V2 Chapter 7.6 Fitz's First day.

V2 Chapter 7.6 Fitz's First day.

Fitz headed to school. It was an academy that had high school, middle school and primary school combined. An academy known as Muliveria Academy. Rich, famous in just about every sense of the word. Fitz was just going to stick out like a sore thumb, but he's also here because of the fact that he had been transferred here to keep two people safe. Bigby and Alex Glenn.

The Muliveria Academy was a place that had housed the Training Grounds for Hunters since more students had been growing as Hunters. Yet, despite all that Fitz was unsure how he felt about it. Was there gonna be any bullying? Bigby had Ferno as a familiar while Alex had Cinder by her side.

Stepping into the academy had Fitz feeling the annoying gaze by the other students. Mainly because Fitz didn't button up his collar, he dressed like a delinquent and in an academy that is as premier as this? It meant that Fitz was not from a rich family. Piercing gaze that was just as annoying as bugs climbing his body. Fitz heard some screams, seeing a few newly awakened Hunters that were already causing problems. Using their powers to bully the weaker ones. The students were injured, Fitz snapped his fingers freezing the bullying Hunters in place.

Not that anyone would notice it was him anyway, as the bullied students ran off. Scratching his head as he went to the staff room.

"Hi. Looking for the staff room." Fitz asked a student, his pressence caused her to shriek out of surprise.

"Nevermind. I'll find it myself. Sorry for bothering you. Fitz headed over to find a Miss Harvey, a young teacher who was in charge of the students who were part of the Hunter Curriculum. Though Fitz's status as a A- Rank Hunter had been concealed because Margen and the Association Chairman Hargrave pulled some strings. So Fitz was just a normal student here, just a Hunter that's just awakened. That and some of the Jesters that he knew were present as Instructors.

"Alright. Fitz, let's go to class." Fitz could hear the annoying mumbles about how he's a delinquent despite Fitz not doing anything delinquent like. Not even beating anyone up yet. Some of the stories were concocted out of their own amusement. Gossips always been an easy way for people to get close, despite how ridiculous it can be.

If you hit it off with the right person, you can get so much details from day one. Entering the class, Fitz noticed that the class only had 3 boys.

"My name is Fitz Givens. Nice to meet you. I... I think?"

"Alright, take your seats." Fitz headed off to take a seat, where he had the books inside his bag. This was going to be a chore but at the very least, Fitz got to experience school again. Something normal even for him? Now that was nice.

The cover story itself? Well Fitz Ryan is the neighbour that was adopted by the rich Ryan family. Who also died during a mass dungeon convergence a few years ago. Though Fitz was fine, his familiars were here. Fool of Zero and the Arcanas that he had. Sticking to his shadows like glue, they didn't want to leave Fitz alone for even a brief moment.

The first recess bell had rung loud enough to shower the entire school with it. Fitz headed out to see the Jesters that were present, they were about to salute him.

"Stop." He spoke to them telepathically.

"I'm just an F-Rank here. Try not to slip up. I've already changed my appearance a lot but it seems that my ice can still be felt. I need more training. Make sure the Hunters don't bully the students. I'll deal with the non-Hunters that bully others." Fitz said as they continued with their duties.

Going to the cafeteria, he could see Bigby and Alex eating together. Ferno was staying close by Bigby's side, but now? Fitz could definitely see Vingthor and Lopt within Bigby and Alex's shadows. This might be overkill. Mostly because Vingthor and Lopt are Ancients and their strength was above Cinder and Ferno.

"Lopt? Vingthor? Why are you here?"

"Oh just to see what these two are like." Lopt answered while Vingthor was just snoring in the shadows. Fitz grabbed a plate of pancakes and a cup of tea. Taking his seat alone as he ate his meals without much thought to the taste. Focusing more on the environment. There were quite a number of Familiars here. None of them are Ancient class or Sovereign class but some have potential to go higher. There was one that even Fitz had felt. An ice that was filled with darkness. The kind of ice that devils would crave.

