The force of the mutant punch sent me flying backwards and sliding on the ground.

I hurriedly raised my head to search around me but I couldn't see the mutant anywhere.

Then, the mutant appeared in front of me but I couldn't react in time to the kick made by the mutant.

My HP dropped again.

The same thing continued to occur for a while.

No matter what I do, I could not pinpoint the exact location of the mutant due to the mutant's speed.

My HP keeps dropping but now it had dropped below ten which was a worrying figure for me.

"Argh!!" I was feeling frustrated for I had been unable to make a direct hit to the mutant.

No matter how hard I tried, no matter what I did, the mutant always seemed to be one step ahead of me.

I had tried using my gun but the outcome was the same as it has always been.

Even my battle against the Dark Minotaur didn't look like this and it was a level Five opponent as well.

"Think.... Think..... What do I do? What do I do?" My mind was in complete disarray.

This was because my HP had dropped to eight and I know it is only a matter of time before it drops to zero if I don't figure out something fast.

I had been doing the same thing since I started fighting against the mutant, no matter how I tried to listen to the footsteps of the mutant, I am unable to predict where the mutant was.

"Think... Think..... Think!!" I kept hyping myself to find a solution but nothing seemed to sprout to mind.

Finally, I gave up. My clenched fist dropped to either side of me.

I didn't want to fight again.

In fact, what's the use in trying so hard to fight back when I couldn't even see it.

For a while now, it's been difficult to smell the monster, not to mention hearing it.

This story originates from Royal Road. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

It's as though the mutant was blending with the darkness even though I had the ability to see at night.

'Wait a minute? See?' I thought. "Of course!" An excited look appeared on my face.

Meanwhile the mutant could see that I had finally given up.

For a while now, it's been having fun to see how long my will to fight could last before it completely crushes it but seeing as how I seem to be at my wit's end without having the interest of fighting anymore, the mutant became bored.

Sadly, it will hope to kill me now.

With that thought in mind, the mutant dashed towards me.

'Is the human having his eyes closed and his arms spread apart?'

'This only proves the fact of the human wanting to die now,'

The mutant doubled it's speed with its right fingers joined together to form the shape of a spear, then it aims it towards my chest but I side stepped towards my right to evade the mutant's attack.

And for the first time, the mutant had a surprised look on its face, pondering if it was a fluke that I avoided been hit.

It lunged towards me again.

My ears twitched and I evaded the mutant attack once again.

My eyes were closed and it lunged towards me yet again, trying to hit me but it couldn't.

[Ding! Maximum Skill Proficiency level reached. 'Enhanced Perception skill' level up (2 --> 3).]

Now the tides had turned.

A smile appeared on my face as I knew I could finally sense the mutant now.

I had been trying to see where the mutated was all this while, when all I needed was to listen to the fluctuations of the air around me caused by the rapid movement of the mutant.

Now, I could hear the mutant before it could even try to hit me.

My eyes remained close and I could sense the speed of the mutant had doubled a bit more than when our battle began.

"What's wrong? You're no longer having fun?" I asked. "But the fun is just beginning," I jested with a smile.

The mutant became vividly frustrated. " Hu.....human d..." It tried to say but I interrupted it.

"No! Tonight! It's you who dies," I said, feeling the confidence in me, storming to reach a threshold like never before.

'I will kill this mutant tonight,' I confidently made a decision.

The mutant dashed towards me once again, aiming for my head but I crouched down before swinging my sword which I equipped just now to separate its body from it's lower limbs.

Finally, I see a negative figure.

The mutant dropped to the ground since it had no limbs to walk, it moved it razor clawed hands frantically towards me but I cut both hands off as well.

Seeing more negative figures floating above it, I couldn't help but chuckle internally at the sight of this.

"It's nice seeing how things ended up this way." I said as I slashed on the mutant with no limbs.

It desperately tried to grab a bite of my feet but it couldn't.

"Hu.....human.....d.....die,"

"Ugh, put a cork in it! I'm sick of your voice," I shoved my sword in its skull.

*Squelch!!"
