"What's the kid doing here, boss?" The skinny silhouette behind Spencer asked.

He was the only one who wasn't present while Jasmine and I were ambushed by Spencer and his men.

"He cleared the labyrinth," Spencer bluntly replied, keeping a serious expression as he kept staring at me.

"Haha!!!… I always thought you had no sense of humor, boss. But seriously, that was a good one," The skinny silhouette, named Han, burst into laughter.

He alternated his gaze between me and Spencer, not wanting to believe what his boss said a moment ago.

"..." But Spencer paid no heed to his loquacious subordinate.

His eyes were fixed on mine. His forehead creased as he continues to scrutinize me.

'Good thing this isn't a job interview. Cause if it was, I would be sweating buckets by now,'

"Boss?" Han called out. "Don't tell me you were serious when you said…." He stopped and glared at me like a worthless human being.

No, the right word to describe his expression would be exasperation.

Then an evil grin surfaced on his lips.

"So, you mean this punk single-handedly cleared the labyrinth, huh?"

"Not sure really. There were two of them, but my gut tells me he had a higher role to play in clearing that labyrinth,"

"Hoho… the boss holds you in high esteem, huh?" Han approached me.

He stood behind me, grabbing my head with his emaciated hands.

'Seriously, this guy needs to eat a lot and do some work out,' I didn't say this out loud and could only keep my thoughts to myself.

"You think you're some kind of special b.a.s.t.a.r.d, huh?" He whispered in my ears.

And with an annoyed look on his face, he slammed my face on the table, yelling. "Well, you're not!!"

[Ding! Broken. -1 damage was inflicted on your HP. You currently have a broken nose. Get yourself treated immediately.]

Han grabs my head once again and yanks it backward, allowing him to glare at me from above.

Blood drizzled down from one of my nose holes.

But seeing how he was acting so jealous because of me filled me with a sense of pride.

I couldn't hold the smile from appearing on my face.

And This only irked him more.

"Tch," You're not just a lucky brat? So, you're a cocky little one too, huh?"

He grabbed my head, bashing it on the table twice this time around.

'He-he... I am so going to enjoy killing him once I'm free to move again,' I thought to myself.

"That's enough," Spencer ordered.

Han cringed back to stand behind Spencer.

"To be honest, I would like to have you as an underling. I'd like to be surrounded by strong men. And with a calm look like yours, you look like one with so much potential," Spencer said to me.

"Boss! You've got to be kidding me. Even if he did clear the labyrinth. It was probably not more than a fluke," Han protested.

" Then, I guess, I want a bit of that luck to rub off on me as well. Besides, this order is coming from the Big boss himself."

" The big boss?"

" Yes. But before I introduce him to the big boss, I would like to see just how good his luck is. If he dies here, I get to claim all his accumulated gold coins, and I'm sure he has a lot from clearing the labyrinth," An evil grin appeared on his face.

"But what if I don't die?" I asked, returning a glare toward him as well.

Spencer stands up from his seat with a broad smile on his face.

He leans towards me intending to intimidate me, but I remained unfazed.

With an ominous grin on his face, he said. "Then you'll work for me,"

'And what if I don't?' A part of me wanted to ask this, but I already know what his response will be.

Death is always the answer to questions like this.

"I like you. It's hard to believe you're a kid, really,"

I guess he does hold me in high esteem.

I'm flattered.

"Now!! Show me who luck favors the most between you two." Spencer yelled before turning towards Steven.

"Barring the clumsy mistake you made, I'm willing to let bygones remain bygones,"

A glimmer of hope gleamed towards Spencer, and he couldn't stop his runny nose from secreting colorless mucus.

Spencer turned towards his seat, saying "The rules are simple, and I don't need to remind you again….so,"

He sat on his seat and yelled.

"Begin!!"

Steven was the first to react to his order, pointing the muzzle of the revolver at his head with quivering hands.

Just as Spencer said, the rules are simple.

The first one to hold the revolver with a single bullet in it gets to aim it at his temple after spinning the revolving cylinder, then he pulls the trigger.

If he stays alive, the next person does the same until the bullet lodges in one of our heads.

Steven's hand is still trembling, his eyes staring at mine.

I won't be surprised if he soils himself right now.

'Woah! Hey! Hey! What's going on?'

"Hey! What do you think you're doing?" Even Han yells out, but Spencer stops him and ordered him to stay still.

Alternating his gaze between Spencer and me, Steven aims the muzzle toward me.

"I don't want to die," Steven yells, then pulls the trigger three times.

*Click!* *Click!* *Click!*

*Swoosh!*

"That's enough," Spencer swooshes in to grab the revolver.

*Fast!!*

*So fast!!*

His speed is a lot faster than Jasmine and even the Dark Minotaur combined.

"You've had your chance. Now, the kid gets to shoot an exact number of times,"

While holding the gun, Spencer offers the gun to me.

My hands were still tied, so I carefully grabbed hold of the revolver and pointed the muzzle toward my target.

Aiming for Spencer would be a risky and stupid move because there's only a bullet in here and I can't say for sure how strong the other two in the room are.

But one thing is certain. Spencer is fast.

"Now shoot," Spencer urged.

And so, while taking my aim, I pulled the trigger once.

*Bang.*
