, Kyle was beyond such simple things. He was at a new plain of being.

"I'm king of the world! HAHAHAHA"

It was a huge success.

It was indescribable what Kyle felt now, even though on the physical level it was several women's chest at the same time, inside him it was ecstasy. Kyle completely forgot about the rage inside of him for Asura killing him and the others killing his legend.

All was right with the world.

----------------------------------------

Kyle skipped over lunch and ran from end to end of the 3rd district. He got tired quickly and had to rest, but that just meant he was making a base of operations. Kyle needed a high spot in the town that could look at the entire 3rd district. He did not find such a place.

'Suck it Asura, I have grown more powerful than you could ever imagine!' It was not long ago that Asura told Kyle he would not be able to match up with him, but now Kyle had a new power with no limit to it's uses.

'Big ones, small ones, circle ones, oval ones, perky ones, saggy ones, they will all be mine!' Kyle went home with only one thing on his mind. 'King of the castle' 'Master of their domain' Both these things could be used to describe Kyle right now, because nobody had the power he had.

"You're looking happy, Kyle." Elena greeted Kyle as he came home. It was about 14:00 and both Elena and Dave had already eaten, and the table was clean.

"Yeah, I read a little from a book and the library operator let me have the pass for free." That was not the true reason Kyle was so happy, but it would make Elena happy that he could keep the money.

"Oh wow, but Kyle, where did you learn to read?" Elena asked him the question. THE question. How did he know what he knew?

"Ah..." Kyle did not know what to say. In his past life, he was taught by his parents at around the age of 5 so he could read magic books and spells. In this life, Elena couldn't read, Fred was pretty abysmal at it, and Kyle did not know the status of Kathy or Paul when it came to reading ability.

Even if Kyle said he learned it from Kathy, there just wasn't time for that. It was impossible whatever Kyle said.

"I just picked it up." Kyle up on the biggest smile he had and looked up at Elena.

"..." There was a pause.

And then there was embrace.

"I've got a genuine genius in my house!" Elena was very happy. If her son was a genius, she must have been a top-tier mother. Letting her son leave the house my himself to walk around the town was a great decision, at least in her mind.

"I wonder if Dave is going to be a genius?" Elena looked over at Dave who was sitting on the floor. He was probably not going to be anything special.

"He sure will!" The same reasoning did not apply to Elena though, because if one of her children could already read, the other was sure to as well.

Elena played with Dave on the floor while Kyle went to the couch and thought about his future. Kyle was not going to abandon his plan for revenge, but it was going to take a back burner. One things was certain about this world:

Descendants of the other heroes had their days numbered.

Untouched chest of beautiful women had their days numbered.

----------------------------------------

For the next 2 years, every day was filled with fun for Kyle Mercer. After a few months of actually doing what he told his mother he was going to do, Kyle started to go into the 1st district to train.

First Kyle worked on his agility and stamina. It was absolutely essential to have high stamina for when chasing after the perfect chest, and sometimes obstacles would present themselves that needed high agility and dexterity to get around.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

To train these things, Kyle ran laps around the 1st district. He could not do it in the 2nd district because he would become distracted too easily, and not in the 3rd either. The 1st district was very large and had many obstacles. Homeless people, trash piles, random pieces of furniture thrown out, it was excellent training.

Kyle then training his sword abilities. Kyle would make a sword from stone and swing it all day. It was strange to see a little kid swinging a sword in an ally in the 1st district, but whenever someone spoke to him, Kyle would cast [Confuse] and the person would act drunk and stumble away.

Kyle trained in 3 swords styles.

1) Floating-Swan Style. Quick movements that dodge the opponent and attack lightly at many weak points. Best used on heavily armored foes.

2) Lightning-Tiger Style. Quick movements for always being on the attack. The best defense is a good offense, and lightning-tiger style believes in that 100%.

3) Hidden-Dragon Style. Assassination skills. Throwing swords, daggers, knives, darts, duel and wielding these thing, it was all under the hidden-dragon style.

Someone could be called a swords master when they mastered one of these styles. Both Kyle and the hero Kirito mastered all three. At the end of the 2 years, Kyle was able to use them to the level of mastery too.

Thirdly, Kyle trained his martial techniques. The Wolf Fang Fist was the most powerful martial technique taught to Kyle in is past life, but after utilizing his soul power, he damaged his ki pathways. Kyle reached a level of insight into 'I lift things up and put them down.' but he had not regained his ability to use his ki, and he did not even feel more powerful. It would take at least 7 more years after his training to regain his ki.

The 4th method of training however, it was in the library.

POV: Kyle Mercer, Thornberry Public Library, The day after discovery of the divine power.

Kyle woke up in a much happier mood this day. A huge weight had been lifted from his shoulders, the weight of a grudge from events 3,000 years prior. Some could say Kyle had the attitude of a free man, and man with potential only limited by the number of women between the ages of 15-35.

'I can't wait to read some more books today.' Kyle had a long time to continue his divine quest, so for now he would find out more on the history of this new time, and maybe he would try to make himself an interesting person.

'I've got my good looks and charm to take me far in this world, and any woman I can't have... I have invisible hands.' Kyle was becoming a world class pervert in less than 24 hours after discovery of the new power.

"Good morning Dave, isn't it a great day to be sentient?" Dave was almost 1 year old. Though he thought the world was a great place, it was not for the same reasons.

Kyle walked out of his room and smelt the air in the house. It smelt like dirt, but that was alright because it always smelt like that.

"So what is our little genius going to do today?" Elena asked Kyle as she saw him come into the room. It was still early in the morning, and the library would probably be closed, so Kyle took a seat on the couch next to Elena and stretched out his arms.

"I'm going to go back to the library. There are a lot of interesting books about other towns."

"That sounds interesting. The town Fred and I came from, Pricklebush, never had anything happen in it. To think some towns are so important that they made books about them."

'Well that is a good thing, because most of these books are about disasters.' Most of the books Kyle had read were about a monster attacking a village, or a natural disaster, or a gang of criminals. There was very little about towns where things were peaceful.

"But you know," Elena was not done talked yet though. "I kind of like how peaceful it is."

Both Elena and Fred were incredibly simple people. Sometimes Kyle could not stand it. Kyle left just after breakfast with the family and went straight to the library. The great thing about 'invisible hands' was that when he thought about something they would just do it. He previously needed to focus on a specific task, but after several hours of practice, Kyle was able to move the 'invisible hands' with commands such as 'That one'.

"Good morning Mr. Reese." Mr. Reese was at the library and sitting in the same spot as the day before.

"Morning Kyle. You here to read or check out a book?" Mr. Reese looked up from his book and looked at Kyle.

"I'm just here to read today."

"Well, alright then." Mr. Reese went back to reading and Kyle went to the second floor to read without Mr. Reese watching him.

'Hn... I picked a few up yesterday, but I didn't read any of the books on the top shelf.' Kyle wondered what the books were, and came to the conclusion that they were probably about wars. That was exactly what he needed to read.

When Kyle got to the 2nd floor, he went into a row and using 'invisible hands' to pick a book from the top shelf. Kyle was so interested in his new ability that he did not read the titles of the books he picked out, but his was read "Bella and the Blacksmith".

Kyle read a few pages and the put it back. He picked out another book from the top, but it was the same. Every book from the top was the same. It was just a bunch of erotic novels!

'No that isn't right...' Kyle was onto something, he knew what these really were.

'These are training manuals.'
