It was now his turn to blush brightly, heat flooding his face completely and he coughed a bit, “Ah… I’m… uh… wow. Ok… that… was very nice to hear. Really strokes the ego, but… yeah, thank you.”
Kilniara giggled at that, her head raising with a small smile gracing her lips, “You seemed to be intrigued by that idea.”
“Definitely,” Joe responded back quite quickly and with great excitement before he reined himself in and coughed, “Yeah… um… but I want to get to know you more, first. We have only been friends for only a few days… uh… weeks. I would like to know you more, before… enthusiastically taking you up on that offer, if… I felt like we could be good together.”
Kilniara’s eyes had grown a twinkle and her smile had rapidly grown as Joe spoke, before weakening slightly at the end, “So it’s… not a yes.”
Joe smiled sadly and offered a weak shake of his head, “No, it is not a yes, but it is also not a no. It’s … please wait and be patient. It is also: “Holy freaking cow I’m very interested and wow… that sounds … really, really, really good, but…” Joe ended with a theatrical sigh.
Kilniara giggled at Joe’s statement before responding, “I think I can understand, then. You wish to grow our relationship.”
Joe smiled and nodded quickly, “Most definitely because I do not wish our relationship to be… short. I seek… permanent relationships.”
Kilniara’s smile grew at that, her sadness seeming to melt from her and propped her head up on an arm while resting an elbow on her bed, “I am willing and desire so as well.”
“Ah.. well… good, but that means we need to make sure we can be… compatible as good friends and… um… find out if we could grow as lovers. This will… take time.”
Kilniara said nothing to this, only smiling and staring back at him. They continued to smile at each other, the awkwardness growing as they stared silently at each other which quickly disappeared only to be replaced by a rapidly developing pressure of pure lust, heart beats quickly rising along with hot breaths and heated skin. Joe took a long shuttering breath before sitting up and moving away.
“You are way too freaking dangerous! I need to go to bed before I do something,” Joe ended with a smile back to Kilniara, taking a deep breath to pull himself away, although he did take a moment to indulge himself by reaching out a hand to caress her cheek. The caress lasted a few moments before he shook himself and stood, stepping away quickly.
“Right! I really need to go now or I’m going to try to squiggle down in those sheets with you!”
Joe rapidly retreated from the room to the crystal giggles of Kilniara, happiness obviously restored as well as Joe’s relief. Although, as Joe fought to sleep that night, he found himself struggling against seeking a relief of another kind.
* * *
Kilniara lay in her bed after Master left, her mind whirling and happiness spiraling through her entire body. She lay there for some time before finally shucking her clothing and wriggling happily into her bed, sleep quickly coming to her.
When she woke the next morning, she found herself feeling lighter than she’d felt in a long time and exited the room to find Master still sleeping. The early morning false dawn streamed into the room, and Kilniara stared between her Master and the soon sunrise with some shock, long used to seeing him awake before her.
She shuffled around the room, uncertain what to do when she heard her master move on his bed. She looked to him quickly, excitement coming to her but then felt disappointment when she saw he’d only shifted, now laying on his back. She found his face hypnotic and began to drift towards him, her eyes glued to his face. When her leg brushed against the bed, her focus broke, and she glanced down to see that she was now pressing up against Master’s bed. She looked back up again, eye’s tearing from his face to drift down his torso before she found her gaze locked on another location for very different reasons. Her face quickly flushed, scales standing upright in surprised excitement as she found him awake and standing in another completely different manner. She breathed deep a few times and quickly turned away, forcing her gaze to his face as she quickly struggled over what to do.
Unable to think of anything, she turned away and began to pace the room before finally deciding that her Master’s daily morning routine was an excellent option and she closed her mind, dropping her thoughts into hyper-focus the Acokzau were famous for, quickly retreating from her Master’s virility. She soon found herself lost in thought and moved through her forms.
Suddenly, the door to the room rattled against the door frame and Kilniara shook her head quickly as she became aware of her surroundings again. Her glance ping ponged from the door to the window and back to the door again. She was surprised to notice that false dawn had long come and Master still wasn’t up. Not wanting Master to awaken, she quickly slid to the door softly for her wayward sibling and superior apprentice. She’d just reached it when she looked back with some worry, not wishing to embarrass Master if the other two were to enter and find Master standing tall.
Her eyes fell back on the tent in the sheet, and quickly found herself flustered once again as her eyes flitted around the room looking for options. She went to get an extra blanket from Garnedell’s or her brother’s bedding but then stopped, realizing that her fellow apprentices were likely exhausted and seeking sleep. She looked around, disconcerted, before finally slipping quickly to Master’s bed and reached out with some trepidation to fluff the sheets slightly, spreading them out across his lap in a way to make the tent less obvious. She took some time and grew only more flustered after another knock or two and decided that what she’d been able to accomplish was as best she could do before running to the door quickly.

Her embarrassed fear quickly turned to disappointment as she rolled her eyes and frowned when she opened the door, finding the two quite drunk and quite loud.
“Shhh! Master is still asleep!” She whispered emphatically while pulling them in to the room before quickly moving back to stand by Master’s side, keeping herself between her fellow apprentices and Master’s morning upsurge.
Garnedell looked to Master slowly, his head wobbling weakly before responding in a loud fake whisper, “Really! Master is always awake before sunrise! Why is he still slee…”
“Shhhh, older apprentice! You are being loud!” Kilniara whispered back fiercely.
Garnedell comically shut his mouth, eyes bugging out in exaggeration before he nodded and began to quietly walk to his bed, in the over exaggerated walk of a drunk man. Her brother followed after, aping Garnedell’s movements as he also tip toed to his bed. Zilnek only made it about half way there when the ridiculous movements of Garnedell had him desperately containing his laughter. Zilnek soon found himself swaying with hands on his knees, unable to move while laughter threatened to erupt, while he urgently tried to clamp his lips shut to contain the laughter, gasps escaping as flatulence.