An ice that would trap light within it, just to keep its shine. This ice? Fitz felt like it was glaring right at him. It was trying to form a cage to trap Fitz inside of it. Refusing to let Fitz go. Blinking again, Fitz found himself surrounded in darkness. This was just how this particular ice was. A Familiar of ice that was awaiting for his call.

Fitz found himself in a castle of darkness, seeing a suit of armor that was made with the black mist that came from the ice itself. The rime ice formed all over the castle's walls, floors and ceilings. Kneeling with a blade. The armor was white wielding a blade that was pointed to the ground. A cape that was formed over the body, it's helmet's motif was designed after a wolf. The top half covered the head, the dark blue fur over the sides. The shoulder pauldrons were shaped like the wolf's head. Gauntlets that had sharpened wolf claws, this armor itself was alive.

"So you must be hoping for someone to accept the ice that lies with you?"

"Yes.." The armor rattled its thoughts over to Fitz via telepathy.

"A fallen knight, one whose existence was forgotten. The black mist that carries you, it is not of hatred. It is of duty. Your duty to the throne that you protect is all that you have. Now you wait until you are called again."

You could be reading stolen content. Head to Royal Road for the genuine story.

"Yes." The armor rattled.

"I will return to see your determination." Fitz opened his eyes, squeezing his eyes and massaging his forehead. It seemed that his mana was sucked clean, despite the huge capacity that he head. The table he was sitting was now covered in black ice, but that was just the beginning. Fitz had not felt something as intense as that, and the knight's stoic nature? That was a bonus and the strength that the knight had? It was like a beast that was caged for its own good. If that cage rattles, it can break the bars of its cage but when its unleashed? Can it be controlled?

Fitz headed back to class where he was asked to join others for a group work. Joining a Melissa, Lyn and Delilah in the groupwork. They were newly awakened Hunters. Melissa was a cleric, Lyn was a summoner and Delilah was an apprentice pegasus knight. The groupwork was to understand their classes, In Fitz's case his class was Closer. Closers were as the name suggest close range specialists with a bonus to their attacks when they are in range of the enemy's attacks. The closer you are to the enemy for a period of time, your attacks get a 25% boost by default. 1 minute to stay close and then it'll activate. It stacks up to 100% but loses its power when the Closer keeps distance. Attacks suffer a 10% drop up to 75%.

It was an annoying gimmick but Fitz can't complain much about it. It was just how things work here. The classes were gimmicky, Lyn's summons were just a pair of wolves and Delilah was having trouble with her pegasus. The pegasus's mane matched her blonde hair, the pegasus snorted by Delilah's side. Happy and content.

The groupwork was for them to look into details and present their classes. Most of them had the fancier classes like Vanguard, Assassins, Shaman, Soldiers and some of them unlocked the better Hunter classes. Scavenger Gunner, Mechanist, Bird Master, Spellblade and a few others. Just taking in what was it that Scavenger Gunner was about, essentially a Ranger that has a small ammo pool, but enemies will drop resources to make bullets or arrows. Depending on the weapon.

Mechanist was basically making weapons that use a variety of gears. Chainsaws, automated crossbows, compound bows and increases damage with it. Bird Master refers to using a one handed weapon and having birds help do damage. Spellblade was more of a damage dealer and using status effect magic to increase the damage of the weapons in general. The status effects can be bind, restraint or even inflict 'fragile' which meant that attacks will increase damage upon enemies with fragile.

Just learning the fact that there are special requirements that need to be fulfilled for special class usage but some people can get lucky to it. The Closer class was something that was rare and the information about it is little because in the Hunter's rankings 3 S-Ranks had originally started out as Closers before changing into something else. When class was over, Fitz headed over to the library, to find some answers. Looking for books that tell a tale of a knight who fought for his kingdom. Digging through the books, Fitz was unable to find a description that matched what he had seen from the knight in the throne room.

However, there was a match to a lord who died protecting his throne and was kneeling. Lord Xavier Kaya.

