After the allocation of all students to their respective sections and the coronation of the 16 Guardian Angels, the handsome prodigy spread his hands. "Okay, students, from now on, we will just meet for every elimination challenge. I'll introduce you to our Head Proctor for this Batch, Head Proctor ARC." Proctor ARC stepped onto the center of the stage. "All your inquiries, complaints, and concerns will be handled by her," the handsome prodigy added.
She was a very beautiful human girl, adorned in a complete set of warrior armor. Despite her intimidating appearance, there was a relaxed demeanor about her. Kyren and Hiro felt a positive vibe seeing her.
"Hiro, that's the teacher Patricia was talking about," Kyren whispered.
Hiro leaned forward, focusing on the Proctor. "She's cute. I mean... is she really strong too?"
But their conversation was interrupted when Proctor ARC spoke with her beautiful voice. "Hello, students. Nice to meet you all. We will have a full day off today, and we will start our first ever class tomorrow. For now, we will be giving you the uniform and a badge that indicates your section." The official began to hand over the uniform with a color of white, and a gold lining, and badge to Kyren and Hiro, adorned with the symbol of XVI. "Always present that badge in the canteen, your designated dormitory building, the library, training hall, and weapon storage. This badge gives you permission to access all of our buildings here, and your designated proctor might ask for your badge before starting a lesson, like in the qualifying exam, protect your badges at all causes."
Proctor ARC continued, her voice carrying authority and warmth. "So from now on, get some rest in your designated dormitory. However, the 16 Guardian Angels will be in a meeting with me and the Advisory Proctors."
Exiting the event hall, Kyren and Hiro were confronted with the reality of their new uniforms. "Kyren, these colors are a bit much, It's not my type." Hiro remarked, a hint of discomfort in his voice as he glanced down at the bright attire.
"Yeah, they're definitely... bright colors often hurt my head." Kyren agreed, his expression a mixture of resignation and mild annoyance. "But I guess we don't have much choice in the matter."
"True," Hiro acknowledged, shifting his gaze away from the uniforms as they continued walking. "Anyway, we have plenty of time to explore the academy today. Want to start by finding our dormitory and dropping off our things?"
"Sounds like a plan," Kyren replied, . "Let's get settled in first, then we can see what this place has to offer."
"Agreed," Hiro said with a nod, "Let's go."
...
As they entered the dormitory, a sense of age and neglect hung heavily in the air. The building appeared old, with faded paint peeling off the walls and cobwebs clinging to the corners. The floors were covered in dust, and the windows were smudged with grime, allowing only dim light to filter through.
The person in charge of the dormitory seemed indifferent and disinterested, barely acknowledging their presence as they shuffled past. He lounged lazily in a chair, cigarette smoke curling lazily from between his fingers. The smell of stale smoke mingled with the musty odor of the neglected building, creating an unpleasant atmosphere. It was evident that cleanliness and upkeep were not a priority in this dormitory.
"So you guys belong here," the man taking care of the dormitory said, his voice a gruff rasp as he exhaled a cloud of smoke that seemed to linger in the air like a foul omen. His eyes, half-hidden behind a veil of cigarette haze, scanned Hiro and Kyren with a mixture of disinterest and suspicion.
"Yes! Here's our section badge," Hiro replied, holding out the badge with a forced enthusiasm that seemed to bounce off the caretaker's indifference like rain on asphalt. The man grunted in response, barely sparing a glance at the badge before motioning for them to enter.
"Where's our room here?" Kyren asked, eager to escape the oppressive atmosphere of the caretaker's scrutiny.
"Just pick anywhere, find a room without a student, then that's yours," the man replied, his voice laced with a weary resignation that suggested he had uttered those words more times than he cared to count. "But remember, you guys will have to get along with two more, because this dormitory is too damn small for all of you. We need to maximize every goddamn room." With that, he leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes as if seeking refuge from the world in the cocoon of his own apathy.

They entered the dormitory room section, and immediately, the oppressive atmosphere wrapped around them like a suffocating blanket. The air was thick with the acrid scent of neglect, and the walls seemed to whisper of past troubles that had left scars too deep to be erased.
"It feels like the officials didn't give a care about this dormitory," Hiro muttered, his disappointment palpable in the air. "It's like they dumped all the unwanted shit here and called it a day."
"Yeah," Kyren agreed, his eyes darting nervously around the dimly lit corridor, half-expecting something sinister to leap out from the shadows. "At least we're here, right? That's all that matters."
They wandered through the dismal maze of rooms, each one more decrepit than the last. "Well, I guess low rank student can't be choosers," Hiro said, his voice tinged with resignation as he kicked aside a pile of debris to claim an empty room. "Let's just hope we don't wake up with cockroaches crawling in our beds."
