“Huh… I never really thought of that before. Although, it would probably be a really good idea for you and your brother to learn to fight with and without a tail. It will completely change your balance and actions.”
She looked up at him, her eyebrows raised with some surprise, “Yeah, it does. How did you know?”
Joe looked at her, brow crinkling in amused confusion, “Tails add incredible balance. Losing it would make a huge difference.”
She stared at him for a few moments before replying, “My bas… human friends don’t seem to get it. They’re always confused when I complain about losing my tail.”
“Ha! I would complain, too!”
Kilniara smiled softly at that, relaxing even more as she stepped back into his arms and began to transform once again, and Joe watched with utter fascination. He watched as her face slimmed significantly, becoming more angular and certainly more alien compared to the norm for human faces. Her pupils changed slightly, returning to their vertical slits even as incredibly small and delicate scales reformed across her face. He stepped back quickly to watch her transformation, now noticing the details. Her hips and upper torso returned to their Acokzau slimness once again with her breasts pulling into to a smaller cup size to return her to the sleekness Joe was used to seeing. Her tail extended out to its normal length once again, just long enough to slide the tip along the floor if Kilniara chose to push it down for its entire length.
Joe’s eyes widened in awe and wonderful joy as he watched the whole affair before shaking excitedly and revealing a brilliant smile, “That… is so cool! Seriously! I’m so jealous! You’ve got an excellent agile form and a slightly stronger sturdier heavier… wait! Come here. Can you…”
Joe stepped forward and picked her up, slipping and arm under knees and behind her back before picking her up quickly. She kind of yelped quietly in surprise as he lifted her easily and her arms wrapped around his neck. Seeing her cry, Joe grimaced in embarrassed chagrin, “Sorry. I should have asked!”
Kilniara smiled before blushing slightly and shaking her head, “I… this is actually nice!”
Joe’s chagrin vanished and his smile took on a more heated temperature, “Hmm… I’ll remember that.”
The two stayed like that for a few moments before Joe dipped his head and invited Kilniara into a kiss. She gladly accepted, pulling her face closer to his as both basked in each other’s lips for a few moments before Joe pulled away and shook his head.
“Stop tempting me, you minx!”
Kilniara smiled, cuddling into him even as she looked up at him with utter satisfaction, “I don’t think I mind being a min… wait, what is a minx?”
Joe chuckled before shrugging, “I’m not sure. Something like a cat or so?”
“A cat?” Kilniara mused in consideration, then continued. “Hmm… well, then I don’t mind being one with you.”
“I’m glad you do as well,” Joe breathed out, once again staring into her eyes before he shook his head again and pulled back.
“Stop that!”
“I’m only looking at you!”
“Too … too… OK. Right,” Joe turned his head away and took a deep breath.
“Gotta focus! So, Kilniara. Can you transform back to full base form?”
Kilniara moved to step out of his arms and Joe shook his head, holding her, “No. While I’m holding you.”
Kilniara nodded then shifted. As she shifted into her base form, Joe grunted as her weight actually increased, tugging down on his arms although only slightly. Once she was back into her base form, Joe asked her to return to her Acokzau form and he felt her lighten in his arms. After doing so, Joe set her down and stepped back, shaking his head with some confusion.
“Welp… magic! Screw the conservation of mass and energy. What is going on?”
Kilniara cocked her head with some confusion as she stared at him and Joe saw her looking at him before turning back to her.
“Sorry. It doesn’t really matter and there’s no way I could really figure this out right now anyway. But… let’s just say something really… really crazy is going on when you transform from base to Acokzau and back.”
With this statement, Kilniara’s bright smile faded and she gasped a quick breath, nerves obviously playing across her nerves and revealed on her face. Joe noticed it quickly enough and turned towards her, stepping closer.

“What’s wrong?”
Kilniara looked at Joe before taking another much deeper and slower breath before she smiled at him sadly, “This is not the Acokzau form.”
“It isn’t?”
Kilniara offered a tiny shake of her head, “No.”
Joe looked at her for several moments longer, thinking carefully before continuing, uncertain how to tread what was obviously a meaningful and worrying … something.
“If… you… if you do not wish to tell me yet, you do not have to. But I … would like to say that you do not need to fear my rejection. I think I could handle whatever you tell me. I will be honest, I would be quite certain of that statement back on my plane, but this plane is so different… but… I’m quite… open.”
She stared at him once again as she had done before, her fear returning much more significantly as she looked deep into his eyes before steadying herself and stepping back from him. This time, she began to transform once again but ever further away from anything that could be considered human. Her body shifted forward even as her arms turned more into an angled dangle forward from a body that was now leaned forward by almost forty five degrees. Her rear, hips, and tail thickened considerably even as her legs transformed at a rapid pace. Her tail thickened and lengthened while her hips widened rapidly. She took the time to quickly loosen the top of her dress slightly before pulling it up completely over her now quite wide hips, so as to not rip her dress. Her top simply shifted to fit incredibly awkwardly on her body. Once done, she continued shifting.
