Waking up the next day where Jensen was greeted by the workers of the Patriarch's house as young master. Leaving the house where he took out the keys to his sports bike, turning the ignition as Jensen put on his helmet. Now to get going, Jensen rode all the way to the university. So this is must be how Silas went to university the other day.
Either way, Jensen reached the parking. Seeing ladies just smiling at his presence, where Ye Qiu was smoking a cigarette outside the gates. Walking over to his friend where Ye Qiu had a cigarette ready.
"So first day. I meet you we share a cigarette cause we're best friends. Nobody aside from the Yang family knows that I'm Patriarch Yang's Grandson. Who are we expecting right now?"
"Liu Lan to show up with Tan Yuan." The two of them continued smoking as they see Liu Lan, a brunette with a svelte figure made her appearance with Tan Yuan the rich playboy of campus. People were snickering at Jensen and Ye Qiu, but that was normal. Liu Lan glared at Ye Qiu who was enjoying his cigarette.
"Ignore her?"
"Yeah. I always do. Not that I give a damn. She's just cheating on me right in front of my face." They doused their cigarettes, then heading inside. The two of them were part of the business class. A lecture where the two of them were literally pretending to pay attention while having a rock paper scissors duel beneath the table. Ye Qiu won 10 out of the 11 times. After class, the two of them walked out to head to the cafeteria.
Lining up with metal trays to pick out their meals. Stir fried broccoli with beef, sweet sour pork, black pepper chicken, spiced mutton. Some other greens like stir fried veggies in garlic or in oyster sauce. Fragrant white rice or fried rice were the choices for carbs. Jensen took one of everything while Ye Qiu was conservative.
"Come on, Ye Qiu. You eat way more than that. I'll cover for ya."
"Thanks Jensen." Paid for the meal and when they were taking their seats. The cliche of being the unpopular kids was already kicking in. The students had occupied the seats, leaving the pair alone.
"Childish as ever." Ye Qiu remarked as they both went to take their seat by the floor. Photos being snapped, the students of the university acted more like a high school.
"Don't worry about it. We can deal with it later."
"I wasn't worried, Ye Qiu. Just curious. Do you still have most of your gear?"
"Nope. Looks like I lose it with every regression. So I'll need to earn it all back. My strength and magic is still the same."
"Great to hear that." The two of them continued to eat in silence while hearing the words 'Trash' being utterly repeated loudly. Finishing up, the duo put their food aside as they went on with the next class. So far the lecture's were mainly a waste of time. Biding time until classes were over. The two headed outside to have another cigarette together.
"Ah, man if I didn't have class. I'd be smoking cigarettes after every meal."
"Yeah and you smoke like a chimney." Jensen said as he lit up Ye Qiu's cigarette.
"Polite as usual. So how did you like Reckoning Dawn?"
"You made one crazy blade. It split an ocean when I used it." Ye Qiu chuckled.
"It's not funny, Ye Qiu. It makes me think twice before using it all wildly." Jensen said as the both tap the cigarettes to ash the burnt parts off. Exhaling the smoke in their lungs.
"What's next on the agenda?"
"Liu Lan and Tan Yuan will be inviting us to a casino. Then someone makes a mess. Tan Yuan begs for mercy and then we get into trouble." True enough the scene would play out. Tan Yuan mocking Ye Qiu and inviting everyone Ye Qiu and Jensen to a luxurious casino known for its risk and reward. Ye Qiu and Jensen followed the script. True enough the casino was full of people.
People were chanting at their big wins while the losers who lose must sign contracts of debts to be paid back with an interest that could reach up to millions. A never-ending cost of servitude for them. Whereby Ye Qiu and Jensen both agreed that their luck with gambling is not only garbage, but they prefer duels with rewards on the line. It makes more sense to rely on skill rather than luck alone.
"Hah, Ye Qiu and Jensen don't dare to play? Why are you guys broke? I can lend you some money." Tan Yuan sneered his thoughts out loud while Jensen and Ye Qiu weren't bothered by it.
"Nah. We just don't want to."
"Why not? You can earn quite a bit of funds for yourself. Besides Ye Qiu, money makes the world go round." Liu Lan was adding fuel to the fire, where Ye Qiu and Jensen ignored them. The next part was that they'd be losing a lot of money and having a big debt of 2 million over each of their heads.
"Stick to the script?"
