Huang Yuming's words earlier woke Jiang Ning up with a start.
It was true that he had make preparations as early as possible. If he waited until trouble really came knocking, then it would be too late to do anything.
It wasn't enough to have him alone. It wasn't enough at all. And even though he now had Peter Pan, a revived Peter Pan who was powerful and once stood at the pinnacle of power, the challenge they were facing was still very great. If the Underworld in his memory truly existed, they were going to meet with a lot of trouble.
On top of that, there was still Greedy Wolf!
But since the Heavenly Palace existed, then the Underworld definitely existed. Just thinking about it gave Jiang Ning a headache.
He went to the study room and was immersed in his own thoughts as he quietly thought through some areas. Nobody interrupted him because they all
knew that he needed time and peace.
When he noticed Jiang Ning like this, Peter Pan knew that something worried him, or perhaps he had run into some big trouble.
"Master, you're really amazing. Are you more amazing or is my Daddy more amazing?" Jiang Yao looked up with a look of admiration on her little face.
"Well...of course your Daddy is a little more amazing," said Peter Pan with a smile as he gently patted Jiang Yao's head. "I'm afraid there's nobody more amazing than him in this world."This content is © .
"Yay! I knew it! I just knew Daddy was more amazing! Haha!" laughed Jiang Yao merrily.
Peter Pan purposely pulled a long face. "Oh, so you tricked Master into saying that! I'm going to get angry!"
"Teehee! Master, don't be angry, you're amazing too!" Jiang Yao grinned and said teasingly, "You're my Master after all!"
"Wait a minute. I'm amazing only because I'm YOUR Master?"
Peter Pan didn't know whether to laugh or cry. He never thought someone as powerful as himself would one day need to rely on someone else for reputation. But he was still more than happy to do so.
He picked Jiang Yao up with one arm. "Come along, let's go look at all the uncles practicing martial arts!"
The world didn't seem to have changed. Everything seemed to operate normally.
But even if the world had already gone through a massive change, an ordinary person wouldn't be able to feel it.
In Fengdu, in the northwest.
This was a small and secluded town far from the city center. In fact, for a variety of reasons, the number of people who remained in the town had dwindled over the years.
When night fell, the streets would be entirely empty.
It was like a ghost town, and
seemed void of any energy or life. No matter what the government officials did, they simply couldn't get anybody to remain in the town. The number of youngsters kept decreasing, finding jobs and doing
whatever they could to get out of the
town. Nobody wanted to stay.
Only some old people had no choice but to stay put, or some didn't want to leave their hometown and chose to grow old here.
Late at night.
The streets were empty, and the fallen leaves blown about by the wind rustled noisily.
Greedy Wolf walked along these streets very slowly. Each step he took crunched on the fallen leaves.
His gaze was dark as he looked into the distance. The street was completely empty and it extended into the dark
distance where it was too dark to even see your own fingers.
HUUU...
The wind grew stronger and stronger.
The sound of the wind howling was very painful to hear.
The fallen leaves on the ground flew into the sky. The sound of footsteps could be heard in the air. They had come in huge numbers, and the sound of their footsteps kept increasing.
Shortly after that, some strange sounds could be heard, as if people were discussing something, or arguing or just making a lot of noise. Anybody who heard these voices would feel their hair all stand on end.
But there was nobody else on this street except for Greedy Wolf.
There was no expression on Greedy Wolf's face. He didn't seem bothered by the creepy things happening around him.
He continued walking forward, and the voices around him increased.
"AHHH!"
"AHWOO!!"
"НАНАНА!"
All sorts of weird noises could be heard, and the footsteps became denser and denser. In fact, they sounded like they kept walking back and forth past Greedy Wolf.
