Ever had that feeling where you feel like you are in a dream?

Where everything feels so light and free, and at the same time, lax and exciting.

That was exactly how it was.

I woke up to see myself face to face with nothing. Literally nothing but that strange feeling. I couldn't see, I couldn't move, feel or even breathe. It was like I had returned to a natural state. Something that had been the real me all this time.

"status" I tried to call out, but my thoughts don't seem to work as well.

I don't think that I had a body here, or at least I couldn't feel anything at all.

Was I sitting up? Lying down? Or standing up?

I couldn't comprehend it either.

"Hello there" I heard a voice call out to me. It had a warm and gentle tone, its words carried power, and yet strength within it.

"Hello" I replied mentally.

"Where is this place?" I continued in my head, hoping that he would be able to hear me somehow.

And to my suprise, he could.

"This is the space beyond space in a sense, a region beyond time, and everything, a place where people, gods, everything does not exist." the voice continued.

That was a bit hard to take in. A space beyond space? Isn't that a paradox in itself, I mean how can space exist beyond space itself? A region beyond time, then how exactly does everything flow here? If there isn't anything here, then who are you?

"I am the one that exist and yet doesn't exist at the same time"

"I am here but am not there"

"I am greater than omnipotence and more evil than evil itself"

At this point, I get it.

This is a test.

"You're nothing" was my conclusion.

There was no reply. Nothing at all. As expected of nothing itself. Despite this unfamiliar experience, my body oddly feels at ease. I was perhaps talking to something beyond the realm of mere gods or mortals. Strange, if you ask me.

This time, I could sense a different presence approach.

"Do you wish to know why you're here?" a different, more stern voice asked of me.

"Yes" I replied.

Talking with my mere thoughts on its own was much simpler than having to use my mouth. It was something like being able to change the TV channel without moving from the sofa.

"Do you know of the origin of the world?" the voice had asked.

If my memory serves me right, it was that everything had merged together right? But the reason was never told. So his here to explain it to me?

"Yes, you're right" he/she/it replied to me.

"What do you think about everything? Everything that has a form, life, shape, structure, anything that could be seen, felt, touched, tasted,or smelt."

A rethorical question.

"They are creations." he stated.

"We call these things, Origin or perhaps as you would like to better understand, Creation".

"Before time and space, chaos and order before everything or even nothing at all, there was absolute emptiness. A region of nothingness beyond even nothingness itself."

"And then, there was a spark, a little change that came out of no where. We call this, the origin, the creator of creation that created everything. Perhaps you would call this the split second before what you would call the big bang. Where everything began. With that came time, space, genesis, chaos, darkness, light, order, nothing, everything, elements, gods and finally, mortals, souls and everything else."

"So then, what do you think? Was the only thing that spawned from a region beyond even nothingness creation?"

No. Obviously it wasn't from your tone.

"Exactly, there was also something that appeared a little while later, that threatened to kill the creation. That was naturally known as the destroyer."

"The destroyer was what one could say, unstoppable. It continued to destroy, devour the many worlds and galaxies that were created. Each time he did so, small little parts of him would ironically create minature parts of him. They came to be known as the destroyer of worlds, bigger ones would have the various titles that fitted them. Destroyer of Galaxies, Destroyer of universe, cosmos, Destroyer of Dimensions etc."

Royal Road is the home of this novel. Visit there to read the original and support the author.

I think I can see where this is going. Its probably going to be something like I was born to oppose this or something. And origin had like made everything combine to make it easier to protect or something.

"Yes, you're right, but at the same time, you're wrong."

"You see, origin was scared of getting his creations destroyed and eventually himself, so he had created a miracle. And from miracle, came mortals born with ridiculous powers. Your father and your mother's family was one of thoese miracles. And then, the miracles would someday, reproduce with each other, to form a bigger miracle, and a miracle would have happened on one of thoese bigger miracles, and that would be you."

Nono. I think he might have gotten it wrong. Besides, isn't that a paradox? Miracles are called miracles because they don't happen.

I was barely able to even fight against my own brother, how could I be something which can oppose the destroyers that can eat whole planets for breakfast?

"I concur young one, because of the strength people like you are born with, you might kill off the people around you, so we had it sealed in a rock that came stuck to your body in some way. And, perhaps you might want to know this, but your powers will be dependent on your understanding of the universe, everything, and a peek at the region where origin had came from."

