V2 Chapter 19.7: The Three Roses.

Terra, Weiss and Vizel were on horseback, riding into the next town. The town was heavy with fighting, the guards and soldiers stationed there had not given up yet. Demon knights, demon swordsmen, skeletal swordsmen, orcs, ogres, hobgoblins, lamias and lizardmen were fighting to the best of their abilities. Being pushed back but they were about to get help.

"Let's change the tide shall we?" Terra said as he led them into the fray. Leaping into the air, throwing dozens of knives at once. Piercing the limbs of the Jade Principality's soldiers, landing on the top of a commanding officer's shoulders. Wrapping his legs to the neck, snapping it as he sent the officer flying into the air.

"I am Terra Eisenhower, butler of House Sylvanus! House Sylvanus has granted aid to the Hertia Lich Kingdom as requested by Her Highness Lucia Hertia! Soldiers of Hertia! Allies will be on their way! Hold the line!" Terra announced as Vizel and Weiss cut through the soldiers of the Jade Principality.

"Humans?! Why are you helping them!?" A Jade Principality officer questioned as Vizel and Weiss stood beside Terra who fixed his gloves. Drawing out a pair of daggers, sending the officer's head flying. Weiss threw a rose upwards where Vizel slashed through it. Dashing into the middle of their formation as the petals touched into the body of the soldiers.

A snap of Weiss and Vizel's fingers, as a barrier of ice formed in front of Hertia's soldiers. Some of them encased in the ice that Weiss and Vizel had

"Weiss, Vizel. Why don't you greet our weary travelers." Weiss and Vizel leaped into the air, longsword and odachi to strike down the enemy. Vizel roared as the guns were paying attention to him. Weiss took the chance to strike down the officers who had been focused on Vizel who was tempting them to attack him first. Tank fire, holy magic lances. Whatever the Jade Principality had they would throw it at him. The dragon knights readied themselves to attack Vizel. Vizel was overwhelming them with strength and the Azterian Glare was haunting them. Their guns failed to chamber their bullets. Their magic chanting got cancelled out, while Weiss slashed the group behind.

"There's two of them! Try and shoot the other one!" the rifles appeared from Vizel's cape. Firing guns back into the Jade Principality's soldiers, where Weiss continued to slash the many soldiers. Their movements were slowed down.

"What?!! What's oging on!? Captain?" They see the captain standing still, his wounds had azure rose petals sticking out from the wounds. Vizel's one heavy swing cut through hundreds of them with a single swing. Weiss leaped into the air, forming a mist above the ground.

Vizel covered himself with the cape as Weiss punched his fist. Large boulders of ice hailed from the mist above. Crushing the Jade Principality's formation as the crusaders and paladins used their magic to form barriers. Protecting them as they charged at Vizel who was standing still. Their blade intercepted Weiss who raised his left palm in their direction. Seeing the runes and magic circles form over it. Vizel placed his hand over Weiss's shoulder.

Their foes raised their shields and barrier as the dragons dived from above.

"Now you'll die!" Vizel swung the Redemption Kai upwards, while Weiss unleashed a powerful wind that froze the entirety of the soldiers in front of him. When it was done, Weiss's arm recoiled due to the intensity of the mana that had been unleashed. The dragon knights that were still in a daze due to crashing into the ground were trying to stand up on their feet. Only for them to see Vizel strangle one of their own kin with one arm. Watching the life fade away of the dragon knight.

"Sp...Spare me!" The entire windpipe was crushed as Vizel let go off dragon knight. Letting his eyes glow with blue streaks that followed his eye's very movements.

"You're... You're all monsters! You're not human!" A Jade Principality soldier said, only to see Vizel grab the commanding officer's head. Squirming as she shot his helmet repeatedly. Removing her spine and walked over to the soldiers who were already falling to the fear. The haunting Azteris Glare as Vizel howled at them that stopped them dead.

"You heretics will pay for your defiance to the Goddess of Lemora!" The Dominion. A six winged angel announced with a proud smile, but ended up being silent as a result of the blade piercing the neck. Terra separated the head and the torso, leaping back down. Wiping the blood off his daggers.

