Dominic walked alone.
A dark alley, a swinging fence.
Unruly students leaning against the vandalised walls.
Smoke was released from their cigar.
"..." Dominic could feel the eyes on him from everyone in the vicinity. They were staring at him, watching his each and every move.
"plat" a single drop of water splashed against the puddle that was formed by the accumulation from the rain last night.
The atmosphere was moist , everyone was silent. A single sound of the splashing water resonated through the entire alley.
Dominic found himself walking forward, towards the area where most of the students gathered to escape their own made up drama in their lives.
"A new guy?" thought the students in the surroundings.
"No, he could be here looking for someone" the students were alerted. Ready to pounce to protect this little haven for them to vent their stress on.
A dark and quiet corner in the city. One where it leads to no where, and came from a single path hidden inbetween buildings. The perfect area for these emotionally stressed students to hide away from the horrors of society.
"Uhm" Dominic's single voice called out to everyone around.
It was spoken in a whisper.
"Where's the way to 6th district highschool?" he asked.
An awkward question that made the overeactive students want to hide their heads in a hole. It was simply a lost student.
"You go back to where you entered from, and walk to the right, you'll see a market there, just after it, would be the school." A student wearing a similiar black uniform as Dominic replied to his ridiculously common question.
"Thanks" Dominic replied.
And off he went.
Like a silent storm, Dominic went and left.
This was probably the most exciting that had happened today for these over sensitive students.

Dominic found himself at the entrance of a classic highschool gate, where every permanantly 16 year olds could be seen going along in groups and pairs.
Some walked alone.
6th district highschool was a more pratical school suited for thoese aspiring adventurers, thus it was not uncommon for people to have their prearranged groups before joining the school.
At the front gate, a holoboard floated.
"Auto-assigned students head to the left. Paired or grouped students head to the right"
That was all that it had said.
"?" Dominic was confused.
Having not red anything about the school and getting assigned here by the system, Dominic hadn't heard of the party system.
He was merely here to take the attendence for a student permit in the city.
The party system. This was where the classes are formed in groups, where there will be 30 students in each class. Each group of students are supposed to be grouped up in teams of 3, and will do all their team assignments together for the rest of their school year.
Support the creativity of authors by visiting Royal Road for this novel and more.
Students can choose to be paired or grouped and sign up as a team or choose to go solo and be filled in with other soloers or with a pair.
"Heads left, tails right" Dominic flipped a coin. A coin was a souvinier, one designed for tourists, with the logo of the city at the front and the details at the back. These details include the location and time of the current place.
As fate would have it, Dominic headed to the left.
There was a short queue formed ahead. A student council member was guiding the new students in line, where they will be paired up in the groups and class by matching them together with pairs or each other based on their class.
"Next" the students seated at the table managing the pairings at the front called out.
In a short while, Dominic found himself at the front of the queue.
"!" The student council member at the front looked slightly suprised. While others were nervous about who they get, the student ahead simply didnt look like he cared any less.
"So can i have your name and class?"he asked Dominic.
"Dominic. Gunslinger." A standard reply came from the average looking youth.
"Ah I see, a gunslinger..."the student council member said it out loud.
This was as gunslingers were fairly uncommon classes due to their expenses, thus he had no idea how to pair him up. Voicing it out loud was a pre discussed idea among members on how to handle a problem such as uncertain pairing.
"Ah, i have a pair here that fits!" another council member called out.
"Follow me" the other member beckoned Dominic.
And thus he went. Dominic came face to face with a relieved and somewhat dissapointed look of two girls.

???POV
My name is Verelona, today was the first day of school, as me and my roommate head together for the same school.
Her name is Lilith, and she's a socerer. We met in middle school, and somehow or another became roommates when we both decided to go independent at 16.
She has been one of my closest friend ever since we met. We hit off with each other perfectly, be it from our taste to our likes and dislikes.
She has a short cut hairstyle, and it was dyed red, matching her favourite element. Fire, or as she likes to call it ferneus.
She is rather short and cute for our age, and is secretly popular with the guys. If not for her fear of them.
We decided to team up when we found our common interest in exploring the world. And since I am a guardian, we match almost perfectly with one another.
I defend and she shoots. That has been our game since middleschool.
As i clasped her hand in mine, and prayed for a nice team member, i hoped that it would be a girl, and if not, a nice sweet guy that won't make reckless moves at her.
However, my prayers came up short, i mean, i was expecting the lack of girls since most of the girls are paired or grouped before comming here, but...
The one brought to us was introduced as a gunslinger. He had black hair, an average height, a perhaps slightly better looking face, at least compared to thoese around, and an attitude that screamed whatever.
"I'm Dominic, I hope we get along for these group thingy" he bowed his head politely, but he didn't sound like he really cared.
Oh well, at least it didn't look like he'll make a move on Lilith or me.
"Im Verelona, a guardian, and this is Lilith, she's a soccerer." I introduced in my best voice, trying to sound as welcoming as possible.
"Cool" he replied with a smile.
"By the way," he begined after that.
"What's this group thing about again?" he asked.
I nearly fainted, is he for real?

3rd POV
"Did you read the brochure before comming to this school?" Velerona asked Dominic.
"What brouchure?" Dominic replied without a thought.
"..."
"Well you see..."Lilith began to talk, her mouth slightly smiled as she explained. This was the first time she had the courage to speak to a guy, and she found him to be rather humorous.
Velerona stared at her. This was the first time she had seen Lilith being the one to speak out to a guy first. If one were to describe this feeling, it would be the same as a mother watching her daughther grow up.
"Oh.." Domimic seemed to get it.
"So we are working together for 3 years then?" he nodded in acknowledgment.
"I see...so i actually have to do something in school?" Dominic muttered under his breath.
"What was that?!" Velerona caught on his mutterings.
"Nothing~ lets get along for 3 years!" Dominic broke into a smile and went for a happy-go-lucky attitude.
"You guys are in class 1-C" the student council member informed them.
"Be sure to report in by 9am" he notified them.
The coin in Dominic's hand displayed a 7.35 a.m. as he flipped it once more.
"Grrrr"a certain short haired red head girl's stomach demanded a sacrafice.
"The cafeteria is just straight ahead" the student council member told the group, as a certain Lilith's face matched her hair's colour.
Without a word, the group advanced ahead.
"So uh velerona was it? What's your race?" Dominic asked.
"?!"
"I'm human, why'd ya ask?"she replied in a fluster.
"Oh. I guess i must be seeing things" Dominic replied.
Looking at the golden halo clouded by a misty aura above her head, Dominic decided not to probe any further.
After all, it was none of his business.