Her foot lengthened significantly and angled off the floor so that she now stood on her toes with the ankle now formed into a ‘second knee’ bent backwards, rear legs transforming from plantigrade to digitigrade. Her neck lengthened only slightly but her face and mouth stretched monstrously with her jaw turning into a massive tooth spiked maw. Teeth almost as long as a finger stretched from her jaw and her tongue was now a good foot long.
Joe’s eyes widened in utter shock, “Fuck!”
Kilniara jerked back at that, her head turning away from him even as a frill around her neck that he hadn’t noticed forming flared slightly, spreading around her face almost like the flare of a cobra, surrounding her entire head in a gorgeous if fear inspiring beauty. Joe quickly noticed her jerk back to turn away and while he was quite certain that he was very much out of his depth in being able to read the body language of an alien reptilian velociraptor … or whatever is a close cousin!... Joe was quite certain that he was reading rejection in Kilniara’s posture.
It took quite a bit more than Joe realized, his gut fear reaction proving to be very strong, but he was able to step forward and wrap his arms around her, pulling her tight into him. It proved to be a very strange hug as he ended up with pretty much only neck and terrifying jaw, but he hugged her carefully to him.
“Right. So I admit that was quite a bit more than I was expecting!” Joe quickly let out with a chuckle before he placed his hands on both cheeks of his velociraptor girlfriend, her teeth sliding across his palms as velociraptors, or their close cousins, didn’t seem to have much in the way of cheeks or lips.
He stared into her eyes which both proved to be set forward, although much wider apart with much greater peripheral vision. He held her in this way before leaning forward and kissing her deliberately on her snout.
“Hey. You are still you, just with a much cooler second … or even third body than I do.”
She stared at him for a moment before chuffing slightly, wriggling her eyebrows and growling out something then shaking her head in obvious frustration. Annoyed, she stepped back and began to rapidly transform back into her … what form is it? Natural? Half form? What do I call it? It’s only normal to me because that’s how I first met her. Guess I’m going to have to…
Joe trailed off as she quickly transformed but her clothing quickly proved to be a significant issue. Her arms had proven perfectly fine as her dress top was half way between short sleeved and a tank top, so did not catch on anything during the transformation. Her hips, however, proved significantly wider than her human form, let alone her half formation. Wait… why do her hips thin from human then flare back out…
He was distracted once again as her dress had risen above her hips, which while in her full veloci… uh.. I guess that’s actually Acokzau form, right? While she was in her full Acokzau form, it had not proven to be a problem, but as her hips narrowed and her lower torso and legs took on a much more decidedly feminine human form, Joe found himself becoming distracted for a completely different reason. He quickly turned around to allow Kilniara her privacy and it was a few moments before Kilniara replied.
“Uh… you can turn back around.”
Joe turned and looked down at her to see her face blushing deeply. He stepped forward and wrapped his arms around her, pulling her in tight.
“So… that was… surprising.”
She looked up at him at that and he looked down at her, keeping a basic smile on his face, not flinching away from her. It took a bit of time, but relief began to show on her face as she looked on for a few moments more before burying her face into his chest. They stood like this for a few moments before Joe separated from her and stepped back into the corner and settled to the floor. He looked up at her, smiling and she stood a bit shyly. Joe did nothing, waiting for her, although he opened his arms for her to let her know he was inviting her to join him. She stayed before him for a few more moments before she sat down in his lap once again, although this time she faced him as she still had her tail and didn’t seem to want to change what seemed to be her natural form of choice.
The cuddled like this for awhile, her body relaxing ever more as he simply held her and caressed her back. The sat in silence for a long time, Joe refusing to speak to give Kilniara the time she needed. That seemed to be the wrong thing as she seemed to begin to tense again, nerves once again coming to the fore. Joe decided to offer a line of communication, but leave it open.
“So.” Joe grimaced but hid his sigh. That’s genius!
Joe didn’t know what else to say, but it proved to be enough as Kilniara relaxed slightly and giggled a bit as she replied, “Yeah.”
They remained silent again for a few moments before Joe continued, “That’s the Acokzau… full form? Original form? Main form? What… I’m not sure what to say.”
“The original form. Yes. That is the original form of Acokzau.”
“Wow.”
Kilniara giggled at that, relief fully coming out as she began to release her stress, laughter spilling out quietly, “You did quite well.”
“What do you mean?”
“Most run away in terror or fear.”
“Ah, yeah… I think I would have, too, if not…”
Kilniara’s giggling slowed and stopped at that statement as she pulled back and looked up at him, “If not what?”
“If it wasn’t you. I knew I was safe. Because it was you.”
