V2 Chapter 26 : The Undead vs the Legionnaires.

The Undead army was being pushed back by the Legionnaires who were going at them in a combination of formations. Raw power that crushed skulls, devastating swings that broke through the ghouls and gunfire that roared the supremacy against them.

The Lich Hero was slowly shaking in her boots, trembling as she held her staff. The undead dragons were being climbed by the Legionnaires stabbing its body with mere daggers. The other Heroes were in pain and even when the Lich Hero was using her abilities to strengthen their powers but still it wasn't enough. Her army was being pushed back at a fast and alarming rate. They were being pushed faster than she can make them.

Aries shared the light of his cigarette with Virgo while Leo was loading the bullets in his pistol. The

"Using my technique to increase their lethality and movements. I never thought about using it that way with this symphony."Virgo said as he put his hand by his chin, admiring the synergy of the orchestra of skeletons playing music, led by a skeleton in a suit. They were granting speed buffs and attack power to the Legionnaires. Continuing the assault without giving any chance for the skeletons to reform their bodies.

"I expected better. Anyway." Jensen vanished as he appeared by the Lich Hero's side.Slashing her limbs off and smashing her head to the ground.

"Prison of the Black Flames." Jensen said as the flames swallowed the Lich Hero whole, hearing her scream as the other heroes turned to see their leader be defeated but the Legionnaires pushed the heroes into the ground. Allowing the flames to pull them in.

"Satanael. You can hear me can't you?"

Satanael : Yes I can hear you. Of course I will do the judgement. I suppose it must have been the flame Zodiacs that granted you this power.

"Much obliged, Supreme one."

Satanael sighed and went over to check the flame prison. Beginning his judgement.

Now that was settled, Jensen was a little annoyed. He had expected a bigger fight. He had expected more, but the memories of the Heroes. It was something that Jensen had to keep by his side. The world had wronged these Heroes, they had caused them to suffer. Most of them came from families that had nothing and despite their efforts to change this world. It was the world who rejected them and forced their hand.

The world was never black and white, Jensen knew this more than anyone. Yet, he could not help but feel sorry for them. Satanael's judgement is fair, the kind of fairness one would not expect from the name that is associated as an other worldly evil. They may be changed and saved, or maybe they may be turned as something else.

All who will be judged is to be handled by the Supreme Being Satanael. That is the decree by the many Supreme Ones who viewed Satanael as the most fair. Even to insects. No matter the being, if it was alive. Satanael will judge them according to their actions and thought processes.

Jensen on the other hand took a moment to sit down by the ruined place. A base? This looked like the remnants of a city that had been abandoned by the people. The World itself was lost, wrong time. Wrong place and wrong person. Jensen's only solution would be to turn these heroes into Keepsakes within the black flame prison, hoping that Satanael's judgement would be prudent enough.

The undead army stood with Jensen looking at them.

"If you want to serve. Join the Legion but if you wish to rest, I will not stop you. I cannot change this world's fate, but I can at least put an end to the chaos in my own way." Jensen said as a few of them vanished. The others were undergoing the Legionnaire's association. Transforming them with the black flames and white flames that were forming them into newer beings. Two of them were unique.

Two Keeper's Servants have awakened.

Jaeger, the Hunter of Wind.

Markosias, the Earthen Blade.

Jaeger and Markosias's rank is Legion Officer.

Legion Ranks.

Legionnairy.

Legion Squad Leader

Legion Officer.

Legion Captain.

Legion General.

Legion Commander.

Legionnaire Lord.

Jaeger and Markosias's status has been reflected to your current self.

Jensen looked at Jaeger who had a rifle slung to his back, a pair of sickles over by the chest, a pistol to the thigh and a compound bow in hand. Wearing a tattered cloak with a hood, lowering it to show the black flames that formed his face. Only his eyes could be seen glowing white while his face was obscured by a scarf with intricate patterns.

Markosias was clad in black armor, forged by the flames. White flames made the body, with glowing black eyes. The helmet of a beast with a protruding headpiece that resembled a mohawk. A large shield in one hand and the great sword in the other. A hulking beast when compared to the ordinary Legionnaires.

Jensen also noticed something flying above him. Black flames trailed from behind, the fighter pilots inside were skeletons bathed in white flames. A flight of a dozen jets. Forward swept wings with their patterns forming of pure black with white markings of a bird.

