As I awake from my nap with a groggy yawn, I immediately notice that something isn’t right. A strange fluid fills my lungs but I’m not drowning. It feels like I’m immersed in it, but its so dark I can’t tell. What is this, why can’t I see any light? Are my eyes even open? As I ponder what feels like a million questions I feel a momentum shift, like I’ve started going down.
Slowly but surely the feeling of a pit in my stomach intensifies as the thing I’m trapped in picks up speed. As my panic builds with a mounting sense of dread, the inevitable stop finally hits. I’m sent crashing to the floor of my containment, the thick fluid I’m immersed in absorbing most of the impact.
But not enough of it, I smash chest first into the bottom of my containment, followed by my head crashing into the floor and feet smashing the side. OUCH, I think I broke something. Now everything hurts like hell. And as instantly as the pain comes, I can feel it getting soothed away. It’s not instant but it’s definitely going away. What the hell is this weird goopy shit I’m stuck in.
As I contemplate what to do next, I feel the weirdest sensation yet. It’s like my legs, yet not my legs, are branching out and digging into the world around me. I feel a strange connection with my cage, like it's a part of me. It’s about this time I realize I have an extra, appendage?

I can feel something connected to me, just above my butt. Like a tail but, it’s not. How do I know it’s not a tail, this is weird? I place my hand on the new extremity and feel it, it’s like I’m touching myself. I can feel my hand touching the tail thing, and I can feel the tail thing touching my hand. This is trippy.
I run my hand down the tail, its smooth, like hairless skin. I give it a light squeeze and nearly jump out of my skin at the weird ass feeling of it. Like I’m being tickled but so much more wrong. Note to self don’t squeeze tail thing. I put my hand back on the tail, and this time follow it down is length.
Running my hand from my lower back, I push through the weird sensation and find it goes into the floor. In my infinite wisdom, I grab it by the base going into the floor, plant my feet, and yank. Then immediately regret my life decisions.
“Holy f-ack!” I tried to scream as a piercing pain ripped up my tail and through me. I immediately lost my footing and curled into a ball. I can’t even think with the piercing headache that’s overtaken me. My ears are ringing and my skin tingles, but all I can feel is numbness.
I sit floating, curled up in a ball wincing as the echoes of the original pain ripple through me. It's bouncing back and forth between the tail and my head. All I can do is float until finally exhaustion takes me and I fall into a slumber.