"Nah. Let's just go." Jensen and Ye Qiu slipped away from the chaos, not being able to pay off gangsters is a big thing and it'll be up to the parents to deal with it. Stepping outside with cigars in hand as they lit it up. Watching the luxurious cars that could buy a house or two houses appear before their eyes. The frantic expression on the parents was easy to be seen.
"So what's the whole deal with Liu Lan anyway?"
"Parents wanted to marry her off with mine. Because you know, Lin Family's inheritance is huge. People like throwing their money around these parts."
"Hey, if I had billions of dollars in my name. I'd throw it around too." Ye Qiu coughed, perhaps because of how Jensen said it. Only to be interrupted by a phone call.
"Hello, Master Ye Qiu? This is Lim Qi Hao. The Chairman wants to meet you."
"I've got a friend who will be coming over. Is that okay? Jensen Yang."
"Ah, the young master of the Yang family? Of course. If he's your guest. It will be fine. Do you need a car?"
"No need. We'll be there in a few minutes." Ye Qiu hung up as he looked at Jensen.
"Race ya there." Ye Qiu leaped on ahead, while Jensen chuckled. Shaking his head, perhaps the saying 'Old Habits' die hard is true. Jensen chased Ye Qiu around the rooftops, both of them wore masks to cover their faces. Arriving at the Chairman of the Lim Family's estate, a villa that had security guards by the outside.
"Wait, who are you!?" The guards asked, where Jensen and Ye Qiu lowered their masks.
"Ah, Master Ye Qiu! Please step inside." The two of them headed in where Patriarch Lim was with his granddaughter and Lim Qi Hao, the current manager of Lim family's finances. A business man in a suit while Patriarch Lim wore a more traditional clothing with black pants. The living room was lavishly furnished with various items that had radiated with positive mana that was good for the mind, body and soul.
"Greetings Master Ye Qiu."
"You can stop calling me master now, Patriarch. I feel a little off hearing it."
"I apologize, but you have saved my life and my son's life. Is there anything.." Ye Qiu stopped the Patriarch from speaking. Jensen glanced to Ye Qiu where they both felt it. Something sinister was looming around the area.
"You feel that?"
"Yep. Dark mana. This might get ugly. Get your security staff in here!" Lim Qi Hao did as instructed, shouting for the security staff to stay close to them.
"What's going on, master?" Patriarch Lim asked, obviously they were confused but the answers have shown themselves. Jiangshi, undead vampires that would attack people indiscriminately. Absorbing their life force to keep themselves sustained.
Jensen put on his pair of gloves, pulling out a spear for Ye Qiu.
"50 of them. Too many for a simple occurrence. There has to be someone controlling them." Jensen said as he drew out a long sword, then erecting a barrier to protect the Patriarch's family and staff.
"Master Ye Qiu! It's dangerous!"
"Not for us, just stay in the barrier. It will hold. Hey, Ye Qiu. How do you want to do this?"
"I need to get some exercise. You mind sitting this one out?" Jensen nodded as he took a step back, letting go off the long sword that vanished. Ye Qiu held the spear in one hand as he went after the Jiangshi. Fast strikes to the limbs with his left hand then the spear as the finisher. Rapid movements of both feet and arms made a spectacle. Lacerating the Jiangshi's limbs, then scoring the joints with fast pierce attacks.

Constantly having the spear at the ready, when a Jiangshi leaped to strike him from the right. Ye Qiu raised the back of his spear, pushing the rod to the Jiangshi's mouth. Kicking one into the wall as another pounced from the front. Ye Qiu pierced the chest with the spear, then jumping upwards. Freeing the spear while leaving a gaping cut on the Jiangshi's body.A downward spiral of spear piercing attacks mixed with fast swings to immobilize the Jiangshi.
Ye Qiu leaped to Jensen's side, shouldering the spear as he high fived Jensen. The high five itself was enough to cause the Jiangshis to explode from within, as their eyes and mouth began to emit a blue light.
"Nicely done. You're not too shabby."
"It's the spear. If I used my old spear? It would have shattered as a result of that. I can't seem to hold my strength as I did before." Ye Qiu said as they turned to see the dark mana gather by the entrance. An old man walked in with a necklace of beads, holding a staff in one hand and stroking his beard in the other.
"You will die today. It is a shame because of your ski-" Ye Qiu threw his spear that had erased the top portion of the body.
"Fuck. Why do all of the villains have to monologue every damn time!? Just shut up and attack!" Ye Qiu groaned as he went to the corpse to loot what else was there. Humming to himself while Jensen kept watch, looking around to sense any sort of mana fluctuations.