The Remnants of the 11th Air Division 51st Tactical Fighter Squadron 1st Flight

Callsign Crow.

They pilot the experimental plane known as the Su-47SB

Super Berkut. They were part of Shoarian Air Force.

Their souls had been trapped by the necromancers. Now they have joined you as your aerial combat aces.

In their prime, this unit was known for its prowess in aerial combat, known to use diving down tactics on the enemies as they unleashed their payloads on enemies.

Their weapons will reload instantaneously until they are shot down.

They will be designated as Aerial Legionnaires.

Will you keep their names?

By becoming your Legionnaires.

They cannot be hacked or shot down easily.

They can also feed you information as they fly around the area.

As Legionnaires of a special type, they will be able to fly without requiring fuel or anything else.

They will absorb mana to restore themselves by the surrounding areas.

Their weapons will change depending on the need of the situation.

They also have stealth capabilities.

"Yeah. I'll keep you guys as Crow." Jensen said as the fighters continued flying about, circling the air on standby.

"Do some reconnaissance." The planes went ahead, turning invisible to the naked eye. Stretching his body to release some of the tension in his muscles. A good stretch does wonders to the body and taking a moment to rinse the chaos off his mind. Just thinking off what else to do. Too much of chaos is unhealthy for the mind, too much of pain and sadness in the mind will wear it down.

Avoid everything in excess, Jensen pulled out another book to read. Telling the tale of a pair of lovers. Heartwarming, a bit of tragedy sprinkled in to ensure that it would not be boring. A tale of two warriors who reincarnated and returned back. The Divine Storm and Maiden of War, their tales had also talked about their encounter with a Keeper.

"It'd be nice to have those two here. Rain Lewis and Margaret Havenspear. It might take some time to meet them again." Jensen spoke out loud, remembering how he met them during his time as a Keeper. They were part of his journey as Ancients. The Divine Storm was the Ancient of Rites and Maiden of War was the Ancient of Oaths.

"You will meet them again. They're Ancients that will respond to your words. All that is needed are the words when the time comes." Jensen smiled to Aries's words but there was another Keeper that Jensen wished had by his side. Ye Qiu, an Avatar of War from the Gods of the East. The one who Jensen was closest to.

"Umbra. Do you remember Ye Qiu?"

"Yes, I remember. An Avatar whose entire life is a cliche. In the Eastern countries he was known as the War God." Jensen smiled at hearing Umbra's words. Remembering how with Ye Qiu, Jensen had to watch people constantly insult Ye Qiu's background and always a beggar. Though they never did knew of Ye Qiu being the War God. Previously he wore full armor but the last time Jensen saw him. Ye Qiu wore a half face mask and wore gloves that stored his weapons.

Just remembering how Ye Qiu kept his powers hidden because he cut ties with his family was amusing, perhaps Jensen can go check on that world when this is over but first. He needed to get this one cleaned up, where Umbra brought something for him.

It was rations that was made by Sagittarius, easy to use. Just use the flames in the mana to heat it up. Mediterranean rice with lamb shank. Pretty fancy for a ration, and it doesn't look too bad too. Proper food that Jensen would eat first as he waited for the next problem.

Seeing through the eyes of the Crow squadron that showed the bases of the Heroes. Jensen was going to be here for a good while, but either way. It's not as if he would be bored, perhaps. He could just taunt the heroes into coming over to him? End this all in one shot but that would not help with his growth.

"Where to next?" Jensen put on a radio.

"Director Myung. Lich hero is down. I want to look for a new target. Mind getting me a port? Did you have a fleet of war ships deployed anywhere?"

"There's the Port of Ymir. We sent one of our largest fleet there but it was destroyed by the Aqua Hero."

"I'll go handle it. How far is it from where I am?"

"I'll send you the coordinates." Director Myung hung up as Jensen got up, it was time for the next part. Since he had the exact coordinates, he could just teleport there. It's a whole lot faster than running at least. A cemetery of ships, Jensen was standing by the starboard bow of a destroyed aircraft carrier, left to rust and who knows how old it was. Just standing there, the Keeper remembered their anguish. Their joys of departure and their duty to their nations. Yet, here they were. Left to rot with their skeletons by the bottom of the sea.