"After all, there's no way you could beat something that strong without getting the strength from the same source. If you could understand what I'm saying" the voice finished.

It was a lot to take in for a 7 year old child. I mean, if my parents hadn't sealed away the rock, I would probably have had this converstation the moment I was able to comprehend words, or even before that.

"Oh right, and if you're wondering, the unique skill you possess is something from that place. How strong you are would basically be how well you would understand it over there." the voice stated.

This guy... his probably Origin itself isn't he?

"Oh right, and you can't actually back off since you decided to activate the rock" he stated, before I found myself, my conciousness or whatever the state I was in sent off.

I could now see. See what was shown before me. It was so painful, my vision almost closed upon the slightest glance. But I forced it open. It was somethin I knew I would never have the chance to see.

What I was looking at, was a mess.

A garbled up mess of whatever the shit it was.

Its entire exsistence appeared to contradicted each other.

Only then, do I realise that I was looking at an unsolvable question or questions. One that turns around itself, and directs the answer back to its original source. A place of begining that was its end.

I had to see it, there was nothing that didn't have an answer after all.

"Wait a minute, are you attempting to...." I heard the voice said.

Ah.

My head felt like it was splitting into a million pieces over and over, as I tackled upon the questions. 1 by 1.

"STOP!" the voice called out.

Each time I cleared 1, my head exploded, causing tremendous pain to resonated through my entire being. I couldn't feel anything, and yet there was pain. But pain itself can't stop my curiosity. I wanted answers. Answers to everything.

It hurts.

"Your soul will explode if this goes on!" the voice warned.

Screw that, screw my soul. I needed answers.

It appears that the voice wanted to somehow make me stop, but it was unable to.

There was something else that had always bugged me. What exactly was this mysterious blue boxes that tells me stuff? Could it be from here as well?

No. It didn't seem so. It was as though the origin of the blue boxes(status etc.) came from origin. As he had made it to suit his needs.

But what about the mysterious unique ability? It was something that had exceeded origin himself. Something that even origin can't tell.

Which meant that it was something either stronger or at least on the same level.

Something from 'here'.

A space beyond space. A time before time.

The infinite paradox spreaded out before me, I wanted to know.

The only way to do so, is to head in deeper.

I willed myself to do so.

I could tell, the answer laid somewhere inside.

What exactly was compelling me to do this? I don't know. Perhaps some greater force, reason or something? No, it was mere personal curiosity.

What makes a paradox so strange?

Is it because it was unsolvable?

No.

It was because it brought infinite power, power so much so that fear is unable to be used to describe the feeling one has in the face of it.

An example would be when an unstoppable force meet an unmovable object.

What happens when an unstoppable force meets an unmovable object? If the force moves the object, then it is not unmovable. If the force doesn’t, the force is not unstoppable.

ANSWER: This situation can never happen, as if there is an unstoppable force, there couldn’t be an unmovable object and vice versa. More interestingly, there can never be an unmovable object. An unmovable object would have to have infinite inertia, and therefore infinite mass. Infinite mass cannot exist in our finite universe, therefore an unmovable object cannot exist.

The paradox of 0.999... and 1.

The rule to ignore all rules.

The problem of evil.

The infinite paradoxes of nihilism.

At last, I found it. The one last answer.

My soul was dying.

But at last, I knew the answer.

"I'm sorry.. ." I heard the same voice talking to me.

"at the same time, congratulations, you have became a cadidate of Origin"

And everything dissapeared.

"17 years from now or so, I believe that the destroyer will attempt to destroy this last remaining world."

"And also, the last remaining candidate shall be the one to take on my role."

"I fear that I can't protect my creations any longer, and that would be when I'll return to the great flow, perhaps until the time where nothing exists anymore."

From what I could tell, he most likely sealed up everything and threw the errors created by the paradoxes that came back from where he came from. Causing it to reach and infinite strength and hence empowering the destroyer that was still within that place.

"17 years from now, you and other candidates will be sent to fight off the incomming destroyers at 'that' place. And the remaining strongest candidate would take on my role while the others continue to fight for eternity or until the threat from the destroyers are gone. And. This is the only memory I'm letting you keep." the voice finished.

I could see a dark aura curl around me.

"losing your memory on how to use the ability is the same as losing it completely!" he announced.

"Until the day comes, I'll be doing my best in sealing all your abilities!" he declared, and I felt myself losing my memories or actually, my intellect?!.

Before I could retaliate, my world turned black.
