Right after I killed the mutated zombie, I handled the rest of the regular zombies lumbering around the inn.
Now, I am heading towards where the clashing of swords could be heard, which was at the entrance to the inn.
Upon arriving, I happened to see both Jasmine and Gabriella who were vividly exhausted but neither looked to have the desire of giving up anytime soon.
But now, both seem to be exchanging a few words with each other.
I could swoop in to attack Gabriella from her blind spot, but I am certain, even Jasmine wouldn't want that.
After all, this was her nightmare and not mine to overcome.
"Seeing you dead is the only joy I can find with what you did tonight," Gabriella said, flashing a mocking smile.
She added. "I'm going to kill you, and then the boy is next. I'll let him die a really slow death as he watches your body disintegrate in front of him,"
'Wait what? Me?' I, who overheard them talking, couldn't help but wonder how I got into the midst of their conversation.
Jasmine, on the other hand, couldn't help but chuckle at Gabriella's words, and this made Gabriella even more enraged.
She lunged towards Jasmine, cornering Jasmine into a tree.
Standing from where I was, I could see it was only a matter of time before their swords shatters.
It looked like Gabriella had yet to take notice of her sword's durability, but Jasmine, on the other hand, seemed to have something up her sleeves.
She continued to defend herself against Gabriella's sword attack until her bronze sword shatters into several metal pieces, which came as a surprise to Gabriella.
She was too engrossed in the notion of having Jasmine dead but couldn't help covering her eyes from the tiny pieces of metal that attempted to enter her pupils
But, just before Jasmine's sword shatters, she didn't waste a second to summon her silver sword she crafted after obtaining a Minotaur's horn as a dropped item, before taking a direct step with a straight thrust of her sword into Gabriella's chest.

Gabriella gasped in shock, with her mind unable to comprehend what was going on.

She tried to shove her sword into Jasmine as well, but Jasmine was quick to react with a direct jab of her bronze dagger into Gabriella's skull.
The dagger was what I gave her a few hours ago.
The squelching sound of her bronze dagger filled the area between the two of them.
Gabriella's eyes assumed a bloody red color, with blood dripping down the side of her lips. She gritted her teeth, with her heart filled with indignation towards Jasmine.
As her last words, she said. "I'll be seeing you in h.e.l.l,"
Her eyes lose their color with the last negative figure hovering above her head.
[Ding! Dead! Player Gabriella has been killed by Player Jasmine. -30 damage….]
Jasmine plopped to the ground in disbelief at what she had just done.
It's been months since she made her first kill, which happened to be the revenge of the one who caused the death of her sister and back then, it was purely aimed at the goal of seeking revenge.
The feeling she felt back then was satisfaction for finally honoring the dead with the vengeance she promised, but such feelings would only last for a fleeting moment.
But then, the harsh reality of not being able to have her loved ones return to her even with her vengeance already achieved only filled her with a feeling of loneliness and emptiness.
Now, things were different. This was something she had to do or else it would have been her with a sword stuck in her chest and a dagger lodging in her skull.
The feeling of fear would first consume her at the thought of this being her new reality.
Then, her mind will try to make sense of it all, but it wouldn't because no matter how hard she tries to take the images of the dead in her head away, they would always appear even if she never wants them to.
I rushed to see Jasmine who had her bloody hands trembling as she tried to grab her sword which seems to fell back down to the ground whenever she tries to lift it up.
She lifted her gaze to see me standing before her, and her eyes welled up in tears.
"Ace?... I... I… I....," She stammered, but I dropped to my knees in front of her, hugging her to calm her mind and to allow the thoughts of this being her new reality to sink in into her mind.
For the next ninety-four days, she's going to have to get used to killing a human just like her if she wants to last that long.
She continued to sob, with her tears drenching the back of my clothes.
Although the zombies weren't as many as they once were, they still lumbered around the forest.
And this means we couldn't stay like this for too long.
Jasmine separates herself from me while bashfully trying not to make eye contact.
I was unable to hold the smile from appearing on my lips after seeing such a sight from the ever-jovial Jasmine.
"A… Ace?"
"Un,"
"Can I sleep with you tonight?"
___
Time passed, and the sounds of zombies in the forest quieted down.
The first wave was no more.
The pitch-black sky had been replaced with a beautiful blue scenery.
The bodies of all the inmates in the decrepit inn were no more, and all that remained were Jasmine and I, sleeping together on a bed.
Jasmine had finally made her first couple of human kills.
Since she had been killing wolves, goblins, and even Minotaur before now, I'm sure she wouldn't let what happened to her last night dampen her confidence and resolve when going forward.
"Hmmm," The adorable voice of Jasmine sleeping soundly on my left shoulder drifted my attention towards her.
She had a pleased and satisfied look on her face, and her steady breathing proved that she was still fast asleep and nowhere close to waking up soon.