The tides of the ocean were kind but as cruel as it implied, the ones who perished will have their tales to remain here in the seas. Jensen would remember them at least. Even if the destruction had taken them, they refused to fall. They kept on fighting, pulling grenades in their vests when a wyvern swallowed them whole. Refusing to die. Refusing to falter. Humans against all odds would run, but they refused. Fear would take over but their duty came first. Even if they were to die, they will die on their feet and not on their knees. Choosing suicide over surrender.

They reminded Jensen of many things, many things he had kept in his own heart from all the insanity of the thousand deaths he had. There were a few of the soldiers who were alive. Their bodies were at least but their minds? Jensen could see everything in their minds, they were plagued by a nightmare that they cannot awaken from. Not even his powers could save them but what he could do for them was to grant them a merciful death. Severing the ties of the soul and the physical body.

"I hate mercy killing." Jensen said as he looked at a sea serpent that raised its head to screech into his ears. Digging his ears as he gazed at the serpent, trying to figure out if he had heard the screech or was it just a child screaming in his ears. Jensen took a deep breath and roared back at the sea serpent.

"FUCK OFF!" It caused the sea serpent to dive back into the oceans, slithering away from Jensen's location. Then seeing wyverns, sea serpents and dragons of water making their way to him.

"So much for a silent infiltration." Jensen grabbed his scythes, a grimace towards the beasts.

"Come on!" Jensen leaped to charge at them, slicing a sea serpent in two. The blood splashed over his white clothes where Jensen began to laugh. It threw the dragons off for a moment, their instincts were making them feel the uncertainty. The blood turned the ocean red and Jensen was the culprit. Virgo, Aries and Leo were merely watching all of this unfold with Umbra picking up the pieces of dragon meat.

"Well... Sea Serpents do taste like extremely tender eels... Let's grab some." Virgo was the first to leap down, standing on water as he used his wires like a net to catch the creatures being cut down. A butcher enjoying his work, preparing ingredients to satisfy his human hunger but the acts of slaughtering? That satisfied the craving of the Keeper. His attacks were not going for the killing blows, but more to maim his enemies. Skinning them alive in combat, slicing off their body parts rather than just quick dismemberments.

Clipping the wings of a dragon, then claiming its head as he kicked the body to Virgo's net.

"Now how do they say it? The thing about work?" Virgo turned to the other two Zodiacs who groaned.

"It ain't much but it's honest work." Leo and Aries spoke in unison as they watched Virgo's net get heavier and the ocean they stood on was already being completely red. Attracting the megaladons in the waters to Jensen.

"Oh ho. Megaladons?! Now this is rich!" The megaladon opened its gaping mouth to swallow Jensen whole. Closing its mouth as it swallowed Jensen as the blood in the ocean grew thicker. The megaladons that appeared were caught by Leo and Aries with spears to pull them back up, throwing them into VIrgo's net.

"That should be enough of that." Virgo closed the net that went into his gloves. Jensen floated from below, not even a sign of his clothes being wet from the ocean was seen. Instead, all the blood stains were gone. Now they made their way into the port, seeing the heroes and the people that have chosen to serve them.

The greeting was simple, Jensen leaped into battle as he swung his scythe through the first human. A scream garnered their attention, Jensen combined the two scythes together. Increasing its blade size and its length.

"Kill him!" The Heroes charged at Jensen altogether. Relying on numbers instead of powers or actual technique. Strength wise, Jensen felt the hit. Some of them had an innate ability to negate his phantom shield. Sent flying to a wall, Jensen flipped as he crouched. Springing off the wall with the scythe in hand, laughing as he slashed the group of Heroes into the air.

Putting the scythe away as Jensen pulled his gloves. Pulling out a dao sword.

"A flimsy sword like that against my broad sword!?" The broadsword struck the tip of the dao, where it shattered instantly. Jensen pulled the blade to his chest, taking a closer look.

'For my brother, Jensen Glenn. May Reckoning Dawn serve you well.' It was engraved in the eastern letters. Of ancient tongues that few could read, and Jensen knew this because of Ye Qiu teaching him.

"Sheesh Ye Qiu. I know you gave me a blade for me to use when I'm ready. Isn't this overkill? This is the War's sharpness." Jensen said as he swung the blade to the ocean on the right. Seeing it part for a thousand kilometers. He could even see the ocean floor with it.

"Reckoning Dawn. You're named after the dawn that comes after destruction... I'm sure you can hear me."

"Of course I can!" A girly voice reached Jensen's ear as he let go of the blade, where a lady stood in front of him. Wearing a long tunic, she held the blade while her hair was styled in a bun with a chopstick.