Garnedell looked backward in surprise hearing Zilnek, giggling and pointed, “Hehehehaha! You farted! Hahaha!”
Kilniara shushed the two of them, struggling to keep them silent but now that they’d started, it was almost impossible to stop. Garnedell’s giggles, fully audible, and his mockery of Zilnek’s ‘farting’ sent Zilnek into a full on giggling defense against his gastro infraction. By the time the two were done, Zilnek had fallen on the floor and Garnedell had collapsed against Master’s bed with both laughing so uncontrollably that they simply giggled and stopped only long enough to gasp.
Kilniara bounced between the two while desperately keeping her place protecting Master, flustered whispers ringing out, “Shh! Shh! Quiet! Master’s sleeping! Shhh!”
“Kilniara. It’s fine. I’ve been awake for a while now. I don’t think I can sleep through two drunk monsters stumbling through the door to the bedroom. I don’t think anyone can!”
All three suddenly stopped, eyes looking to Master, Kilniara hiding her spike of fear under a cautious subservience that would hopefully appease Master. Kilniara breathed a small sigh of relief as she saw Master had the hint of a smile. Although, maybe he is still hiding his anger? She kept her face well-schooled, still cautious as to how Master would reply. That caution seemed to have been meaningless as she flinched with some fear when she heard Garnedell’s snort turn into muffled laughter. Her eyes automatically glanced to Garnedell, before her eyes glued back on Master, worried about his obvious mockery.
Kilniara almost wasn’t able to keep the shock off her face when she saw Master only smile greater before chuckling himself. Garnedell’s poorly restrained laughter erupted and Zilnek only joined in as he had poor restraint at the moment, long drunk with Garendell. Kilniara stared at all three, her concern dissipating and soon replaced by her own giant smile and soft chuckle.
Garnedell and Zilnek had no such restraint and simply roared with laughter and Kilniara shared a look and a chuckle with Master. Master rolled his eyes while glancing at the two, and this tripped Kilniara into her own laughter, shocked into freeing her inhibitions when she realized Master was unconcerned with his face, enjoying the moment of familiarity.
Kilniara, however, quickly regained her reserve and schooled her face to a polite smile while hiding her shock at her Master’s acceptance and mockery at her fellow apprentices antics.
“So, I’m getting that you guys are pretty drunk. Anything you want to say about last night?”
Zilnek responded, but ended up drowning out his words in his own laughter, made incomprehensible by his choking laughter. Garnedell, however, was able to respond, keeping his laughter under control long enough.
“Nope! Nothing to tell at all! Nothing happened!”
Zilnek took a moment to gasp out, “Exactly. Nothing!”
Master simply shook his head and allowed the two idiots to laugh, for which Kilniara could only be grateful for Master’s leniency. The mood in the room was some of the lightest she’d ever experienced as even her own family had never been so… accepting of the tomfoolery of foolish youth. The laughter continued unabated until several shouts were heard and the walls on either side of their room thumped under the angry pounding of their neighbors.
Kilniara quickly shushed the two boys, to no avail, but Master’s sharp comment cut through their laughter quickly, quieting them, if not ending their ecstatic laughter, as they once again started snorting and failing to keep their laughter in.
Their laughter ended almost immediately with Master’s next comment, “Glad you made it back. We’ll be heading out to the dungeon in about thirty minutes. Better get ready!”
Kilniara looked at Master with some shock, as the two boys were in absolutely no shape to be able to fight in the dungeon. This would put her brother’s life in great danger, but when she saw Master’s mocking smirk, she somehow knew that master was mocking them, and a gasping single chuckle escaped her lips before she could keep it in. Master … is joking?
The boys almost immediately stopped laughing, their looks of shock and fear easily seen on their face, and Kilniara soon found herself laughing at them, realizing that Master had no intention of going through with it. They stumbled over themselves attempting to beg out but Master … Joe, showed no signs of letting them free, and Kilniara’s laughter only grew as she struggled to hold it in.
Master Joe dangled the threat before them for a few moments before relenting, “Alright! I’m joking. Don’t worry. You guys need to rest up and sleep. Did you drink some water?”
Garnedell shook his head no while Zilnek replied, “No, Master!”
“Go get a drink. It will help you with your hangover. Drink a lot of water, go to the bathroom, and then sleep. When you wake, drink and eat. And drink as much water as you can. Rest in the inn today. We will be going out again tomorrow.”
The two boys quickly nodded, but then flinched as their heads shook. Joe smiled at their wince but then stood.
“Right. Rest here. I’ll be going to the dungeon.”
Master Joe looked my way, eyes making contact with mine but I looked away in subservience, as he was Master, but his next question was for her.
“Kilniara. What do you wish to do today? Do you want to rest another day?”
Kilniara almost took him up on his offer, but while she took her time to consider, her brother’s words came to her and she realized that a day alone with Master Joe was a chance she was unlikely to get again.
“Master Joe, I would like to go with you.”
“Only if you stop calling me master!”
Kilniara looked up at that then smiled in response, seeing Master’s soft smile, “Yes, Mas.. uh… Yes, Joe.”
“Good. Much better. Right… so… wait, Garnedell? Zilnek? Did you eat, yet?”
The two apprentices stated they had eaten some snacks almost the whole evening long, so Joe only commanded them to come to the common room to drink some clean water, an outrageous expense for simple apprentices, but as Master had demanded it, they followed him down but only stayed long enough to drink a large mug each before stumbling back up to their beds.
“Kilniara? Let me go up and make sure they’re in bed well enough. Can you get our food when the waiter brings it?”
