Three days! It's been three days of nonstop wolves at least once an hour, and even a few grizzly boars. The grizzly boars weren't rare like the first one I killed, but that didn't make them any less of a pain in the ass to kill! I've lost half my twiglings, and most of my remaining sanity! Thankfully the wind stopped late last night and the influx of wolves has been slowing down since then. Speaking of wolves….

Die you little shits! I think to myself as I run the wolves through using sharpened branches.

There, maybe now they will fuck off and give me some peace! Needless to say, I'm back in my pod now. After the first half a day of fighting I was out of mana and down to half health so I retreated to my pod. Of course after that the first grizzly boar showed up. It made a beeline for the new corpse stockpile and I was not going to be able to take it down alone before it got there, so I sent the twiglings in to help. A quarter of the poor things got turned into paste and another quarter got eaten, yes, eaten! Even with my shields they got torn apart. For whatever reason those grizzly boars will straight up eat my twiglings. Eventually it went down, then more wolves kept showing up, keeping me from focusing on fully replenishing my numbers.
Then more grizzly boars showed up interspersed between the wolf waves and slowly worked my numbers down faster than I could replenish them. Thankfully that looks like the rush has died down, those were the first three I've seen in three hours. I'm happy for all the exp, god damn it's been nothing but wolves for the last few days. How many can you fit in a valley? How big even is this shit at the other end? It's gotta be huge to fit the amount of wolves I've killed. Still, with the amount of meat I've got stockpiled I'll be able to make like, a bazillion twiglings. Maybe a bit of an exaggeration but still close. Between the resources and the levels I’m more than ready for a major overhaul to my forces, god knows I’m going to need it at this rate.

I should definitely upgrade my twiglings again. I jumped fourteen levels up to forty on my race, while getting up to fifteen on my paladin class. And the points, holy crap the points! I’ve got one hundred and thirty three points to spend!
Now what skill should I invest in next? Definitely going to max shield, maybe I should invest points into healing? Yea, that seems like a good idea, it never hurts to have more healing. Hmm, I still got eighty two points left, what else? Maybe mobile podding? It says it also expands expansion rate, and while I don’t plan on going anywhere I think it will be worth it. And done. But I still have forty seven points left, so I can bring one more skill up to ten or distribute them. Fuck it, I’ll max body reinforcement, god knows I use it enough. That leaves me with three points left. You know what I’ll throw those into my magic stat just for shits and giggles. Note to self, round my other stats off at a five or ten at some point.
With that out of the way I cast body reinforcement on myself and the twiglings again, and I’m pleased by the result.

Oh, increased duration as well. I like where this is going, maybe three days of non stop insane wolves was worth it after all. Now for stage two, improving the twiglings again. I open up the interface and pump the level up as high as it will go, which happens to be thirty two. Yea definitely four fifths my max level. After that I pump all the points into a mix of strength and endurance. Then I create another template, this time adding and pumping up throwing proficiency to max, then dumping the remaining points into strength. Now I have level thirty two melee and thrower twiglings, major upgrades over the old level thirteens I was using.
With that out of the way I survey my domain again. My vision wanders over to the small mountain of corpses with several corpse flowers growing out of it sitting at my new corpse storage area. It's easily over ten feet tall and has hundreds of wolf corpses. I’m still wondering where the fuck all these things came from. It’s not like they can appear out of thin air….. Yea that's probably what happened. This world is so damned weird I wouldn’t doubt it one bit if monsters materialized out of thin air. Although I’m just guessing, since I haven't seen it myself, certainly would explain a few things though.
Anyway, it’s a hell of a stockpile so I wont be wanting for nutrients any time soon. I turn my attention next to the blast plant. It’s doing well, aside from the fact I’ve looted it for pods. It’s got only one pod left, but I can see a few buds where more will soon grow out. Next is the razor blooms, same as the last time I looked at them. Except for one, the one farthest up the valley where the wolves came from is covered in blood. I made good use of it, slicing open the mangy mutts as they barreled on by it. It was efficient when they got close enough, but most of them were far enough away from it that it wasn't possible to kill them with it.
Aside from those things it's fairly quiet around my domain, hopefully the peace will last a while. Welp, back to making more twiglings I guess. Not like I got anything better to do.
