Chapter 61 : The Fight in his home.

The other Venerators came to join Joshua, seeing him lead the soldiers.

"Identify yourself!" Joshua showed his ID, SS rank.

"Oh, then who are they?"

"My familiars... Orlen, Guren, Reznok." The three leaders appeared by Joshua's side, kneeling to their master.

"Orlen, Reznok. I need you to act to help the civilians. Guren, break their formation."

"By your command!" They said as Orlen's Arakhai took up the skies, firing their rifles upon the nimble Dark Elves. The first shots missed but the follow up struck the Dark Elves in the chest, blowing them up from within. Guren's Bellesk went to take on the larger than life trolls and golems. Howling to strike at them. The first strike as a golem's rock body was broken within seconds. Lugasa stood beside Guren where they both unleashed a howl that stopped the orcs, dark elves and oncoming enemies in their tracks.

Reznok's Ylrin used their bows, the arrows pierced into an orc's arm. Only for it to blow off, followed up by a slash by another Ylrin who was lurking below. The One Eyed Emperor, Tyrant Trickster and Thunder Prince readied appeared by Joshua's side.

"Lord... There are outsiders. Present." Joshua watched as the outsiders appeared, they were clad in black armor and wielded blades.

"So this is humanity of another world? It would be good for the might of the Linst Empire to acquire this place." There was a large portal behind them that brought forth orcs, soldiers armed with blades. Knights of old in the current times.

"Do you think Ronin's attack can strike the other dimension?"

"I believe so, Lord." Joshua looked at the portals that appeared above them, ships were now coming to invade them.

"People of Earth. I am Emperor Alara Heresa the Third. You will submit to us or die." Joshua then looked at his bank account from his phone. He had about 30 million in his account due to all the work he has done and bonuses by the Venerator Union.

Joshua took the scroll and watch it burn away as cherry blossoms began to appear around him. Followed by a dog coming over to nuzzle Joshua's hand and a falcon perched by his shoulder. Joshua turned to see the large figure before him. A towering being that was taller even the Suicide Division's Goliaths. A figure who exhumed power in his footsteps, a wakizashi blade to his left hip and a pair of daggers. Wearing a white kimono and geta sandals, the figure had worn a damaged crimson mask. One worn by Samurai in the fields of battle.

"Would 30 million be enough for you?" Ronin stepped closer, nodding to Joshua as an odachi appeared from the ground. Flying above as Ronin put one hand forward in a prayer, his left hand catching the blade. Then readying his stance.

"What is the target to be slain?"

"The entire ships, the soldiers and the Linst Empire." Joshua said where Ronin nodded.

"It will be done." Ronin spoke in an eerie voice, the other Venerators fell to their knees just by the pressure alone. Drawing the blade as Ronin took a step forward and then sheathing it. Joshua watched how when the blade was sheathed, the ships were reduced to nothing, it was as if they had never existed and emperor Alara HEresa was sliced in half in front of the denizens of Earth. The soldiers had been killed, they fell to the ground with a single thud. Sounding like a stomp of a great beast, as Ronin looked at Joshua.

"It is done." Ronin spoke as the dog and falcon returned by his side.

"Call me when you need me. My other weapons are based on my pay." Ronin said as he vanished, where the scroll that burned away reappeared as a pendant for Joshua to wear. It was a samurai mask, one that symbolized his contract with Ronin. 30 million for that much destruction? That was pretty overkill and pretty cheap if Joshua thought about it. Though he will need to do a lot of work to get back the money.

"Thanks, Ronin." Joshua said as what was left were the enemies that were common in the Spires.

"Lord of Thorns." Joshua turned to see Chairwoman Lee.

"I take it those are the outsiders? Quite the powerhouse you brought in. It has only been 6 months since you were gone." Chairwoman Lee said as she shouldered her long sword.

"The Lord was busy recruiting others to the cause." Joshua heard a voice from above, seeing Bayran landing in front of him.

"Bayran!" Joshua went over to hug the Ancient of Winter in his dragon form. Where the dragon chuckled.

"Haha. Did you miss us, Lord?" Asim, Barakas and Cinder came to greet him. Where Joshua hugged them all tightly, even lifting them up from the ground in a bear hug.

"Ah, I actually feel my back breaking!" Joshua let go, seeing Bayran tap Asim's back a couple of times.

"Sorry."

"Don't be. It's nice to be hugged. Hugs are nice!" Barakas said as she hugged him again.

"Well, Lord of Thorns. We've got more spires, but this time. According to the Ancients... You can have your Familiars go in your place to combat."

"Then I can just take a break."

"Of course, the Lord of Thorns needs his rest. You can choose which Familiars will go into combat." Bayran said, then Joshua turned to his familiars that returned by his side.

"Your orders?"

"Go and explore for a bit. I'll be sure to give you some jobs." Joshua said, taking a look at a Ylrin warrior holding a child's hand, then it communicated to Reznok in their own language of chirps and singing.

"My tribesman found the child, perhaps we can bring the child to her parents."

"Lindsey!" The mother ran as the Ylrin warrior let go of the child's hand, watching them hug and be reunited.

"Thank you! Thank you!" The mother said, looking at the Ylrin warrior who bowed to her, and stood in line back with the other tribesmen. Followed by Xander 311 carrying a woman in his arms, where the Venerators used magic to help her wounds and bring her to a stretcher.

"We still got civilians trapped in the rubble, Lord."

"Are you all up for a search and rescue?"

"Yes, Lord." They all scattered, where Joshua watched Prophecy carrying people in his hands. Flying slowly above the buildings, then turning to Joshua.

"Where do we put them?"

"Right here. I'll call the medics!" Chairwoman Lee signaled for the paramedics and Venerators to her side, where Prophecy gently put the people down. A machine that was careful of its strength, and did not want any more harm to go towards them.

"We'll take it from here. If you guys can bring more of the people we need to rescue. Thanks big guy!" Prophecy nodded to the medics as they continued with their rescue work.

"Oh take this. This is going to be your HQ. You'll need a big spot to keep them all there. It's a bit far from the city, but I'm sure we can arrange transports for your Familiars to use." Joshua grabbed the keys from Chairwoman Lee as he went back first. Vanishing from sight while his familiars were busy with their rescue work. The place that he got? It looked like an actual base instead of a house.

"A military base? It's got four watch towers for snipers? A few barracks... A training ground? How many acres is this place? It's huge!" Joshua's thoughts leaked out from his mouth, there was a lot that could be done here. He went inside the main building where the sign for his guild was there. 'Midnight Wind' was on it.

There was a board where requests for help would be up, where Joshua could see requests from the various Guilds. From Resource Worker Guilds, to Recon jobs, and other details. He could see the board with their details, it seems his Familiars being able to operate at his location would be good. A Ranked Spires have a few jobs for him to send a few members of his Familiars. With the number of Familiars he has, Joshua could use them for multiple jobs. Special Jobs have been posted where Venerators put requests for larger units and taking down larger targets.

This was something interesting for Joshua to consider. The Lions of Priderock and combining them with the Suicide Division Goliaths would be a good combo. Combining Lugasa, Guren with the Crimson Reavers would provide good synergy for missions where waves are concerned.

This will be helpful and Joshua needed the money to prepare in case of missions with Ronin. Having that much power for the price of money was a good thing, but earning Ronin's loyalty would be better. Footsteps marched through the door, where Joshua could see the Orion Skellers, the Suicide Division, Ylrin, Bellesk and Arakhai Legion show themselves before him.

"Lord of Thorns. We're ready for new jobs."

"Got it. Let's discuss our next job plans."
