After an hour's journey, Kyren, Hiro, Alaine, and Roland arrived at Sandhills town, home to the Heart Blade guild's office. The town bustled with activity, its sandy streets lined with charming wooden buildings resembling treehouses. Palm trees swayed in the gentle breeze, while the nearby shore shimmered under the sunlight. Despite the mild heat, the weather was pleasant, with clear skies and a hint of salt in the air. As they made their way through the lively town, anticipation filled the air as they approached the guild office, ready to begin their next adventure.
Finally, they reached the Heart Blade guild's office, a small yet impeccably clean and organized space. Bathed in sunlight, the cozy interior featured sturdy desks adorned with neatly stacked parchment and quills. Shelves filled with books and scrolls lined one wall, while a large table in the center displayed maps and diagrams of various missions. On the other side of the wall, plenty of weaponry was displayed and ready to be picked up.
"Yo, girl, They're out on an E rank mission, they just started," Patricia said, her voice carrying a confident and friendly tone.
"I see. Anyway, Patricia, meet Hiro and Kyren," Alaine began, introducing the two newcomers.
"What's up, boys? You guys new recruits?" Patricia greeted them, her demeanor welcoming and relaxed.
Alaine shook her head with a smile. "No... Not yet, but maybe soon. They're my friends," she explained. Turning to Hiro and Kyren, she continued, "And Hiro, Kyren, meet Patricia, our Vice Leader in the Heart Blade guild. She's one of my trustworthy classmates from Sky Academy. We both received 3 Starred Fighter Badges."
Hiro's eyes widened in amazement. "WOAH! This guild is really strong. Nice to meet you, Patricia!" he exclaimed enthusiastically.
"Nice to meet you too, Patricia," Kyren added, offering a friendly nod in Patricia's direction.
"They will stay in the office for a week until the Academy starts," Alaine announced. "And Pat, I'd like you to join me in teaching them some stuff," she added, turning to Patricia.
"No problem with that, girl. When do we start? Today? We have a short time," Patricia gladly accepted.
Kyren and Hiro exchanged a glance, feeling a sense of gratitude for the support and guidance they were receiving from the Heart Blade guild.
"Yes, but before, Kyren... Hiro.... what weapon do you prefer on your combat style?" Alaine said.
"I prefer fighting with 2 handed sword." Hiro said.
"Alaine, Patricia, can I ask your main weapon first? I'm not really sure and I have no idea what role I'll focus on?" Kyren hesitant.
Patricia is confused on what Kyren said, Alaine notice it.
"By the way, Patricia, Kyren have lost his memory, and he's a bit lucky to find my childhood friend in the way, maybe let's help him" Alaine said.
"I see, I see, don't worry about that... so for your question, when in a friendly combat i fight with my bare hands, and when the real thing happend, I wear that" pointed at the Spiky Pauldron armor. "I'll crush 'em with my shoulder.
"Whoa you are really strong Patricia." Hiro's amusement getting higher.
"but I would not suggest to take the same weapon as Patricia" Alaine said.
"Why?" Kyren asked.

"Because she's physically gifted, her race is in our fellow Imp race, they are built physically strong, and we are human race." Alaine said.
Kyren remember studying the difference between races strength and weaknesses in the vermint town. "So, what do human race often use a weapon? what role they are often acquire?"
Alaine explained. "Ok, so the study said that we human are slightly better in critical thinking and accuracy, but we don't have roots so being an Sorcerer, Healer, and maybe Defender is not our path, the best role for us will be Fighter, or Shooter, Executioner is also a choice but you really need a lot of effort because we can't deal a fatal strike to some race, but its possible, we usually take Fighter role as the commander of the team."
Kyren's brow furrowed as he processed the information, a sense of unease settling over him. "If that's the case, do we really need to be smarter than other races?" he questioned, his voice tinged with frustration at the perceived unfairness.
Alaine and Patricia exchanged glances, a silent communication passing between them as they hesitated to answer.
"Yes, that's right," Patricia replied reluctantly.
Kyren's frustration grew. "If we can't be smarter than them, then are we useless?" he pressed.
Alaine and Patricia exchanged another glance before Alaine spoke up, her voice serious. "You are smart, Kyren," she affirmed.
...
Hiro, looking dumb confused, interjected, "Wait, wait... What's happening? I can't keep up with our conversation."
Alaine took a deep breath. "The fact is, I warned you before because one of the factors of why Sky Academy is not safe is because of the racial discrimination among students," she explained. "You guys will have a hard time there because no one ever wants to team up with a Human race, especially if you're not an experienced warrior before entering the academy."
Kyren's mind raced with a whirlwind of doubts and fears, his brow furrowed and sweat dripping from his brow as he grappled with the weight of the information.
"Do we really need to do this? Am I going to survive that?" Kyren's thoughts echoed in his mind, the girl from his nightmare haunting his thoughts with her ominous hiss. "You can't..."
Before he could spiral further into his fears and doubts, Hiro touched on his shoulder brought him back to the present. "Don't worry, Kyren," Hiro's voice cut through the turmoil, his words filled with unwavering confidence. "Remember what you said from the start before we pursued this goal? Let's be true to ourselves and our good intentions."
Kyren's tense shoulders relaxed as he took in Hiro's words, a sense of calm washing over him as he nodded in agreement. "You're right, Hiro," he affirmed.
"Anyway, we're just getting started yet getting deeper. Let's go back to the main topic. I use a sword too, so I can teach Hiro how to properly wield one," Alaine offered.
"Really? I'm really lucky, isn't it?" Hiro chimed in, seemingly unfazed by the weight of the information they had just received.
"Maybe I'll use a sword too, so we can maximize our time and focus on one training at a time," Kyren suggested.
"That's a cool idea, Kyren," Hiro agreed, a spark of excitement igniting in his eyes as they began to discuss their training plans.
As Alaine and Patricia placed three swords on the table, Hiro's eyes lit up with excitement. He reached for the Claymore, a massive weapon that seemed to call out to him. "Man, this sword really suits me," he exclaimed, striking a confident stance as he tested its weight and balance with both hands.
Alaine turned to Kyren with a smile. "What about you, Kyren? Which sword do you want to use?" she asked.
Kyren studied the remaining swords for a moment before his gaze settled on the Gladius, a sleek, light and elegant blade. "I'll pick this one," he decided, grabbing the sword.
"It's a single-handed sword, maybe you should pair it with a shield or do you have anything in mind to pair with it?" Alaine suggested, concern evident in her tone.
Kyren hesitated, his fingers tracing the contours of the sword's hilt as he considered Alaine's advice. "I'm thinking about using only this... I don't have anything else in mind to pair with it," he admitted, his uncertainty palpable.
"I don't think it's a good idea, Kyren," Alaine interjected, her voice filled with sincerity.
"Why?" Kyren questioned, seeking clarification.
"Because, humans only rely on weapons, and you'll have a lot of vulnerabilities. You can't protect yourself effectively with that light sword, especially against root attacks," Patricia explained. "Compared to that Claymore, it can resist some low to mid-level root attacks. Light sword wielders usually rely on roots to boost their speed so they can dodge attacks instead of parrying them," Patricia added.
Kyren's gaze lingered on the Gladius short sword, his mind swirling with a mix of confusion and frustration. "So the human race really has a handicap in this world..." he mused quietly to himself.
"I think I'll figure it out along the way," Kyren stated.
"Alright, boys, I think we can start the drill in the town's training hall," Patricia taking the lead as they go to the training hall.