"Ah.. It seems I may add a dominion to my list of kills. I thought you'd be a lot more challenging. Perhaps I was wrong." Terra said as he vanished from their senses.

"Impossible?! A mere human was able to hide from our senses?! What is this?!" One by one the wings of the angels were clipped away. Vizel and Weiss sheathed their weapons as they awaited for the chaos. This time it was Terra's turn to battle. The Silent Reaper was true to his name, tearing through the angels that were present.

Clipped wings, the movements of a graceful dancer. Slashing their limbs as the angels panicked.

"How?! How can mere humans do this!? We're angels! We have divine protection!" An angel shouted, only to be decapitated, their heads were rolling to the right. They were still conscious, feeling the pain as time slowed down for them. A cruel attack by Terra.

"What a waste of time. I had truly believed they would be dangerous. Perhaps that the Jade Principality and its allies have thought that Hertia would be easy to be destroyed?" The barrier of ice vanished, where Vizel and Weiss walked over to look at the injured residents. Demons, but Vizel focused on granting them security. Walking past the residents of the town while keeping his gaze lowered. Not wanting to scare them any further as Vizel went out the gate.

Weiss was gentle, with Bayran's magic he was able to help ease the wounds of the residents. Reducing swelling and to heal them with water magic. Terra was checking on the logistics, helping the soldiers reform their ranks. The people here were spared from a massacre like what Black Waltz had reported. A demon child bumped into Weiss's leg.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"I'm sorry!"

"No, it's fine. Oh you have a cut to your hand. Let me heal you." They see the body of water land to the child's hand, it did not hurt the child in any way. Gentle and kind, where the wound closed itself.

"It's healed! Thank you mister!" Weiss walked away as the child's parent pulled them away from Weiss who walked on ahead, catching up to Vizel who was standing guard by the edge of the town.

The Rose of Guilty and the Rose of Calmness. A pair that had told different tales with different abilities. Yet, they complimented each other so well. Weiss was preparing his other set of magic. Vizel gave Weiss the white roses that Weiss filled up with magic as the roses blossomed with the elements that had been given to them.

"Is it difficult to look at demons?"

"The hatred I have for demons in my world is something I cannot simply forgive or let go. They toyed with our bodies, ate us like toys." Vizel said as Weiss placed the roses to coat pocket, then passing a few to Vizel.

"Thanks. So how do I use this?"

"It's been filled with an element. Just throw it. I'll make more roses from the corpses." Vizel put a few roses to his breast pocket.

"I try not to see them the same way as the demons in my world, but it is not as easy as I had hoped." Vizel spoke with a bit of disdain lurking from his voice. The past guilt of not being able to protect his people was looming and that was something he had to deal with. The weakness he felt was surfacing but such guilt was mere fuel to the fire that was Vizel.

Yet the Rose of Calmness, Weiss didn't harbor any anger or any sort of resentment. Despite hearing what they had done to people, Weiss didn't feel any sort of hatred. Merely pity because of the fact they were facing the Lord of Thorns. The things the Lord of Thorns has seen and the things that the Lord has put down with his hands. Even a God may not seem to be a threat at this point.

The stillness in Weiss's face and the grip of his hands clung onto the fundamentals of training he had received from the Sylvanus Knights. Though seeing Terra fight on the front lines and in action? The Silent Reaper's name was true, because in his prime. He clipped the wings of angels like they were nothing.

Another wave of threats was beginning its approach to their direction, but would it be enough? Vizel was raring to go as he went straight into the fray with the blade. Charging ahead as all of the enemies intentions were on him. Weiss threw the roses at the direction, where he used wind magic to specify them to the locations to form patterns on the ground.

The crusaders and paladins engaged Vizel with sword techniques, as the angels and dragon knights dived in to provide support. Seeing rifles appear out of Vizel's cape. The rifles fired away, then swinging their bayonets to push the enemies back. Vizel swung his blade upwards, taking down 20 dragon knights and 20 angels with a single slash.

"Vizel. Be sure to cover yourself with the cape because I'm about to unleash a number of elements."