"Some mana pills, mana elixirs. Jensen, you think they're useful?" Ye Qiu was rummaging the remains as he put the loot he had found by the left.
"For your level? They can barely even restore your spent mana by 1 percent." Jensen answered as he undid the barrier.
"Master Ye Qiu, Master Jensen. Thank you for saving us." The Lim family paid their respects by bowing and lowering their heads to the pair.
"No thanks, needed Patriarch. Ye Qiu hates those dark mana types more than anything." Jensen remarked as Ye Qiu ate the pills and drank the elixirs, not feeling much of the difference. Disappointed, shaking his head. Staring at the bottom of the elixir, looking through it like a telescope. Trying to get as much of the drop the elixir can give.
Even then, it was not enough to satiate Ye Qiu's large mana pool. Jensen could see the boredom on Ye Qiu's face, but the eyes spoke of anger. The dark mana had always been Ye Qiu's trigger for the rage. Ye Qiu's family had died because the ones who practiced dark mana sucked the life out of them before his eyes, leaving him alone to die in a fire.
"We'll be seeing them soon. I'm going to head back first. Mind if I borrow this spear a bit?"
"Sure. Why don't you hold on to Reckoning Dawn for a bit?" Ye Qiu looked at Reckoning Dawn flying to his hand.
"Thanks brother." Jensen and Ye Qiu parted ways to head back home, this is a big deviation from the original story that Jensen and Ye Qiu had known. It might be just Lorelei making things interesting for them. The next day came around with Liu Lan and Tan Yuan missing from school, most likely being grounded by their parents for the amount of money they had wasted.
Ye Qiu and Jensen were enjoying a cigar by the entrance after class hours.
"When's the Lin family kicking you guys out?"
"Tonight. Apparently my dad staying away from the Lin family wasn't enough. They want compensation because I broke my aunt's limbs for hurting my mother." Ye Qiu answered as Jensen gave him the keys to the villa.
"So do you plan to go?"
"Obviously. They're just going to try something. Might be breaking my legs or crippling my powers." Jensen coughed at hearing those words. Cripple the War God?
"Anyone here tried to cripple you will end up dying because they can't handle the amount of mana you generate. Crippling a person means you seal it away and they want to seal your powers? Good luck trying. Even Lorelei had trouble sealing it.
"Hey. After I'm done with today. I'll head back and help you out. You're going to need all the help you can get right? I've killed maybe thousands of the demigods that messed with my world. So it's mainly peaceful. I manage to give three Gods to Lorelei's plate but even then. They're a lot weaker than what the Lord of Thorns went through." Ye Qiu said which Jensen was surprised to hear. Mainly because out of the Avatars of Lorelei, Ye Qiu was the strongest but to hear that from him. Jensen wondered how strong Silas was.
"I'll see you some other time, Ye Qiu." Jensen vanished, opening his eyes back to the real world.
The Legendary Keeper has made a Covenant with the Avatar of War, the War God.
The covenant of brotherhood.
When his world is in danger, you may enter to aid him.
When your world is in danger.
He may enter to aid you.
Passage of time is altered.
Supreme Goddess Lorelei and Supreme Goddess Etana has ensured that the time flow in the worlds will be altered.
Jensen looked at his body, his white hair and the white eyes had remained. Even his outfit was new. Lying on his bed, Jensen felt the tiredness of his body kick in.
"System."
The system cannot detect your growth.
Your weapons have been adjusted according to your Hunter rank.
Your weapons will do damage as average weapons of your rank with its own innate abilities.
Do you remember your basics?
"Yeah. I'm a Keeper that has a focus on swords and magic. I'm not good with guns at all."
You're not the only one.
The Keeper of Libra is a musician who never fought with his blade. His legionnaires will be fighting on his behalf.
The Keeper of Cancer only uses magic exclusively with his never ending mana pool.
"Then why is the Orchestra Virgo's technique? Shouldn't it be his?"
Because Keepers use different things to compliment them.
Libra is not a good front line combatant, his only weapon is a rapier and despite the prowess of his skills. Libra's body was damaged beyond repair when he was found. His strength has waned a lot as a result.
Cancer was much more frail but his mana control was superb.
Every Keeper of the Zodiacs had many things that stopped them from reaching their full potential.
They've all chosen to guide people carefully.
Jensen understood as he decided to check his phone, seeing some details changed. Now seeing the other Hunters be listed in his phone.