The beds, if they could still be called that, were nothing more than decrepit skeletons of their former selves. The bed frames, warped and twisted, groaned in protest as they sagged under the weight of the filthy mattresses. The sheets, once a pristine white, were now a mottled mess of stains and tears, a testament to the countless bodies that had passed through this room before them.
But perhaps the most disturbing sight of all was the wall opposite the beds, which had been defiled with graffiti that seemed to leer down at them like a chorus of mocking voices. dark jokes and curse words were scrawled in a haphazard jumble of colors, each word a vulgar punctuation mark on the bleak canvas of the room.
Hiro and Kyren exchanged a glance, their expressions a mixture of disgust and resignation. "Well, looks like we've hit the jackpot," Hiro muttered, his voice heavy with sarcasm as he pushed the broken bed frame to the edge of the wall.
"Yeah, HAHAHA," Kyren replied, his lips curling into a grimace as he surveyed the room with a mixture of dismay and disbelief. "I didn't expect this will be our place in the "Prestigious" Academy, but its better than the forest I guess?." With a bitter laugh, he flopped down onto one of the dilapidated beds, the rusty springs creaking in protest beneath his weight.
Kyren and Hiro took a moment to rest, allowing themselves to reflect on the hardships they had faced since embarking on this path.
...
"You know, Kyren," Hiro began, his voice heavy with contemplation, "I can't help but think back to that student in the event hall who said we're only here by luck. Maybe he's right. Perhaps he's just frustrated that his friend couldn't make it to Sky Academy. What if you and I find ourselves in a similar situation? its really hard to imagine without you here, I might end up failing or dying."
Kyren still starring at the ceiling, understanding Hiro's concerns. "Well, Hiro, I'm giving it everything I've got."
"Yeah," Hiro responded, his admiration evident. "I just realized how smart you are when we were captured by the prisoners. How did you come up with the idea to press that button by throwing a rock? And how did you know that he would be the one teleported and not you or me?"
"It was a gamble, really," Kyren admitted, recalling their tense moment during the qualification exam. "I thought, in that moment, that if they could steal our buttons, then the mechanics of the buttons dictate that those close by would be the ones teleported, not necessarily the original owners. But really, it was all theory in my mind and not necessarily the truth that he would be the one teleported if I hit the button on his hand."
Kyren continued, closing his left eye and aiming for the trash bin with a piece of trash he picked up from the ground. "At first, I was really thinking of aiming for his hands, but suddenly an idea popped up that I assumed he'd block whatever I threw at him because he wouldn't know what I had thrown; it could have been a bluff like I did, or maybe a knife. Luckily, he remained unaware that he'd been holding the button all along. It was pure luck that it worked."
"You're truly a genius, Kyren," Hiro complimented, pondering his own capabilities. "It makes me wonder if I'm truly human race. I don't feel smart enough to devise plans like that."
As the group of four students barged into their room, interrupting their conversation, tension filled the air.
"This is our room, get out," one of the students declared firmly.
"We've already settled in here. maybe we can share the space," Hiro suggested, attempting to diffuse the situation.
With a sudden burst of aggression, one of the students kicked the trash bin, sending it hurtling toward Hiro. Reacting quickly, he blocked it, but the atmosphere grew even more hostile as the other student whispered something to the one who kicked the trash bin.
...
"So, you two are the bottom of the list who managed to scrape by?" the student who had kicked the bin jeered. "And to think, you're just two out of five humans in our section. HAHAHAHAHA!"
Meanwhile, Kyren attempted to calm Hiro down, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Let's go, Hiro. It's not worth it to fight over an empty, dirty room."
"Yeah, you two don't even deserve to sleep in rooms. In the first elimination round, both of you will be kicked out anyway, so get the fuck out of here," another student added, his tone dripping with disdain.
Kyren and Hiro left the room with their uniforms and their badge, and were shocked by how messed up their dormitory was. It resembled a prison cell, with everybody bullying each other and others messing around. It was too noisy and chaotic to be called a restful place,
"That's sucks Kyren." Hiro rushed to the front door of the room "What's our plan Kyren? Are you still in exploring the Sky Academy?" Hiro said while holding his uniform taking care not have a dirt on it.
"It's up to you." Kyren asked back.
"Well, we've rested enough. Maybe let's explore this school and find some sweet spots where we can relax. Perhaps we should go to the cafeteria and grab some food?" Hiro suggested.
"Yeah, It's a nice idea, let's relax for a moment." Kyren said.