"Go have fun."

"Thank you." She said as she unleashed a single swing, where the large port warehouses was cut in half. The top sections flying into the air, following it up with a few swings. Where the metal sections were cut down to form sharp spears to impale the servants. The heroes were able to dodge it but Jensen made sure they couldn't. Using the same wires like Virgo, restraining their bodies to an extent. Pulling them in for the spears to rain down on them. Striking their limbs.

"Hey Aqua Hero! Come out already? I'm pretty bored." Jensen's taunt reached her as he narrowly dodged a water blade. It grazed his cheek though. Touching his cheek to see the blood oozing out, where Jensen clicked his tongue then a face palm.

"I hope that doesn't leave a scar. I can't have my siblings worried about me if it does."

"Oh don't worry. That won't be all! I'll be sure to kill you!" The voice echoed as more of the water blades came flying over to him.

"Huh. Water blades. Not a lot of people can control them. That's some decent control but... It's a bit sad." Jensen said as the water blades went directly at him. He took the blows to the body but he stopped any from hitting his head and hands with the scythe.

"Wh.. Why aren't you dead?!"

"Oh this? Well. You did pierce my clothes but not my body. Sheesh, when I see Ye Qiu it looks like I owe him a lot of drinks." Jensen said as a snap of his fingers with the water blades vanishing.

"Your control isn't as great as my other allies. You're lacking." Jensen said as he pulled out a stick of bubble gum to chew.

"Bubble gum gets your blood working. If I'm facing someone like you, I need to make sure I don't lose my intelligence."

"You! You dare insult me!?" The voice began to unleash blades of water, now wielded by swordsmen. Now there was a challenge, Jensen wasn't going to avoid it. The idea behind his madness? Trying to push for the Aqua Hero to overwork her mana. It might take some time but this would buy Jensen enough time to pin point where she is. The thing when fighting those with a water affinity or blessed by water?

It generally means they can be hiding elsewhere and he needed to figure their location. This kind of water blade control requires the person to be stationary, to embody water in a complete form. Given enough time, they can handle it while fighting and moving but not many can achieve that. For now, just need to buy some time but what Jensen said about the intelligence part was true.

Jensen grabbed another hero who had his blade pierced into his head, now mumbling his thoughts away. It slowly became incomprehensible. Yep, she's got one of those water blades. The kind that could steal or mess with a person's senses if struck. The stroke of luck was because of Ye Qiu's techniques, a body tempering technique that can be used to match the sharpness of the user's body with a current weapon.

Her sharpness is at Phantasm but not enough for it to reach Jensen's blades. A Keeper's blade sharpness is unique in its own right. He can hold out for a while longer, just chewing the gum but keeping his head clear from any of the attacks. This was due to a failure of Jensen being lazy at the time of learning this technique, so he can't cover his entire body. Leaving his head exposed. Even using mana as a shield, it will be annoying because Jensen would need to remember to reinforce the magic again and again.

A good taunt will always throw enemies off, and since most of them were irritable in the first place? It was the perfect combination for Jensen to keep the trouble up against them. Irritating beings that have been used to be at the top was a classic tactic. The angrier a person, the more reckless they fight.

Jensen could see how the blades were slowly missing their mark, he was trying to avoid them this time.

"Stay still!" The voice of the Aqua Hero reached him, but the voices were bouncing around from the swords itself. Grabbing the scythe, separating it in two as he used it as a defensive tool. Letting go as it kept spinning around him, Jensen was trying to narrow down the Aqua Hero with his mana but even then. It wasn't enough as the water blades kept increasing.

"I guess my senses aren't as sharp as before. I can barely tell where she is." Jensen thought out loud, trying to wait for the Aqua Hero's mana to fluctuate. Even with his current senses, it seemed as if she had mastered it. This was going to be tricky but Jensen had a plan. It may be a stupid one but it may draw her out.

Leaping to the ocean, standing on the waters. Jensen took a deep breath, closing his eyes as he tapped the water with the right heel. The ripples created something for Jensen to use. Infusing his mana into the waters, feeling a fluctuation from his right. Jensen drew out a dagger to stop an attack from that direction. Seeing the Aqua Hero before him.