"Got it!" Vizel covered himself with the cape and a shield digitized by his side. Bracing for impact as the intense mana to overflow on the ground. Forming a star pattern, as the elements surged together. Tremors began to hit the ground, throwing the accuracy from all sides. Vizel kept the cape on and shield to cover his gap.

The ground started to become smooth as ice formed over it. Causing the crusaders and paladins to slip with a moment's notice. Tumbling the invaders, as they lost their footing with even the slightest movement. The wind pushed them all to the center, bunching them up as Vizel watched how the red rose coated his blade in flames.

The scarlet flames reached his wrists, empowering him with more power as Vizel grabbed his sheathe, sheathing the blade as he readied his stance. Weiss was throwing more red roses at Vizel's direction, further increasing his power. A deep breath as Vizel drew the blade. Slashing hundreds of crusaders and paladins before him. Turning them to ash, as Weiss brought out the long sword to join in the fray.

Vizel's roar brought the soldiers back. Tempting Violence and Tempting Calm were working in unison, Weiss was able to move past the groups, leaving roses with elements imbued into them. The ones who would catch sight of Weiss, would forget him as they heard Vizel's roar.

Vizel had their attention while Weiss was beginning to set up more roses throughout the battlefield. Vizel was cutting through waves of attacks, the capes unveiled the rifles that fired at the attackers. Bayonets that pierced through the targets while Vizel slashed on. His breast plate stained with scarlet as a paladin struck a blow to Vizel's head. Vizel merely roared back as he headbutted the paladin flying into the air.

"The 10th Tier, Heavenly Judgement!" Vizel steadied himself as a ray of light struck him down. Cracking the ground as the crusaders and paladins moved away, while the war priests continued with their chant. Rays of light that began to shape into a hammer struck Vizel from above. Vizel tanked the blows, his armor was being scratched and minute cracks began to appear over it.

"Is that all you have?!" Vizel roared once more, to the ones who were present. A great beast was before them, one that would not falter despite the damage or wounds.

"The 10th Tier judgement should have destroyed him!? What is he?!" Vizel pulled out the magnum pistol with his left hand. Firing off shots that left holes in the chests of the war priests.

"Vizel, now!" Vizel leaped to the back as Weiss snapped his fingers, activating the formation of roses that had been made. Unleashing petals of varying elements. Making contact with the invaders. Each petal brought forth its ruin. Red for a passionate fire that would not die out. Blue for an ice that will never melt. Yellow for the ground's desire to swallow it whole. Black for a never ending darkness to eat them. A white rose that would engulf them in a bright light that would let them rest. A green rose for a wind that wishes to unleash its chained rage.

The elements began to run rampant, combining with a flame that awaited for the winds to strip the body of flesh and armor. Letting the flame burn them, allowing their agony to be heard by all. The deviousness of the elements had been unleashed. The promise of light from the white rose was scorching their eyes. Blinding them and causing them to lose their senses as the darkness entwined over their limbs. Piercing their heart as they were turned into more petals of elements. Leaving the skeleton behind.

Weiss then leaped into battle, swinging his long sword to cut through them. The petals became his shield as Weiss gathered the petals behind him, forming into a large tide of petals. A whistle was enough as the tide of petals crashed down to the ground. Infecting the ground with its myriad of properties. The tide of petals took drowned the entire army before them.

The Rose Knight of Calmness headed to check on his counterpart, the Rose Knight of Guilty. Helping Vizel to his feet.

"I'm still no good with mana."

"I doubt I can take those blows head on, but you gave me enough time to create the attacks I need to destroy them." Vizel nodded.

"I guess this is why we've been paired. We balance each other out. You have better control over mana than I do. But at least. We've managed to hold them off for now but more of it will be on the way. Some breathing room for us. My armor will repair itself in a few minutes."

"I'll need to stock up on roses. It'll take some time before I can manifest them all into the elements. I used up all of my reserves but even then. It'll buy us time because the effect will stay for another 10 hours. I doubt they can dispel or march through it." Weiss said as they both headed back to the gates ,seeing Terra who pushed carts of mana potions inside.

"Use these. I will report to the Lord of our current situation."
