"Guys, wake up, the sun's up," Zeeha called, waking the two up.
"Yawn... Oh, it's already morning. I'm still tired," Hiro stretched. "Oh, Kyren got some sleep too," he added, looking at Kyren.
"I'm about to attend the GA's meeting. We'll be discussing the upcoming elimination match," Zeeha said, already dressed in her uniform.
"You're an early bird, Zeeha," Hiro remarked.
Kyren finally woke up, still groggy.
"Kyren, let's go hunt some fish. We have a lot of time," Hiro said, looking out the window beaming with sunlight.
Kyren, still half asleep, stared into the distance.
"I'm going now. Be careful, guys," Zeeha said as she left.
"See ya later, Zeeha!" Hiro called out as he started to make equipment for hunting.
...
Kyren and Hiro began their day much like any other, surviving on the isolated island with no hope of outside help. They hunted for food, cooked their meals, and worked on improving their hut, running at full speed at the side of the river, push ups, and doing sparring with each other.
"Hiro you are getting better at attacking your sword." Kyren said, sitting in the huge stone in the side of the river.
"You think so? Anyway are sure about switching your sword with a dagger Kyren?" Hiro said while still cleaning himself in the river water.
"Yeah, I feel like I can do a lot more things with daggers, I just realize after the gladius destroyed by that prisoner." Kyren stood up, walking to their hut to prepare for their next afternoon studies and trainings.
"Well, I guess we can't be in the same job path, you think executioner fit you better than a fighter?" Hiro followed.
"I don't know, but let me work it out." Kyren said.
After finishing their morning tasks, they were ready to proceed with their planned studies.
Leaving their place, they proceeded with their individual missions. Kyren, intrigued by Rezhura and his background, delved deeper into the mission data book, top guild profiles, and top warrior job attainments. After forming a detailed picture of Rezhura and his Royal Squad, Kyren's curiosity was piqued by the documentation of their last mission. It was an S-Class mission, indicating its extreme difficulty and importance. The mission entailed clearing one of the Darklord Districts, a perilous area known for being under the control of powerful evil forces. During this mission, they discovered a world-threatening danger: the Darklord King, Mauro, was expecting an unborn child prophesied to shift the balance of the realm. This child had the potential to wipe out the entire Human and Elf races, presenting an existential threat.
The mission directive was clear: stop this threat by any means necessary, including the drastic measure of killing the unborn child. This revealed the mission's high stakes and urgency.
As Kyren examined the records, he noticed a troubling gap. There was no information about the mission's outcome. The details ended abruptly with the mission's objective, leaving Kyren unsure if the threat had been neutralized or if it still posed a danger. This lack of information was unsettling and raised many questions.
Kyren considered several possibilities: Had the mission been completed in secrecy? Was the information too sensitive to be documented publicly? Or had something gone terribly wrong? The absence of this critical information suggested that the library's records might not be up-to-date or complete.
Kyren had another thought. The mission, detailed in the data book, had been posted last year. If anything had gone wrong with Rezhura and his team, the realm is not in this current condition. The uncertainty of their success or failure weighed heavily on his mind, emphasizing the urgency and gravity of their situation.
"Another unanswered mystery huh?"
Kyren returned all of the papers and books he had grabbed from the bookshelf. As he organized the materials, he heard a voice behind him.
"It's rare for someone to visit this library in the middle of class," someone said. Startled, Kyren turned to see who it was. A tall figure loomed over him. Looking up, he recognized the 3rd GA, Roger Blake.
"Oh, Mr. 3rd, yeah. Due to the insufficient number of proctors, our section doesn't have one," Kyren said, trying to steady his voice. He quickly straightened his posture and faced Roger Blake.
Roger Blake's eyes narrowed as he scrutinized Kyren. "What is your name, kid?" he asked, his voice deep and resonant.
"My name is Kyren..." Kyren hesitated, unsure if he wanted to engage with the 3rd GA, knowing he was the enemy of their section. He fidgeted with the edge of a book, avoiding Roger's gaze.
Roger Blake extended his hand. "I'm Roger Blake. You can address me as that. I really appreciate a human seeking knowledge, and I believe you know why I feel that way," he said, his grip firm and steady.
Kyren accepted the handshake, feeling the strength in Roger's grasp. "Nice to meet you, Roger Blake," he continued, releasing the handshake. "Anyway, why are you visiting here? Like you said, we are in the middle of class."
Roger Blake glanced around the library, his eyes resting on a particular shelf. "Well, I'm retrieving this book." He pointed at a book on the shelf. Kyren followed his gaze and read the title: "True Strength of the Human Race."
Roger reached out and took the book from the shelf, dusting off the cover with a thoughtful expression. "I was hoping to find more information about our race, but I suppose I know everything this book has to offer," he said, tucking the book under his arm.
"Anyway, kid, good luck on your journey. I hope we all pass. this room is like heaven in our race. Continue to do what you are doing." Roger tapped Kyren's shoulder and walked away, but he stopped before leaving the room. "Last one thing kid, If you are thinking of why the world is so unfair in our race and giving up, remember, the strongest warrior in our realm is Rezhura and he belong to our race."
