CH 27 - XVI

Kyren and Hiro strolled through the halls of the Sky Academy, their footsteps echoing softly against the polished stone floors. As they entered the Training Hall for Physical Training, they were greeted and shocked at the same time by the sight of students start practicing various combat techniques instead of resting, Kyren and Hiro think that this students wasted no time to be excelled in the Academy, Weapons of all kinds you can ever imagine hung neatly on racks along the walls, and the air was filled with the sound of sparring and the occasional clang of metal meeting metal.

Moving on to the Training Hall for Magic, they found themselves surrounded by shelves of tomes and the faint scent of incense, An organized numerous books indicated how to properly wield roots. Additionally, there was a template list of root enchantments created by previous students or alumni, along with some special and complicated spells.

They go to the library, a quiet sanctuary filled with rows of bookshelves stretching from floor to ceiling. Kyren felt a sense of wonder as he ran his fingers over the spines of the ancient volumes, each one holding a wealth of knowledge about their world and its history. In a corner of the room, they discovered a map with tags marking unexplored territories, sparking their curiosity about what lay beyond the borders of their known world.

Kyren and Hiro peered at the map spread out before them, their eyes widening in amazement at the detailed landscape it depicted.

"Wow, this is the first time I've seen our whole map with all the updates," Hiro exclaimed, pointing at various landmarks.

Kyren nodded, equally impressed. "Yeah, it's kind of crazy how big it really is. Look at how close Sky Academy and Sandhills Town seem, but it takes over an hour to travel between them."

Kyren followed Hiro's finger as it traced a path on the map. "Yeah, that's the Forest of Paramnesia between the Verboten Gate and Towerwatch number 2."

"I see why we can't go to the Towerwatch number 2." Kyren traced the 3 pathways. "The safest route is south of Knightbay City...." he sighed. "And I heard from Patricia that you need at least three Starred Badge to even enter there."

Kyren and Hiro had spent hours exploring the library, and by the time they finished, they stepped into the Sky Academy Cafeteria, immediately struck by its elegant ambiance. The spacious room was bathed in soft, golden light that danced off polished marble floors and sleek, modern furniture. Crystal chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, casting a warm glow over the bustling space. There was a huge table in the center designated for all the GA.

But it wasn't just the decor that impressed them. The cafeteria boasted a lavish spread of culinary delights that stretched as far as the eye could see. From gourmet entrees to tantalizing desserts, there was something to satisfy every craving. The aroma of freshly baked bread and savory dishes filled the air, making their mouths water with anticipation.

If you encounter this tale on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

As they made their way through the buffet, Kyren and Hiro couldn't help but marvel at the abundance of choices before them. It was clear that the Sky Academy Cafeteria spared no expense when it came to providing its students with a dining experience fit for royalty.

"Can I see your BS Number, young fellas?" The girl who was serving the food asked with a pleasant smile.

After Kyren and Hiro showed their badges, the girl's demeanor changed, and she became uninterested in them.

"Wait! Can we get food now?" Hiro said.

"Wait for me, This buffet is exclusive for sections 1-10 only. I'll give you your food, hold on for a second." The girl reached under the table and handed out separate food with the indicator for Section XVI.

Hiro felt disrespected by what was happening to them. "Kyren, can we not eat here? Maybe let's go to our dorm," Hiro said, while holding his food—a large chunk of sweet potato with a beef brisket sandwich.

"Yeah," Kyren replied. He knew how Hiro was feeling right now.

After they went to their dormitory, they forgot that their place was now owned by the bullies, so they decided to eat outside the dormitory, circling around the building to find a safe hidden place where they could eat.

"Kyren, the training hasn't even started yet, and it's getting worse and worse. I knew we would face a lot of difficulties dealing with other students, but I never thought that even the officials here would want us to opt out," Hiro said, sitting on a mini hill while eating.

"Yeah, maybe our section is expected to be the first to fail, and they don't invest so much in us. They are prioritizing those at the top," Kyren replied.

"That's so unfair," Hiro said.

"Anyway Hiro, do you mind making a place here? Maybe we can build our own room here, peacefully," Kyren suggested.

"Is that legal according to the rules?" Hiro wondered.

"I guess so. They don't pay much attention to us, even if we stole or burned down this forest-like campus. It's too far away from the main buildings," Kyren explained.

"Haha! It's a great idea, Kyren. So... are we building it today?" Hiro asked.

"Yeah! And in fact, I have a plan. Let's get some bed foam when no one's around and put it in our built-in room," Kyren proposed.

"But Kyren, that's stealing. I don't think we can do that," Hiro objected.

"Stealing what? Trash? And we're not really taking it away; we're just moving it here," Kyren justified.

"I see. I don't have anything to say against that," Hiro relented.

Excited by the prospect of building their own space, Kyren and Hiro set out to find suitable materials. They scoured the surrounding area, gathering fallen branches, sturdy sticks, and any other natural resources they could find. With determination and ingenuity, they began constructing their hut.

Hiro took the lead, using his knowledge of basic carpentry to fashion the framework of their treehouse. Meanwhile, Kyren assisted by gathering supplies and offering suggestions for the design. Together, they worked tirelessly, fueled by their shared vision of creating a sanctuary away from the pressures of school life.

As the sun began to set, casting a warm orange glow over the campus, Kyren and Hiro stepped back to admire their handiwork. Their improvised hut was hidden under the tall trees. With a sense of pride and accomplishment, they went inside, settling down on the temporary makeshift bed foam they had set up.

Surrounded by the soothing sounds of nature and the rustling of leaves, Kyren and Hiro felt a sense of peace wash over them.

"It's really a hundred times better than those dormitory rooms, Kyren. You really have a lot of great ideas," Hiro said as he started to lay down.

"Well, we are used to staying in the forest, so this doesn't feel any different," Kyren replied, while tidying his uniform on the clear table they had built.