"This is new."
Etana, Lorelei and Satanael scorn at the idea of a human who has been using their powers to bring forth demigods and other Gods to meddle in the world. As a result along with Lucius, many of the Gods who are of the same view are seeing that there needs to be changes for this.
They are Hunters who know of your origin and Silas's origin.
Ye Qiu who has signed a covenant will be treated as a member of the Predators.
Jensen was relieved so at least most of the things have been sorted out.
"Does Silas need me there?"
You can join him.
His name in the world is Albert Sylvanus.
You will be a traveling wanderer, with the name of Jensen Abern.
Would you like to go there?
"Yep."
Beginning Transfer to World of Upiezen.
Jensen vanished in a bright light, where he was falling from the sky.
"Well. Fuck." Jensen said as he crashed into a large tree. Tumbling onto every branch down the way.
"Ow! Ow!" If Jensen wasn't a Keeper. He'd be literally dead right now, falling face first. With his face buried onto the floors. A hand grabbed his shoulder to pull him out. It was Albert Sylvanus.
"Hey."
"Good to see you, Jensen. World Tree... Did you expect this?"
"Ah, yes. Now we have a Lord of Thorns and a Legendary Keeper. I believe that this is an amazing combination."
"A World Tree!? How many branches do you have?! God, I can feel my head ringing. Can't you make it a smoother landing?!"
"Sorry, but there was no natural way to bring you here. Besides that wasn't that bad right?" Jensen grit his teeth, clenched his fist as he closed his eyes. Trying to ease the anger to that remark.
"Just bear with it, Jensen. It's for Bigby and Alex." An annoyed sigh, Jensen shook his head and checked his pulse. Making sure that he was still alive.
"Yeah. Yeah. I'll bear with it. So why are you hanging out with these wimps?" Albert explained everything to them where Jensen was massaging his head to it.
"Fucking demigods. Granting idiots power. Please tell me you got something from the one you butchered?" Albert passed a flower where Jensen took it, where it changed to a book. A chair flew over to Jensen's side, where he began to read into it. Flipping the pages within seconds, then smacking the book to his head.
"Useless info. No idea on the demigod. Usual sob story. Human abused by elves. Elves killed her entire family and well. You know how it goes. The two swordsmen that she was working with? They were flesh golems. trapped souls. Yada yada fuckin yada." Jensen threw the book aside where it vanished.
"It's unusual. Normally you can identify the demigods right?"
"Yep. This just means that the demigod is someone we're both not familiar with. Could be an outsider."
"Can you help fix this world?"
"Not the usual way. It's got a mana tree. Fix the mana tree, shag the asshole demigod or maybe a God. Then I can fix it. A bit of work for you eh?" Albert nodded while Jensen grumbled his thoughts away.
"Who is he?" Thessalia was the first to ask.
"A Keeper. To be more precise he is a Legendary Keeper. A figure involved in repairing worlds and restoring them to its proper nature. A Keeper's duty is to repair worlds that have been ravaged by outside forces or by manipulation by individuals that wish to set the world asunder. In terms of power, the Legendary Keeper with the right items may prove a match for the Avatar of Seasons but in his current state... He is lacking."
"Cut me some slack, you giant piece of wood. I just got back my powers. My constitution is still garbage. If I was in my prime, I could at least get a smoother landing. Not smacking my face into the ground and having my butt up in your direction. Sheesh." Jensen bellowed while the World Tree chuckled.
"I apologize. Not to offend you but your mana is immense. You could even replace me if needed, but it seems to have been depleted."
"Yeah, that's what I get for restoring a world. I'm a walking mana generator but it does take forever to restore it. Luckily this place is rich with mana." Jensen said as an apple fell to his hand.
"A golden apple. This should at least restore a chunk of it. Might be around half a percent?" Then Jensen looked to his shadow seeing it grow bigger.
"Oh you've got to b-" Hundreds of apples fell upon Jensen, burying him in it as the World Tree chuckled with joy.
"Ugh, this is why I hate trees." Albert laughed at the sight of Jensen being buried in the apples, popping his head out like a rabbit looking around for its place. Either way Jensen was just eating the golden apples like they were candies, mowing them down as fast as he could.
"Rest well, brother. We'll have to deal with things later."
"Shure shure.." Jensen spoke with his mouth full while Albert let out a sigh as he left. The other Chosen kept watch over Jensen, trying to confirm if he was truly a friend or foe.