"Hi Fitz!" It was Melissa from class. Cute but Fitz has now idea what to say next.

"Hi."

"What are you doing here? We got sparring class later so aren't you going to have lunch?"

"Nah. I got something I need to look into." Fitz said, where Melissa took a seat beside him.

"What are you reading?"

"Just a book about great kings from the past. Lord Xavier Kaya. A lord known for his bloodshed. His populace turned into monsters and they attacked the people. He forced all of his soldiers to evacuate the remaining people outside and not to let the monsters out. Staying behind at the throne room as he fought them off."

"That's... Interesting to you? I mean he's just a myth right?"

"A lot of familiars come from stories like this. I wonder if I'll be able to see him as a Familiar." Fitz asked as he looked at the portrait, the armor was a definite match to the one he had seen before but the name Xavier Kaya would just be a name. Even then, how much of this book's history was true? History only tells a tale that may have been altered to suit the needs of the ones who had power over them.

Fitz continued to read it and when the bell rang. He had to go with Melissa to the sparring class. Where the students will be sparring with one another and a Jester was observing. The Jesters brought some of their reserve A-Rank members to observe because the newly awakened Hunters may not have control over their newly found powers. The sparring was boring to Fitz, but interesting to others. Some of them felt like they were heroes and reenacting their moments from their favourite super hero stories. Though Fitz on the other hand felt that these other teenagers had no idea how dangerous things would be but due to the policy that every Hunter must do some work involving the Hunter's Association.

Soon it was Fitz turn, he was facing a Spellbinder, Kerrie who was wielding her saber and donning full armor. Fitz doesn't have armor, he only had a hooded furcoat with a short sword in hand.

"This'll be easy. Go Kerrie!"

"YOu can do this Kerrie!"

"Go Fitz!" Lyn, Melissa and Delilah were cheering for Fitz which Fitz found it to be interesting.

"Go!" Kerrie was keeping her distance, imbuing mana to her weapons to strike at Fitz. This was to start out Fitz at a disadvantageous start, lowering Fitz's attack power by a large percentage so Kerrie could go in for the kill. However, Fitz was not a timid person. The elements that she used were combining elements of ice and a status effect. Kerrie had a good head on her shoulders, ice and fragile will match up together. Doubling their effects on Fitz if it hit.

Emphasizing the 'If' because Fitz was only dodging the attacks by taking a few steps, and seeing Kerrie intensifying the assault. Swinging her blades constantly, Kerrie was not thinking about her stamina or her MP. Fitz could see the combat skill activate.

'Combat Skill Point Blank Activated : Damage increases by 20% for every 1 minute staying close to enemy's melee range. Caps at 100. Damage loss at 20% for every minute spent away from enemy's melee range. Caps at 75.'

Fitz was keeping track of the oncoming sword slashes, countering it with his short sword was a bad idea. Dodging would be best and looking at how Kerrie was fighting? It was clear that she was slowly losing her MP. Waiting for an opening as Kerrie stumbled forward, Fitz took his chance. Getting in close, placing the blade at Kerrie's neck.

"Fitz wins. Kerrie you got careless with your stamina and mana conservation."

"That was a cheap win, sir!" The Jester who was instructing them, Terra wasn't happy with those words.

"If you fight in the field. It's not about a cheap win. It's about who understands their opponent. You keep thinking like that and you might just cause problems for your teammates in the future." Terra's lecture began, where Fitz headed out without anyone noticing, then looking at Alex who was hanging out with her friends. Cinder was perched over her shoulder.

Making his way to glance over at Bigby's location? Bigby was playing with the other students who took their time to play with Ferno who was enjoying their company. Well something is going well, at the very least. Fitz did not have to see the scene of the Lord of Thorns going ballistic.

There's that benefit. A ballistic Lord of Thorns would be an awful sight, considering that Fitz had read about what had happened to that loan shark named Ross. Driven insane and was subjected to the same treatment a God was.
