Bang!
A piercing sound blasted into my ears.
My head shook violently from the impact and my eardrums tingled.
It hurts so much.
"Haha… There's the proof you need. It is a real gun. Now, humor me,"
A huge bald - head man with a thick mass of muscle guffawed in front of me.
He placed the revolver he shot right beside my ears on top of a baccarat table.
I was sitting in front of the baccarat table and across the table, a man was sitting on the other side.
He is to be my opponent.
We're to take turns in what would be a game called 'The last man gets to Live,'
It's not my kind of game, but I have no choice but to comply with the wishes of the maniac called 'Spencer Silver Blade,'
Why is he called that? I do not know and to be honest, I don't care either.
Spencer went back to taking a seat while staring at us as one of us gets to die while the other gets to live.
Behind Spencer were two silhouettes standing and waiting for orders.
Unlike me, who remained surprisingly calm in a place like this, the other man sitting across the table seemed to be drenched in sweat and was ceaselessly hyperventilating.
He stiffens, staring at the revolver on the table.
He looks like a bald hobo with a huge, unkempt beard.
The occasional hiccups he made, while crying, wafted the stench of alcohol toward me.
'How did he get his hands on alcohol in the first place?'
My experiences with Tim and the Minotaur have taught me to always remain calm during periods such as this.
Feeling agitated makes it difficult for me to understand what's going on around me.
Surprisingly, both of our hands were tied together while our feet were trussed to the chair we sat on to prevent us from escaping.
Although, I highly doubt escaping is possible in a place like this.
"Haha… Boss, Steven looks like he's gonna sh*t himself," One of the silhouettes behind Spencer laughed.
Enjoying this book? Seek out the original to ensure the author gets credit.
When compared to the other silhouette behind Spencer, this one looks a lot skinnier than the other one.
He added. "Why are you crying, huh? Don't you think you deserve this after committing such a heinous crime,"
It turns out the one sitting in front of me, Steven, committed a crime among this group of thugs.
So far, all I know is that there appears to be a total number of thirty inmates living in this building.
And among those thirty, twenty-eight are bossed around by two popular inmates from Black Paradise prison.
Hitherto, there's only one boss I have been graced to hear the name of, and that's Gabriella.
It appears she's also part of the reason Jasmine and I found ourselves here.
But Jasmine isn't here with me right now.
Right after, we cleared the labyrinth and were on our way back to the cabin.
A van intercepted us and out came seven hefty men with a pair of daggers in hand and a female who turns out to be Spencer's girl, Violet.
To be honest, we could have escaped from those men but Spencer, who took the driver's seat, had a revolver in his hand and was aiming straight at us.
Violet introduced herself as a friend to Gabriella before expressing how grateful she was to see Jasmine once again.
The name, Gabriella, was mentioned and Jasmine stiffened with her hands clutched to the steering wheel.
During this process, Jasmine didn't bat an eye toward me, and neither did she say anything to me.
Probably, because the name mentioned brought up unpleasant memories, and she didn't know what to say to me.
She humbly complied to come with them with the hope of them letting me go, but the one holding the revolver, Spencer, said something about me being of interest to the Big boss.
So, I was dragged along with them.
And that was how I got here, to this inn.
Insane right? But that's how messed up my life has been since this game began.
The decrepit-looking inn seemed to be the only building on this side of the forest.
The woods look weak and could collapse at any moment.
It appears to be like a duplex, with us currently occupying the lower floor.
There's a main road a few meters away from the inn.
I'm certain it must lead to a City or town away from here.
If we are to escape from this inn, that will be our ticket out of this forest
"Please.....please Spencer. Forgive me! It was all a misunderstanding. I didn't know you two were close. I don't know what came over me, ....."
The one called Steven kept pleading for his life, but Spencer paid no heed to him.
His gaze was fixated on me.
Honestly, that's creepy. I certainly hope he isn't into men.
Oh, but he has a girlfriend, so I guess I shouldn't be too bothered about that.
Upon our arrival from the ambush, Violet returned to her room to find a drunken Steven, locking both of them within the room to molest her.
Her screams alerted the men nearby, who immediately barged into the room, captured him, and then informed Spencer, who in turn is the second in command aside from the top two bosses mentioned earlier.
Well, people always say the true feelings of a man come out when he is drunk.
So, everyone understood Spencer had a few pent-up emotions he wanted to let out.
To be honest, I'm not too surprised by his actions. Among the women my eyes fell upon in this inn, Violet is still by far the most outstanding one in the group.
But, of course, her beauty is still inferior to Jasmine's.
And that explains why Steven is here.
Although the reason Steven is a bit shaky is that he knows, no matter the outcome of Spencer's little game, today will probably be the first and last time he feels a body as seductive as Violet's.