"How?!" The flushed expression of anger was seen. Jensen grabbed her neck, then stabbing her chest. He felt an attack coming from above, Jensen kicked the Aqua Hero away. Looking up to a hero glaring at him, wearing a tight outfit resembling a superhero. Yes, with a cape. Yes, with a mask. Yes, with the tightness of the abs being seen. Even the colours of red, white and blue. To put it into words, it was as if the superhero suit was fitted to a tee to this hero.

"I Captain Justice must dispense Justice!" A head on charge where the clash created a large shockwave through the ground. Enough to cause the ocean that he was standing on to rise above the ground. Pushed back to the ocean floor, a smirk on Jensen's face as he locked eyes with Captain Justice.

"Ah! You can withstand a blow! Take this you evildoer!" Clasping her hands together to strike Jensen from above. Bracing the impact with a great sword as the empty ocean floor once more. Infusing mana to his veins, pushing Captain Justice back. Leaping out before the water returned, the pressure might cause internal damage if it returns.

Leaping outwards, Jensen found Aqua Hero safe in the arms of Captain Justice. The other 3 heroes continued glaring at him, one that was fully machine that was filled to the brim with weapons. Another sitting on a throne of light and the third. A normal human who wore a three piece suit.

"Pleasure to make your acquaintance. The rebel of the inferior." The hero by the throne spoke, his voice was enough to cause the ocean's glimmer from the sun turn hostile. Unleashing javelins of holy light magic to smite Jensen, placing the great sword to his side to let it take most of the attacks.

"You won't survive this. It is our duty to ensure that the inferior stay in their place." The third hero spoke to Jensen with a twisted smile. Readying dark spheres to chase Jensen in a head on confrontation. Jensen cut through them with a saber but they left a cloud of black smoke that kept them hidden from his vision. A single swing to clear it, Jensen could no longer see or sense them. It seems as if they decided to back off. Perhaps to keep the Aqua Hero alive.

Jensen clicked his tongue, looks like not all of them were weak. Some of them had enough strength to push Jensen back for a moment. Careless and recklessness on his end but at the very least. It proved a theory that he had lingering in the back of his mind.

They were trying to reshape the world by force and they could be hurt. Jensen's right arm gave way, dropping the saber. His right forearm had been crushed from that fierce attack alone. Clicking his tongue again as he used his left hand to wrap the bubble gum he was chewing through the entire fight.

"Are you alright, Keeper?" Umbra showed concern to Jensen's right arm. Ripping off cloth from a dead corpse, using magic to wrap it over his arm.

"I'm fine Umbra. Just my constitution is weak. If it wasn't for Ye Qiu's body tempering technique. I may have suffered worse. Damn. Guess I was just this weak when I started as a Keeper." Jensen bellowed while his left hand pulled out a pistol, making his way to the soldiers who were trapped in their nightmares. Putting the slide close to his mouth as he bit it, jerking his arm to put the pistol into battery. Some of his teeth chipped off but that would be nothing compared to these soldiers.

"Rest well. Soldiers who of humanity... No, heroes of humanity." Jensen said as he pulled the trigger. A merciful massacre, he made sure it was painless. A moment of silence as Jensen leaned to a wall, letting his body slide down to the floor.

"Fuck." Jensen cursed as he pulled out a cigarette, lighting it up. Coughing violently, spitting out blood to the side.

"Can't even fucking smoke right. Damn, I am a god damn wimp." Jensen cursed, shaking his head at the thought of what had transpired.

"It's up to you if you want to serve the Legion or not. If you want to put a wrench in the plans of those fucking sons of bitches. This will be your last chance. I'll give you as much blood as you want. I'll make sure you get to slaughter those fucking heroes to your heart's content!" A cry from Jensen, hearing the sounds of warships making noise from the outside.

"Good. I'll carry you to the battlefields that you'll be needed." The final words as Jensen got back on his feet, stepping out to see a great fleet that had missile ships, frigates, aircraft carriers, battle ships and recon ships. This will be the start of Jensen's legion, seeing the proud naval officers in dark blue but their bodies were made of black flames.

A start at least, it may be a while but he will be kill the Heroes and then? He will need to head to Ye Qiu's world to get his partner in crime back. The Avatar of War. Though, Jensen will need to strengthen his body in every single part. From his nerves to his skin, muscles and bones. His previous body could take those blows with ease and not being pushed back into a corner like this. Not even killing the Aqua Hero was a disgrace but Jensen grinned at the idea of another confrontation but by then. He will be prepared.
